I finally recieved my PSVITA. Sort of disappointed that I can't download most of the PSP and PS1 games I've purchased from my PSP. But I'm really impressed with it. Except that the tiny buttons make it terrible for fighting games.

Most PSP games can be downloaded by opening the store and going to downloads under the "..." button. Otherwise you can download them to your PS3 and transfer them from there using the content manager.
The interface on this thing is incredible. So freaking slick. Have they said anything about when Skype is coming yet? It's on their list
I tried one out at the local electronics retailer and too be honest I wasn't too impressed. Nothing worked without a memory card which isn't included and overpriced as fuck and there were barely any games worth playing, let alone paying for and IMO their app store makes iOS's look open. The only game I really want at the moment is LBP and they haven't even announced when it will be released. Is it possible that there will be third party memory cards any time soon, because if not and Sony doesn't make them significantly cheaper I don't want a Vita. They shouldn't cost more than µSD cards. I'm also really annoyed by how they try to make us buy all our games a second time. That's fucking bullshit. When I'm buying a game I buy it to support the developer, but when I already bought it there is zero reason for me to buy another copy, especially when I'm buying the license the play it (which I already have) instead of actually owning it. Overall it feels like Sony is using its monopoly on anything Vita related to milk the customers and I really, really hate being milked. Oh, and two more things. Why does it cost 50$ more in Europe than the US and why did they cripple the 3G on the Vita so bad? No video streaming, no downloading apps and I wouldn't be surprised if we couldn't even play most MP games using 3G.
There are plenty of good games, its only launch and not many releases have ever had much good games at launch.
There are plenty of good games, its only launch and not many releases have ever had much good games at launch.
Then why don't they let us play our old PS1 and PSP games on the Vita (without buying them again)
Anyone else win a vita from Taco Bell and receive it?
Haha, I remember those radio ads for that.
Then why don't they let us play our old PS1 and PSP games on the Vita (without buying them again)
It's still the early stages of the Vita. PSX playback is coming soon, and so is PS2 Classics playback(according to an old article with Sony on the Vita's emulation capabilities).
YAY vita in my country is u$s 465 + taxes

If you bought a regular cheap one, it would take an extremely long time to install games after you've downloaded them, it will take extremely long to load content from it, and it would take long to read or load saves.

Even a Skyrim save would take about a second to load from my cheap µSD and I can certainly live with slightly longer install times if the storage is 2x cheaper.
ya speed is a bullshit argument
haha reality fighters is kickass :v: Also, damn I expected the browser to be godawful but it's honestly not that bad. It does everything that isn't flash pretty well from my experience. (Even runs some flash apps) Then again, the previous mobile web browser I used was on an older Nokia.

[sp]$$$[/sp]
i think it's more about consistency and speed than money, because it's really better to develop for something that you know is going to run the same in all machines. for instance, if you're trying to implement something like asset streaming in your game then the speed of the storage device is going to have an impact on the game's performance, which would suck if you had a slow sd card to run your games off of.

Class 10 MicroSD cards cost way less than the PSVita cards and are probably faster (Judging by the shitty transfer speed between PC and Vita). If the user putting in a shitty card was a concern just have a warning saying using a slow card will cause stuttering. Plenty of other devices that take SD cards could also have this problem i.e phones, tablets, the 3DS, cameras (Burst rate is dependant largely on memory card speed so they put an explanation in the manual and call it a day). The reason is money. That is all. That is why MS, M2 etc. exist as well. They sell the hardware at a loss or very low profit (And still not enough to recoup development costs) and make their money back from licensing and accessories.
Gravity Rush coming June 12th for US, and June 13th for EU. http://www.gamesradar.com/gravity-rush-release-date-north-america-june-12-eu-gets-ps-vita-game-june-13/ I'm glad I imported mine, I wouldn't have been able to stand the wait. I wanted a Vita for the supposedly "launch day" Gravity Rush, not "4 months after".
Is it not possible to bluetooth pair my PC to my Vita? I get an error message when I try.
Is it not possible to bluetooth pair my PC to my Vita? I get an error message when I try.
The only thing you can use the Bluetooth for is headsets. If your PC supports the Bluetooth headset profile it should work. I used to be able to use my iPod through my netbook this way but I haven't tried it with the Vita.
Dang. It'd be nice if they made the Content Manager work over bluetooth.
It's already painfully slow over USB, I don't think it would be practical to use it over Bluetooth which would be even slower. WiFi would be cool though.
Dropbox-like utility would be beyond awesome
I hope the browser gets a copy/paste feature some time.
If you hold L or R in the browser and slide your finger across some text it will copy. I'm not entirely sure how to paste though.
thanks! [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline] okay I can mark text, but from there I have no idea what to do
You can take In-game pics on the Vita?
Press the start button and the PS button at the same time
