It's not to reuse them. I just don't want to sell them in stacks of 25.
You can't re-stack them, so you'd be selling 25 stacks of 1 bolt. You can melt them down, though, that's a good use for 'em.
you use a murky pool for a well? what the hell man
Is there a downside to this? I've tapped some water off from a murky pool into a sort of reservoir then built a well in that. Is murky pool water dirty or something?

This just happened to me:
Is there a downside to this? I've drained tapped some water off from a murky pool into a sort of reservoir then built a well in that. There is a guide in the wiki how to do it, but I can't locate it right now [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] Saving bolts, I mean
Think of murky pool water like the pools of brown water you see after it has rained outside. Obviously it'll cause more infections than if you used clear, running water.
Also drinking from murky pools gives an unhappy thought iirc
I've drained some of the water into a bigger pool so I don't think it counts as murky pool water any more, hopefully at least
I need some random quips to be put at the top of the site. Examples so far: "At least 57 cats." "IT'S DWARVEN SCIENCE, DAMMIT." "Urist McDwarf cancels fear: envious of dead friend's socks."
There's a child that has already been taken by a fey mood once, and now he's going around removing buildings and stuff (designated ones, of course). He's going to be one hell of a dwarf when he grows up.
How can you remove building orders, like walls and fortifications? I keep having trouble with them.
How can you remove building orders, like walls and fortifications? I keep having trouble with them.
To remove stuff that has not been built yet, [q] then go over it, and [x] (I think). To remove pre-existing [C] buildings (walls, floors and so on) [d]-[n] then designate. To remove stairs and ramps, [d]-[z].
d > n [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] or if you mean shit that's still being built go over it with q and press x to cancel is, s to suspend it [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] fucking ninja cyborg captain
So, remember the friend with the hidden, "oh it's not in the df data folder!" save folder? It's in df/data/save
Why does this go on for around 3 pages :v: [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] It's annoying how cats start going on a killing spree when there are lungfish on the map. The area around the cart looks like a warzone [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] Great, expedition leader drowned in water of 1/7 I believe. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] New fortress then :saddowns:
Is it possible to disable specific error messages? I'm getting flooded with "drop-off inaccessible" messages.
Uh oh, are gaint eagles bad?
How does one drown in water up to your ankles?
Don't ask me, I'm not sure about it. He was busy with a channel while there was water of 1/7 near (on the floor above the lower part of the channel), so somehow, that ramp filled istelf very fast. Or he managed to fall over and land with his face in the puddle of water.
Uh oh, are gaint eagles bad?
Giant Eagles were once regarded as the scourge of the skies, since they can swoop down to attack Dwarves and usually leave before soldiers arrive, their beaks are incredibly sharp and prone to cutting off limbs (as well as their talons.) They make amazing glass cannons due to their thin frame though. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] Also, setting weather and temperature to "No" made my FPS go from normal to warp speed. I feel somewhat bad about altering temperature though, what with it's importance in making magma deadly, I'll be sure to turn that on whenever I'm dealing with it though.

I lag like hell whenever i dig channels over ten levels. Also, is it a good idea to have any invaders get knocked into my caverns? Its a 10-Z fall, so i doubt any would survive. (The cavern isnt connected to my fortress, its connected to the surface, outside my defenses.)

Its quite boring. I do have magma further below it, though. maybe i should keep channelling.

I saw the latest News post. Oh god I think I nearly creamed myself.
just reclaimed a fortress i accidently abanonded and everything is just randomly spread out
just reclaimed a fortress i accidently abanonded and everything is just randomly spread out
Yeah, that happens. Use lead containers if you know youre going to reclaim. EDIT: So, i got my first migrant wave a season ago, and everyone is still as happy as possible. I think this fort might not be so much Fun... EDIT AGAIN: And just as i say that, more migrants. An expert Jeweler and Butcher, and their pet Guineachick. Helpful. Its mid autumn and i havent gotten a caravan yet. Is that normal?
theres suddenly cave swallow men everywhere killing my dwarfs im sealing the caves off so i dont get my dwarves killed next time i reclaim
theres suddenly cave swallow men everywhere killing my dwarfs im sealing the caves off so i dont get my dwarves killed next time i reclaim
You might want to reclaim with some military dwarves and weapons then.
