I like to embark in a terrifying biome and build a small above-ground wooden compound with your original seven (with a basement for storage). Then I use the burrows feature to make every subsequent migrant wave build their own compound. [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] I wasn't aware that the time it takes building destroyers to destroy something was affected by the material it was made out of. Has it always been like that? I wonder how long it would take to bash down an adamantine door...
slade doors [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] Do war animals breed? I haven't had any new puppies in ages, and I want to train my giant desert scorpions
Can you actually mine slade. [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] 3000 posts :toot: [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] Gonna try the communism thing too once, wanna see what could happen with all labors enabled at everyone. [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] [quote]Due to slade being incorrectly classified as both a stone and a metal, nobles may occasionally mandate the production of slade items. Such a mandate may coincidentally come just before an unfortunate accident[/quote] Nobles even want unobtainable stone tables I guess :v:
My friend just named his fortress Ballsack... :smith:. [b]EDIT:[/b] Ballsack the Big Black Anus-Anus of Danger... Dear god.
As I'm not experienced with DF (played it several times, never got that deep with a fortress), I didn't know what the title ment. I do now :tinfoil:
Settled a fort in the desert, now the biggest problem is digging down to that aquifer so I can get some water. Correction, the biggest problem is getting down there then getting the water up real quick because the alcohol alone won't last very long.

I just have a river on my desert map, less of a pain in the ass that way.
[QUOTE=PunchedInFac;29065823]Wait a moment. How did a fort die if it lived in a peaceful/good area? Please check the engravings on the walls. Maybe those Macaques and rabbits cause some sort of apocalypse.[/QUOTE] Too late for that, I ended up ditching the hammerman since he could only bruise the skin on the heads of passed out rabbits. And fyi it was adventure edit: scratch that, found the fort again edit2: all the walls are rough; no engravings

IMO Orkel's balance fixes should be in the OP.
[QUOTE=Orkel;29070744]What material was your hammer made out of?[/QUOTE] It was a silver maul [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] oh lawds, I found a labyrinth, and there was a dead goblin and another goblin's fat all around the entrance. And someone keeps saying "I'm going to grind you into porridge!" Should I be scared? [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] [IMG]http://i54.tinypic.com/2h5ppfo.png[/IMG] Yep [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] Killed her and lost one foot, lost use of my right eye, and one of my fingers is hurt. Not too bad
Guys, what if, way back in our past, the same sort of artifacts were created? Would make sense, considering how nonsensical some pieces of history are. Past: This is a masterfully crafted clay pot. It is ringed with bands of iron and copper. Present: It's the Baghdad Battery! The mysterious clay pot that was able to conduct electricity before it was discovered!
So far my adventurer has killed around 100 humans, dozens of bogeymen, a few ogres, a hydra, a minotaur, a dragon, and a roc. The roc was by far the most difficult. (Although to be fair, I brought a pair of masons with me to fight the dragon, both of which died after absorbing dragon fire for me. Looked painful too, they were oozing from their whole body.)
So I've never played Adventure mode. I'm going to now.
I just had yet another siege. the season hasn't even ended yet and I've had two.

God damnit, why are all the forts in my world ruled by groundhogs?
So I found an actual cave in adventurer mode. Like, not a lair, but an actual cave. The kind that leads into the underground. Should I go in, or what?
Made a small pyramid as Sponge's tomb. [media]http://horobox.co.uk/u/Orkel_1302466451.png[/media] A gold sarchopagus with a gold statue of hulking trolls next to it is on the highest level.
How does one make stone pots? I tried to do what it says on the wiki, but I see no pots in the craft workshop.
[QUOTE=IAmAnooB;29071896]How does one make stone pots? I tried to do what it says on the wiki, but I see no pots in the craft workshop.[/QUOTE] it's under "rock" and there's a "pot" option.
Over a craftsdwarf workshop, q-g and the third one up from the bottom is pots.
