Oh wait looks like they didn't retreat completely, just ran to the edge and are now coming back. By all means come back fuckers, going to try out my ballista. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline]
Also killed a fair share of shit too And about animals, make a large area on a soil layer. There'll be cave moss and such growing on the soil floor that the animals can eat.
Will do, that way the fortress will be completely self-reliant without needing anything from the outside.
Can you actually grow trees, or is that outside of your control? Or is there some other way of obtaining wood.
If you mine out a large enough area in soil, eventually trees will start growing underground.
Can you actually grow trees, or is that outside of your control? Also why hasn't anyone gone about doing a 3d rendering program for .31? I loved that feature in 40d and I really am starting to get annoyed by Stonesense.
Take that you motherfucking Goblin sons of a whore, I bet they expected an easy pillage like last time. Those assholes won't be back anytime soon, killed 3, mortally injured 4 and the rest fled like a bunch of pussies (I don't think there was a single one without a severe bleeding). They did go after my animals though, fuckers killed like 8 of them, but a brave Yak bull fought back and tore the Goblin bastard's brain apart with a kick. Is there any way to have the animals inside? I mean without them starving to death from the lack of grass.
Aren't there like, mosses that grow underground now. Like that animals can feed on them.
Why are siege operators civilians? Just had a siege operator not fire a ballista because a Goblin was nearby. Well no shit asshole that's the point. Oh and why don't military troops pull levers? Just ended up with all the 8 remaining Goblins getting past my bridge. Killed 5 of them, lost my captain of the guard, then they retreated (got 2 more while they retreated with crossbows). Well now the siege is over. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] Also what should I do with 3 Goblins and a Cave Croc in a cage? Put them in the main hall and use them as decoration?
Siege operators should be considered military so they don't run away if a goblin looks in their general direction.

And they don't pull the lever because it's a civilian job, activated military just kills.
Came back to this game after a long break from it, just endured my first (ever) siege from goblins. 'Twas rather anticlimactic, I simply pulled up my bridge at the entrance, stationed my army behind it, then let the bridge down again and the goblins got slaughtered. They killed my wolves that were guarding the entrance, though. Bastards.
Use em to torture any difficult nobles.
Sounds like a good idea, I'll strip them of the weapons. Also might drop in the Croc if the Noble is particularly bothersome. What I need now though is a Dungeon Master, I have to tame that Croc. How deep down is magma anyway? The Z-level counter shows 149 at my main floor, but I can't go deeper than 81 (haven't dug more than 144, so maybe I can see deeper as I dig deeper). [editline]30th March 2011[/editline]
They're supposed to be fired from really far away. And they don't pull the lever because it's a civilian job, activated military just kills.
Yeah the idea was that a civilian would pull it, but since the lever was close to the ballista it suffered the same problem. Would have been nice to be able to order the military to pull it.
Nobles are assholes. Any particular draw backs to murdering them?
Nobles are assholes. Any particular draw backs to murdering them?
Other than maybe making a friend or something angry? No, I believe not.
There's four dead magma crabs and a dead demon in the units screen. This doesn't bode well. :ohdear: [editline] [/editline] 7 crabs now.
Other than maybe making a friend or something angry? No, I believe not.
Bwahahahaha... There is a place with their names written all over it.
How do I move Z levels, I embarked and all there is is black. I think I may be veiwing underground or something.
How do I move Z levels, I embarked and all there is is black. I think I may be veiwing underground or something.
Shift plus < or >
Shift + 5 to go up a level. Control + 5 to go down a level. [editline] [/editline] oh, goddamn it Soul_Reaver.
The mountain titan Ngon Slexsmulab Ugokstror has come! A great humanoid composed of green glass. It has a fat bulging trunk and it has a regal bearing. Beware its deadly spittle!
At the moment, it's just standing still at the edge of the map. Wonder how he fares against my squad of 5 dwarves?
These cats are getting out of control. The entire outside of my fort is completely littered with the corpses of various creatures. Sure, its useful. But good god, the little bastards are vicious. My military needs to take a fucking lesson from them.
At the moment, it's just standing still at the edge of the map. Wonder how he fares against my squad of 5 dwarves?
Doesn't sound too dangerous, if it was made out of stone however, then you'd be in trouble.
At the moment, it's just standing still at the edge of the map. Wonder how he fares against my squad of 5 dwarves?
Try and use blunt weapons, they might work better.

What does that title mean :v:?
At the moment, it's just standing still at the edge of the map. Wonder how he fares against my squad of 5 dwarves?
Watch out for the deadly spittle, it's a breath attack. Possibly poisonous.
whoops, got the wrong idea. Anyway, that thing that's murdering everything in my underworld just killed another two demons.
My expedition leader and broker just randomly "ran into an obstacle", mutilating his body and separating his head from the rest. What the heck?
whoops, got the wrong idea. Anyway, that thing that's murdering everything in my underworld just killed another two demons.
If I may say so, it sounds like your in for a hell of a lot of Fun.
:what:
Your gonna die, mate. Viciously, horribly, and most likely hilariously.
