PS Vita - 299 US Dollars, 299 US Dollars, 299 US Dollars

$10.15 Canadian Dollars is around £6.30
Minimum wage for workers aged 21+ in the UK is £5.93 (The highest minimum), so no - by that logic it should be cheaper here. It's Sony being Sony again.
I really hope they don't update the hardware. Nothing is worse than buying a handheld or other device only for a new version with a lot of new features to be announced months later.
I hope that most of the games with multiplayer include internet (or whataever you call it) multiplayer, one of the thigns I hate from the PSP is that most of the games only have local multiplayer
Also, the retail games will come on some kind of SD cards right?

Sorry our minimum wage is 10.25, my mistake. That means about 29 hours of work for a PSV.
Then 5.93 in the UK means about 50 hours...holy shit.
Now that we've cleared this up I feel very bad for UK. I mean seriously. That is almost twice as much work for the same thing..And they can't say it's shipping costs because technically speaking, it all comes from China or some shit.

So by my calculations, it SHOULD roughly cost you guys 173.
The launch games are good, it's just that most of them are "ports" or experimental games. But I don't have anything to complain about because there was an MGS game confirmed.

Some kind of SD yes. CDs are a thing of the past. For instance, I have a 32GB thumb drive. The drive itself is probably no bigger than a DS cart. So i'm sure sony thought by this logic that carts, or similar are the way to go if they intend to really pack their games full of data. I love this idea. No more noisy CDs.
There was also a Lost Planet confirmed for it.

I expect them to update the hardware. They always do. Everybody. Cell phones, tablets, computers, consoles, portables. You name it, it has several hardware upgrades.
Though if you're smart and intend on doing some homebrew, you get the first one to come out because it'll be easiest to crack and have the most support.
Please keep in mind however, I support the homebrew scene, not warez.
Portable 3rd was confirmed for it way before E3.
Really? Fuck.
Guess that's another 300 bucks.

I think they'll get more sales on launch if they don't have any hardware updates in the future.
PS Vita-Saw

And customer satisfaction will be much higher. Nobody likes having to upgrade every year.
It better not be ~$400 here like the first PSP was

Except your logic is wrong. Many of the major european countries have 8+ pound/euro minimum wages.
I do not understand the rear touchpad at all. I guess you could press it with your fingers but won't they be there all the time anyway?
PSP is okay but games suck.
PSPGo Sucks all together.
DS is okay, but also limited by lack of games.
PSV Looks pretty good, very powerful. Games are a hit or miss.
3DS is an okay idea, can't say I like the 3D, but there are NO games. At all.
Right now I'm more inclined on getting a PSV than a 3DS. I already have a DSi and PSP-3, but the PSV seems like it upgrades enough to warrant me adding it to my collection, where as the 3DS adds 3D. That's it. I can live without 3D.
Have you actually played any of those handhelds? Like seriously
Fuck to the yeah.
I do not understand the rear touchpad at all. I guess you could press it with your fingers but won't they be there all the time anyway?
You use the fingers that you grasp it with, the back three fingers instead of the front two with you would use for the controls.
I realize that. But in Europe, depending on peoples wages ($10.15 minimum wage in Canada) i thought it safe to assume that difference wouldn't matter.
[editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
But there are no exchange rates. They advertized it as costing £299/€299 in Europe.
[editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
Someone just tell me Europes minimum wage already so we can settle this. Because right now I don't see a problem at all.
Why can you not wrap your head around the concept of exchange rates?
Have you actually played any of those handhelds? Like seriously
Yes actually I have. Except for the PSPGo and the 3DS. The PSPGo had too many bad things being said about it and it didn't have compatibility with UMDs, so I was forced to buy PSN points. I Don't like that idea so I stuck with PSP for cheaper.
As for the 3DS, I hate 3D. It isn't worth it. The only time I want to see "3D" is in the theater. I don't care how cool people think it is, it's annoying.

Why can you not read my posts after the discussion to see that I admitted I was wrong?
Is anyone really more interested in the 3G version than the Wifi only version? For $250 I think that is some pretty nice pricing.
Except your logic is wrong. Many of the major european countries have 8+ pound/euro minimum wages.
Hey I don't care. I tried being nice, and I tried learning about other countries. But since you guys want to rip on me fuck it. Keep your fucking $490 price tag.
PSVITA got no game
This again?
I can't even find this funny at all.

When I said this, what I mean by it is that, that should be what they expect you to pay instead of 299 pounds. Who's the dumb ass now?
For all those people bitching about it costing more in the UK. If you want we can trade minimum wages and you can have your PSV for less. I'll take 6 pounds an hour over 4.40 any day.

Implying the ONLY wage is minimum wage. Anyone that gets paid equal to at least the minimum wage in the UK (when converted) will have to pay an extreme amount less.
EDIT: Also, EastBayWilly, nobody holds anything personal, it's just that you are confused about the concept of an exchange rate - let me explain it. A pound, the currency in the UK is worth more than a dollar, but me, in the UK, have to effectively pay more than anyone in the US, since a pound is harder to obtain than a dollar.
I'm kinda interested in this, but i sure as hell won't buy it new, never gonna support sony again.
I'm kinda interested in this, but i sure as hell won't buy it new, never gonna support sony again.
Then why buy it at all?
Then why buy it at all?
Because i like the specs of it, and there might be some good games on it. And maybe homebrew if it gets hacked.

Plus 3D images are likely to give you headaches and nausea... i know been playing Black ops zombies in 3D it kicks ass but man the headaches hurt but its worth it!
