hah he walked into my courtyard so my archers in the towers could shoot him broke most of his bones and his guts are hanging out i think [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] i just killed it sent my cannon fodder squad in and while they were swarming him my elite archers killed him [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] gaaaah why does my retarded dwarfs drop everything when i give them some off duty time to relax
Well, I've killed three more rocs. They've been varying greatly in difficulty. One passed out from the pain after I tore the fat of his left leg in my first hit. The next one tore apart five of my followers limb from limb, and wouldn't give in to pain even when all of his body parts were utterly mangled. Had to take that one down with repeated stabs to the head. I think I'll go and adventure somewhere that's not pressed up against a huge mountain range. Too many horrid colossal birds out here, and I'm running out of adoring fans to sacrifice to them. Then again, watching a potash maker struggle in vain to kill a mythical monster with a copper butter knife is pretty entertaining.
I haven't played this since version 31.18, any major gamechanging additions?
I haven't played this since version 31.18, any major gamechanging additions?
31.25 is almost fully bugfree and playable.
Will dwarf caravans bring beds with them?
I feel accomplished

He had a copper butter knife and no armor, I first suspected his badassery when I traveled to a fort and he chased down and butchered a herd of gophers. Then later I was attacked by goblin spearmen all wearing metal breastplates and helmets. He singlehandedly killed 3 of them with his butter knife with barley a scratch on him.
Ahahahaha, my strange mood-ed potash maker just shat out a baby girl. She's still waiting for the skin, bones, and thread that is all around her.
i have 110 dwarves wich are making my fps fall down to 30ish so im going to make every one millitary and send them down into some dangerous cave
i have 110 dwarves wich are making my fps fall down to 30ish so im going to make every one millitary and send them down into some dangerous cave
Fuck that, bridge-a-pault into a mountain.
Fuck that, bridge-a-pault into a mountain.
how do i bridge a pault them into a mountain?
Make a bridge that raises up, put it near a mountain, make them get on it, connect to lever, pull lever. Bridge-a-pault.
wont that results in them all throwing tantrums?
i have 110 dwarves wich are making my fps fall down to 30ish so im going to make every one millitary and send them down into some dangerous cave
You can increase your FPS by turning temperature and weather off in the d_init file.
K, I recently started playing DF, got a small fortress and my first wave of immigrants. Problem is, my immigrants spawned in an area nearby on the other side of a cliff. Will they find their own way to my base or do I have to tunnel to them or something?

I think they should be able to get to my base. [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] Never mind, the Dyer found his way somehow, so I assume the rest will yet. [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] Is there any way to set a new congregating point?
My first goblin ambush, 2 crossbow goblins killed 1 dwarf killed 1 dwarf paralyzed.

[editline]9th April 2011[/editline] Is there any way to set a new congregating point?
If you have a dining hall, you can set it as a meeting hall. The other option is to set an area as a meeting zone (press i, then designate the area you want to be a meeting zone, then press m after placing it.)
And if you set zones instead of a meeting hall, your dwarves won't party all the time.
And if you set zones instead of a meeting hall, your dwarves won't party all the time.
To counteract the loss of happiness due to no parties, just add some really nice tables to your dining hall.
I need to arm all my dwarves with steel weapons already, so they don't charge out into battle with barrels of booze anymore. Kinda annoying.
To counteract the loss of happiness due to no parties, just add some really nice tables to your dining hall.
My dining hall is a big unsmoothed rectangle but for some reason it is considered legendary.
I need to arm all my dwarves with steel weapons already, so they don't charge out into battle with barrels of booze anymore. Kinda annoying.
But you'll get legendary Misc. Object Users!
But you'll get legendary Misc. Object Users!
Eh, but what's more effective? I like effectiveness. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] hooray, bedroom designs~ thanks informative man
quite a good fps you have.
Gah! I need sand! Loads and loads of sand. But it seems I have none on my map. And the caravan will most likely arrive with a new siege. Damn noble wanting a clear glass window in his dining room. Already gave him a freakin' steel door, which had to sit inside the room. Wasn't good enough that it was one of the entrance doors.
Anyone else here using Ironhands/Wormslayers? I just love the dwarves in that graphics pack, but for some reason, I get completely black tiles for some stuff (for example, water wheels). Is that normal? If so, a shame, I really love the looks of this pack.
quite a good fps you have.
happens with 0 fps limit, and then pausing the game. :v: [editline]10th April 2011[/editline]
Gah! (nobles are jerks)
