Gah! I need sand! Loads and loads of sand. But it seems I have none on my map. And the caravan will most likely arrive with a new siege. Damn noble wanting a clear glass window in his dining room. Already gave him a freakin' steel door, which had to sit inside the room. Wasn't good enough that it was one of the entrance doors.
Arrange a fortunate accident. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] Fortunate for you, that is.
someone give me motivation to play this again... I really like the endgame content like sieges and shit but I hate the microing you have to do in the beginning :(
water wheels operated by kitten blood
water wheels operated by kitten blood
there's no way I can't play now i must go forth
so my dwarfes takes pieces of meat claims ownership then they drop them in my fortress so they produce miasmia an no one dumps it beacuse someone owns it
Defeat the siege, take the sand from the corpses. (nobles are jerks)
Oooh, good idea. I had a good bit of Fun right now though... My sole entrance is the one with the pressure-controlled bridge-over-pit-trap. A whole bunch of trolls and goblins where down in the pit from the last siege. I just ordered some channeling to be done outside my fortress, to make a waterfall in a few of my rooms. Just as the Legendary Miner, one of the original seven, was on his way out to do that, he met a goblin snatcher. Who tripped the pressure plates. So he fell into the pit. He somehow managed to fall without breaking any bones (mostly since he cushioned his fall by landing on goblins and trolls), but he got attacked pretty bad. I was thinking of just letting that be, but he actually survived with small injuries, although falling unconscious now and then. Seemed the goblins and trolls got kinda scared of him, so they left him lying in the corridor near the walled of stairs out. So I removed that wall to save him. All hell broke loose. Goblins and trolls tried to run out, they tripped the pit again, taking soldiers with them down. My entire military ended up with broken bones, several dwarves died, blood and guts everywhere... then the game crashed. Even though he demands stupid stuff.
blahblahstory
sounds like good fun. the best kind of fun. My most recent fun was just stupidity on my part. 5 dwarves died from thirst. One was crippled by a forgotten beast so he was no big loss. (nobody brought him water). 2 were random dwarves that died from thirst on their way over to a drinking spot, and then the last 2 were masons that walled themselves in, and then died of thirst. I of course, did not notice any of the stuck dwarves, or the fact that everyone in the fort was thirsty because the topside water sources froze. no big loss.
just got my second forgotten beast it was a noseless eight legged panda wich didnt even manage to kill any dwarves
A human diplomat arrived, and instantly died. what.
all my dwarves that are in the hospital is dieing beacuse of the miasma that i cant find the source off [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] just killed my third forgotten beast and the second i canceled the kill order as it had been finished every millitary dwarf just dropped their weapons and armor in the cave why are they so stupid?
I thought of a fix for the whole dungeon master bug, couldn't you just make it appointable by the baron? That is when you are supposed to get one, after all.
I thought of a fix for the whole dungeon master bug, couldn't you just make it appointable by the baron? That is when you are supposed to get one, after all.
Well, yeah, if you want one so bad, just mod him in again somehow. Sorry, but again: Anyone? :/
Anyone else here using Ironhands/Wormslayers? I just love the dwarves in that graphics pack, but for some reason, I get completely black tiles for some stuff (for example, water wheels). Is that normal? If so, a shame, I really love the looks of this pack.
my militia commander got possessed and is now gathering rope reed cloth in the weaver's workshop (why couldn't it be my GCS silk? damnit). I expect an artifact sock.
I thought of a fix for the whole dungeon master bug, couldn't you just make it appointable by the baron? That is when you are supposed to get one, after all.
Champion is appointable too but it never appears.
Dumping a picture of my old 300 Sparta fort. The pit goes strait to hell. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] I like above ground forts, I do not like building the roof however.
I like above ground forts, I do not like building the roof however.
Toady really needs to implement a roof construction. Like collect reeds and use it to thatch the roofs.
Toady really needs to implement a roof construction. Like collect reeds and use it to thatch the roofs.
And I'd prefer if I didn't have to build temporary stairs to build the dang thing as well. Would rather build it from floor one.
Also, it's alot easier to just build bridges as roof. It accomplishes the same thing as floor.
Also, it's alot easier to just build bridges as roof. It accomplishes the same thing as floor.
I never thought about that.
Is it possible to turn cloth back into thread?
it looks bad and it'd eternally bug me, taunting me for being lazy [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] Goblin siege of 7 trolls and ~37 or so goblins. Shouldn't have any trouble.

removed the "coward" tag from all invaders via Runesmith, let's hope it stops them from fleeing when one of them cracks a nail [editline]10th April 2011[/editline]
I'm guessing you're not updating because you're crying due to the goblins punching through armor and everything, hitting the brains.
I have Orkel's fixes. And all the melee dwarves I allocated to the fight are legendary dodgers. And armor users. And shield users. And biters. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] heh, the goblin pikemaster lost both his arms in the first strike of the swordsdwarf [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] Okay, removing the "coward" tag didn't stop them from running. But now the troll squad is here. Get ready for >implications [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] Aaaand it's over. Not a single casualty (or even wound) on my side, five goblins escaped, and one troll. I managed to catch one troll in a cage trap as well, woohoo. Should I drop it from the splattertower (40+ Z-level drop into a large room) or pit it against one of my trainees?
splatter him from 40 tiles of height into room of your trainees
Sorry but the shaft doesn't go into the barracks, only to the splatterzone Oh, and anyone who is looking at me weird because of my legendary biters, they're really good. Seriously.
My weaponsmith got a fey mood and made a gold warhammer. woo

They randomly gain it while sparring, they just sparred for five years straight
Fucking forgotten beast
How can I loose a roaring laughter, fall and terrible?
