I made a small danger room. Wasn't paying attention and put iron spears into it. Fun.
If i remember correctly its bars
It actually turned out to be furniture. Still, thanks.
Just genned a new world. "The Infinite Realm of Hurricanes". This should be Fun.
That reminds me, What if Toady puts in natural disasters? "A Vile force of darkness has arrived!" "A Hurricane has arrived!" :v:
Why does the wiki say that capybaras make sounds?
Because they do in real life.
But it really doesn't seem like that difficult of a location, other than the isolation. Aquifer, sure.
The volcano detracts from the aquifier tbh, Just let it go into the aquifier :v:.
Where on the island should I start? Right centered on the volcano?
Aquifers are evil and I've purged them from my game. No regrets.
They can swim. :downs:
They can swim. :downs: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/z7esf.png[/img_thumb]
Any chances we could get the seed info for that map? I really wanna try it.
Sure, just tell me how to retrieve it.
Sure, just tell me how to retrieve it.
Sorry, I have no clue. D:

This is my third or fourth webcam. I tend to lose them, so I just buy another one.
So, while trying to make a well, my miner tunneled into a lake at such a deep level, the pressure instantly filled the tunnel to 7/7. He casually swam out, almost 10 Z-levels from below, in a pool full of carp, and strutted back to his job. Also, I love circular rooms way too much. I can draw them by hand without a reference now, at any size. ;-;

What is this miner's name? He should have a hall of honor erected in his name.

If you have an infection in adventurer is there anything you can do about it?
I love how the conversation dies out the second anyone mentions Adventurer. Anywho, all of my dwarves are as happy as the game allows, and its not even the first Autumn yet. Hope this lasts.
If you have an infection in adventurer is there anything you can do about it?
You cannot do anything as an adventurer, you're fucked. Anyone remember that thread on Dwarf Fortress Forums in which one adventurer went down and traversed an entire clown fortress in which he lost both of his eyes, then attacked by a demon and fell down into hell itself but ended up alive. He ended up walking across the depths of hell for an entire hour with his eyes gone encountering no demons, my terms of Limbo.

The goblins are ambushing me in quick succession. Luckily my military is around 10 elite soldiers and 20+ crappily-armed, spartan trained recruits who I threw into danger rooms with wooden bucklers and copper weapons, sometimes with only one of those and sometimes without any.... Let's just say not all make it past basic training without permanent disabilities or even death. In battle- they work. Not only do they water down the enemy, they also help a little to keep the level of idle drunk dwarves in the main hall down. I lose about two of these guys every ambush... Haven't seen how they fare in a siege though.
