I concur, sounds like a source of a lot of Fun.
I know that, i was pointing out the horrific pun.
Anyway, the pitfall got it's first test fire! only 10 z-levels at this point, but it made the kobold go splat good.
I actually managed to kill the mountain titan, but not without losses. He took most of my animals, as well as my militia commander, my best hunter and several other workers with him.
I also managed to smash my legendary woodworker with my drawbridge while trying to lock the titan out of my fortress.
Now the mayor seems to be throwing a tantrum. This isn't good.
Good news is, one of my dwarves just crafted an artifact: A claystone toy axe!
I can't tell if s/he's mocking me or not. Stupid dwarf.
My expedition leader and broker just randomly "ran into an obstacle", mutilating his body and separating his head from the rest. What the heck?
Means he fell from somewhere, or he was thrown by something. Check the combat reports, I think it says what happens when they fall

It appears he was thrown by the titan. He was unfortunate enough to be outside of the fortress when it appeared.
Shadow, dwarves can die of old age. I think it's around about 120. not entirely sure.
It's 150-170.
I don't care about idlers, atm I have around 70 out of 120 idling. Only the highest skilled dwarves do any jobs in order to get the best results possible, the rest just hang around being useless until they sometimes get drafted into the military.
I lock all the extra mouths periodically in the quarry and let them try to smooth the mapwide cave until they all die from cave monsters or dehydration

Enlist them all as stone detailers.
Smooth the FUCK out of EVERYTHING
then once that's done
ENGRAVE THE FUCK OUT OF EVERYTHING

Engraving with shit tier stone detailers isn't cost-effective, I'd rather use my two legendaries to get masterwork engravings all the time.
I have smoothed almost every available area though. That's why I use the pit.
You know how puppies tend to bite the ankles of passing dwarves, without any injury of course?
One just tore a tendon from my chief medical dwarf.
How do you forbid an item from a workshop? I'm trying to forbid plump helmets from the kitchen, so I can use them for alcohol and not lose the seeds. Any help?

You can change whether stuff is used for cooking or brewing or both there.

Some of you might remember this. Old gold.
An ambush happened. During the fighting, one of the dwarves decided to start hauling one of the goblins' corpses back to the refuse heap. I forbade the corpse, but instead of running away, he stood there in sight and attack range of the marksgoblins. One takes a shot straight at him, and of course it was an accurate shot. I look at his wounds after he got hit, and his only wound was a greyed out upper left back tooth. No blood, no pain, no bad thoughts. Just a missing tooth, which apparently he spat out on the ground after this feat. Had that molar not been hit, the throat or brain were next in line. Oh, and the arrow is missing, which I figure means either the tooth destroyed it or the dwarf was just really hungry.
That comic up there made me download DF. I'm going to fail so hard.

That sure sounds like some 100% legitimate advice right there.

Evil regions sound more difficult then they really are.

Well I'm chatting with Orkel via Steam.
World generating right now, he gave me some variables to change so it would be a little less spaghetti.
I just had spaghetti for supper.
Good luck Seiteki.

Remember to pack extra plump helmet seeds.
[sp] Espically when starting out in an evil area [/sp] :buddy:!
Is there any way to permanently mute DF? Every time I start it up the music is turned all the way back. Its kind of annoying when all I wanna do is listen to Alice In Chains.

Remove the music file from the data folder.

In the init files, you can turn the sound off.
Oh cool. Alright. Thanks guys.

Damn it. I need some migrants. I need a couple throwaway miners to dig a huge pit for my enemies to fall into.

Kind of a perfect fit, actually.
My leader was elected because he's an intimidator.
