I really wish Toady would make wood things burn. Would be fun to set houses on fire in adventure mode. :v:
My expedition leader now has a pet birdy :3:
[editline]23rd January 2011[/editline]
oh my god this is hilarious
he stops every five seconds to catch this bird which then flies away as soon as he turns around.
I can imagine this in real life - him stuffing it in his pocket, it popping out again every couple of seconds, ahahaha
I never really got too far into the game, but I did have a lever menacing with spikes
Is there any way to avoid all dwarves dieing from thirst in winter?
drinks
If you have a plump helmet farm going, make a still and tell your bros to brew drinks, you'll need empty barrels
What devilry is this.
I just embarked on a volcano with the oddest combination of minerals ever.
The mountain itself is your standard obsidian/aluminum/alunite deal, however the ground below it is chalk, granite, marble, and gabbro.
I apparently have access to every single metal and rock in the game in one location, and all of them are (as I used DF Prospector) in large quantities.
This is the story of the fortress of Slaughterrags, strike the Earth!
God damnit how do I treat an infection?
God damnit how do I treat an infection?
You don't treat it, you prevent it. With soap.
If he already has an infection, you can just pray that he survives it. Most die.
God damnit, that's my axedwarf and wrestler D:
How do you equip things in Adventurer? Wear doesn't seem to work, and I can't do anything in the inventory.

Remove whatever is in place of the item you're trying to wear. For example, if you want to wear a breastplate, removing your robe and possibly your shirt will allow you to wear said breastplate. Equipping weapons means you have to pick them up with your hands. Drop whatever's in your hand currently along with the item you want to equip, and pick up the item you want to equip.
Also, my two miners just married eachother. :3:

Who makes Soap anyway, I never did and I just had someone get an infected head wound. They died in battle so it didn't count though.

If you don't want dwarves dying from tiny infected cuts in their nose then I suggest you make soap. All hospitals should have it.

He's asking how to make soap though.
And anyway, speaking of hospitals, I had two retarded dwarves. They both had bad injuries with their feet, and other bits, and so they were diagnosed as needing surgery. However, every time a dwarf would decide to go perform surgery on one of the two dwarves, they would get up rather than rest and crawl around, canceling the surgery due to 'not resting'. This carried on for about a year until of them succumbed to infection, the other one healed up on his own I guess.

Were the tables needed for surgery RIGHT NEXT to the bed? If so, that's your problem.
I was told there are now pandas I'm starting again.
Whats the best way to get your soldiers to spar? I've got them in uniform and on a proper alert level with a schedule and a barracks to train with but they only ever stand around and do individual drills or watch poor demonstrations. I've seen them physically spar with each other only once in passing.
Woah. My Legendary Crossbowman and his troops just got into a shoot-out with a horde of inexperienced Goblin Crossbow and Archers on a massive bridge over my pain-stakingly formed magma moat. All of his group but the Legendary Crossbowmen fell into the moat or died from their injuries, and the bridge was choked with blood and anguish. Many Goblins fell, but the flow of them never ceased. Finally, surrounded by a wall of corpses, a heavily wounded but still very mobile Troll tackled my grand hero off the bridge, but he managed to pierce the abomination's skull right as he bled to death.
To top it all off, my playlist switched to this during the fight.
:swoon:
Whenever I try and generate a new world, my DF gets an error and close :v: Anyone know how to fix this? It either freezes or it tells me one of the disks is incomplete.

His arms are too short to reach his ass
Have his surgeon attach new arms.
Can somebody embark near a river and upload the save to me?
I'm really having a trouble with all the water freezing. (I never have enough drinks)
Just gened a new world, the Dimension of Storms. Murderedboat just started!

Unlucky man. I never get frozen brooks/rivers. Are you sure you're embarking in a temperate climate?

I had that problem as well, but I just dug underground and got some water from an underground cave, a little risky but now I have no water troubles

Tried it,no water found.
Is it possible to rip someone's arm off and beat him/her/it to death with it in adventure mode? If so, how?
How come I read these awesome stories of sieges and beasts and wars and battles and stuff. But I never get these myself.
I may create most hostile world, embark to worst possible place, yet all I get is some Kobold thief or snatcher the worst. I want some action.
Any ideas ?
