Ragemidget let off some steam and slaughtered the elf merchants. [editline]29th March 2011[/editline]
Post the combat announcements? :v:
None yet

[editline]29th March 2011[/editline] How long did it take for Ragemidget to completely eradicate the Merchants? And did they even have time to respond?
Oh god. As soon as its starts raining my FPS goes to the shit. I cant manage 60 dwarves while my FPS is at 30 EDIT: It musnt be the rain, it started again and FPS is fine now. Maybe my computer just decides I want to play it slowly sometimes
How hard is it to establish an aboveground fortress?
How hard is it to establish an aboveground fortress?
It's not as hard as it is tedious.
I find it easier than making underground ones. Most of my forts are aboveground.
I have a bad habit of making underground forts to give me the materials to rapidly build an aboveground one, but by that time I grow too accustomed to working underground :smith: On a similar note, I've found it feels the most "right" to play as Humans while doing an aboveground fortress.
Does this game have diseases, like leprosy or something? One of my dwarfs body parts kept falling off then he succombed to the infection
Does this game have diseases, like leprosy or something? I had an adventurer who got advanced necrosis all over his body, his eyes burst, and he'd constantly get severe boils and blisters over his body. He didn't die from it. He'd leave a trail of pus wherever he went.
[del]disgusting[/del]awesome
Thats really gross. My miner's limbs just fell off all through the meeting hall and then he went and died in my food stockpile
You should probably get him mopped up... like- quickly, before his horrid miasma stink fucks up all the food.
You should probably get him mopped up... like- quickly, before his horrid miasma stink fucks up all the food.
Yeah I got rid of him. The miasma from his limbs got all through my meeting hall though
Yeah I got rid of him. The miasma from his limbs got all through my meeting hall though
That sucks. What shall be done with the body and the limbs?
The limbless body is in a casket. I dunno what ill do with the limbs. If I had dogs i would definatly feed the limbs to them
We just had a cave-in. A two mining dwarves killed- crushed beneath the rock-- and one, Antigonus Whimssalve, our fortress' mason, seriously injured as he fell a few z-levels (like 6 or 7) with the rubble, clinging to the top. Pretty sure he'll die since he's got a lot of important stuff broken and a lot of other stuff bleeding. I'm surprised he didn't have more damage done to him, though for such a long fall. Im amazed he survived that fall, let alone the injuries he sustained I just flooded my fortress accidently. So there goes everything.
Oh shit man, a forgotten beast just got into my fort somehow... I thought there were no openings leading into the caves from the fort, but he found a way in. This scared the shit out of me considering all the Fun I'd had with forgotten beasts in the past, but this actually went surprisingly well. It's a giant tarantula with wings and a poisonous bite, and it handily killed two woodcutters and a glassmaker. At this point, I sent my barely-trained, poorly-equipped military of 20 dwarves down below to kill it. Surprisingly, none of them died. One of the lowly recruits killed the beast by PUNCHING IT IN THE HEAD WITH A CAVE SPIDER SILK MITTEN. Shit doesn't get much more hardcore than that. I guess it's still possible that some dwarves will die of poison, but that hasn't happened yet. One fighter lost his left hand, and rested for a couple minutes in the hospital, then said "fuck this" and got back to work in the middle of the chief medical dwarf's diagnosis. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] :o My suturer just got possessed and claimed a magma forge. This sounds like it's going to be awesome He grabbed gold bars (of course), cat bones, schist blocks, and llama wool cloth [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] So, it was a gold low boot, worth 72,000 ☼ Encrusted with schist, decorated with llama wool, and encircled with bands of gold. On the item is an image of toads in cat bone.
So are there zombie diseases yet because having a big zombie infection in the fort would be cool

I just found out my dwarves made soap out of the forgotten beast they killed. That shit's hardcore. They also kept his intestines for eating, and his hair and chitin for unknown reasons
You can tan chitin like leather. Make some forgotten beast socks.
My first fortress. :sigh:
I'm guessing that was an unintended water feature. Whenever you open up a murky pool, make sure you have a door between it and the area you want to keep dry, this stops water from flowing. I also recommend walling off the murky pool when you've muddied the area you need, as some attackers can drop z-levels and enter your fort that way.
Does this game have diseases, like leprosy or something? It's possible he got infected by poisonous gas/bite/sting/blood/spittle that such a beast had. Watch out, it might infect the rest of your fort.
