After a year... one of my dwarves who failed my spartan training and became a cripple because of it, comes back every now and then to stare at the quiet, currently abandoned training room, covered in dry blood. His blood. Picturing how the spears penetrated his thighs and arms... how they severed his toe and broke his bones. Poor guy.
He can still pull his weight, just make him a meat shield for the other soldiers.

Its like those Vietnam vets you see on the streets. Just all grizzled and legless. They just kinda walk around the fortress. Respect.
Embarked on a volcano and my wagon spawned in it. Oh well time to reclaim and hope for some better placement.
"So Urist McLeader, where should park the cart?" "Let's see, somewhere we can remember, somewhere noticable. Oh I know, the volcano!"
Looks like he wont survive the next years... During a siege he wasn't fast enough to run outside, so he's standing outside of the draw bridge, waiting for the trolls and goblins to devour him... [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] One of my squads happened to be trapped outside, but it was my short sword squad. You can't spell slaughter without laughter... Goblins and trolls are all dead. Cripple dwarf is even more crippled now.

Do upward slopes keep things up diagonally? Like this: ...I... ...I... .u..u. I is the pillar, u is the upwards slope. Will that give support? Because I'm trying to drop a pillar and try as I might it won't, and those slopes are the only thing that could be holding it up. I sure hope it doesn't, because those fuckers are under a lot of magma, going to be a pain in the ass to detach them.
I don't think so.
i have a problem with danger room often when i send a soldier in there he stands on the armor rack or weapon rack thats needed to make the barracks instead of the spears and when i use the move command he just stations outside [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] one of my miner dwarfs somehow broke his arm and leg when making a channel the other one made it out without injuries and no one is picking him up and getting him to the hospital

they had a path to him he just died
My artifacts keep being just a shoe or a glove. I just got a sandal that menaces with spikes of kimberlite, for fuck's sake.
so my militia captain got posessed and he havent claimed any workshop is there any way to find out what type he wants?
What skills does he have?
potash maker and dyer
so my militia captain got posessed and he havent claimed any workshop is there any way to find out what type he wants?
If he lacks any skills, then he needs a craftsdwarf's workshop.
Curse you ninjas!
he took a craftdwars shop thanks [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] wow what a grand artifact a limonite scepter
I have captured like 16 goblins in ambushes but what do I do with them now? I have read something about building an arena and then letting my soldiers use them as punching bags or whatever but is there anything else to do with them?
Dwarves fuck like rabbits, had to disable the "X has given birth" announcement pause because I could barely do anything otherwise (seeing as a dwarf is born every 30 seconds it seems).
A giant bat flew and disturbed my Diplomat, who left unhappy because of this, then when I sent my military to kill the giant bat, he flew down to the lava and my soldier jumped after. Damm dwarfs. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] There is this cat that reminds me of limpy or whatever. It is almost entirely fucked up, it walks slow as shit, its half dead and worst of all: I can't kill it! :suicide:
Just got sieged by some Goblins, or should I say a shitload of Goblins. Must have been around 25-30 Goblins (4 "squads" that appear on the edges of the map) and around 10-15 trolls. Trolls smash my solid Gold trade depot then run right into my traps, resulting in the entire hallway being coloured light blue. Then the Goblins arrive en masse and charge through the traps and right into my melee dwarfs. Result: 35 dead siegers (around 25 Goblins and 10 trolls) and 8 in cages. No Dwarven causalities.
a dwarf made a pine figurine with a picture of oddom quakeflies and a troll killing an elf in the siege of throwing the random picture generator is really random
Is there any way I can make my dwarves fire bolts at something but have the bolts not break? An archery target or something would be best.
Is there any way I can make my dwarves fire bolts at something but have the bolts not break? An archery target or something would be best.
No. Do not reuse bolts. It does not work properly at the moment.
My hunter is a sadist. He was creeping up on two Dralthas and as he was using a crossbow, he shot the first one in the leg making it stop. Then it fell over and he kept shooting the Draltha untill he ran out of ammo. Then he left. Poor Draltha.
No. Do not reuse bolts. It does not work properly at the moment.
It's not to reuse them. I just don't want to sell them in stacks of 25.
I guess dwarfs like to drink the blood of their enemies! Where the blood is, that is where the well is, and that Goblin happened to get pushed down during a siege. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] I got a hairy shrimp as a forgotten beast :whoptc:
you use a murky pool for a well? what the hell man
