Dwarf Fortress v13 - Orkel looses a roaring laughter, fell and terrible!

I just played with ASCII for a while, went back to tilesets and decided I'd rather play with ASCII
Victory!
Why would anyone want to remove something as badass as that?
Cause when a totally unskilled (In fighting) dwarf can put his fist all the way through an enemies head, its kinda boring.
Good GOD:
Imagine what the adventurer could possibly be thinking as he approaches the great stone walls of the city, stretching as far as he can see. Once inside, men and beasts fill the streets. He finds himself in a great wooden canyon of stores and shop fronts, all with signs advertising their wares. You should now begin to see the possibilities. Cities are so big you could have as many adventures as before without having to ever leave the city gates. But first the cities must be built and this is but the first stage from which to leap off into glory.
He plans on getting cities up and running by the end of this month. You know what this means? The current situation of pretty bland sleepy hamlets and small villages are over!

Congratulations! :buddy:
What the heck? My forgotten beast disappeared. I checked the unit list, and it's not living or dead.
Did it just get fed up and leave?

It must have ate itself. Like some sort of fucked up dwarven atom smasher.

I actually agree with you.

It's in an area that you haven't explored yet. When it comes back to an area you can see, you'll see it.
Okay. I just chopped down a tree that was blocking my main water source, and it sprayed out turkey and troglodyte blood.
I think my fortress is haunted guys.
ASCII is for real men.
Bitches don't know about my E elephants.

Trees that bleed would be good for evil areas.

Expect massive clusterfuck of peasants, FPS rape and massive, but completely undetailed house jungles :v:
Wild two-humped camels, yes! And luckily I brought a breeding pair of two-humped camels as well. Won't be in short supply of meat.

Only one level of soil? Oh fuck off

Oh shit man, watch out!
D
Swarm of GIANT BADGERS running over my lair.
Also, fucking soil down multiple floors. Just now hit stone and am making walls and doors I desperately need for my entrance.

Bah, looks nothing like it's supposed to.

I love soil, perfect for multilevel stockpiles, farming and quick, early construction.
Apparently there's a two-handed adamantine sword hanging out just north of my fortress. I should see about taking it.

Prepare for lots of Fun.
I hate soil. The only seeds I bring for my dwarves is plump helmet spawn, which can only grow underground.
Never had a topside farm, probably never will.

But soil is perfect for growing plump helmets

Thats a pretty dwarven outlook.

Every time I tried to grow them in soil, my fortress ended up starving to death.

what
Prepare for lots of Fun.
Yeah, that's what I figured. I can't find it though. Isn't there a screen that shows items around?
Apparently there's a two-handed adamantine sword hanging out just north of my fortress. I should see about taking it.
And how did you even see it? Are you using prospector?

I was flipping through menus and all of a sudden I saw <star>adamantine two-handed sword<star>

How many were you growing? I highly recommend bringing at least 60 plump helmet spawn with you upon embark.

Topside farms are only really useful for getting whip vine wine and sunshine.
That being said, I find having nice even plots of farmland on the surface to really add to the aesthetic scenery of the fortress, so they're included regardless.

Oh right, that visibility bug still hasn't been fixed.
Whats a good group to embark on? I'm usually going after industry on embark, and set my first group of migrants as my military.
