uncharted: golden abyss is finally on amazon canada and for 40 bucks instead of 50, yay
[editline]22nd January 2012[/editline]
also rayman origins is on there and set to release on february 14
Just preordered my copy of Golden Abyss. Will actually get here a week before my Vita (Because they're releasing the games early for the first edition guys), so I'll just have to stare at the game for a week wishing I could play it.
Im reallly hesitant about getting this cause the analogue sticks look like they are too sensitive (I mean like if you tried to aim at someones head you would end up moving the crosshair past their head then back then past and it would be really hard to be accurate), and you cant really fix that through software.

Yea you can...what games(FPS) have you played where you can't adjust the sensitivity?
I'm hesitant because I've heard a lot of bad things about it. At first I wanted it. Very badly. Then I heard about all the crap you need to buy with it just to use it. And then the launch titles, there aren't really any that interest me. I think the device is cool, but I also think they could have done so much better with it.
Anyone still on the fence, looks like Sony is making one final bundle available for US Launch.
[url=http://vita.ign.com/articles/121/1217392p1.html]SOURCE[/url]
$300 gets you a 3G/Wifi Vita
8GB Memory Card
Voucher for a free PlayStation Network game (Game not yet known)
Free month of 250MB 3G service via a "DataConnect Session Pass."
Still sticking with my Wifi Vita, but for anyone getting the 3G version, this is definitely the one to get at launch.
thank god it comes with a memory card for free now
[editline]27th January 2012[/editline]
you're better off paying $20 more for 3g as that version also has GPS (after factoring memory card prices)

Sound's really good.
I'm getting a Vita mostly for Gravity Rush and the future possibility of a Monster Hunter title.

EDIT:
Also! [url=http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12577952]ToysRUs is selling Golden Abyss for $40.[/url]
I actually got Amazon to credit $10 back to me on my preorder, which is pretty sweet. Might use the extra cash on buying the screen protectors or/and a case.
EDIT: And ToysRUs is now selling Uncharted for $50. I guess a few of us are lucky to have gotten it for $40 while it lasted.
Came into work today to find we have a PS Vita for demo-ing. It's great fun and I got t play Modnation Racers and Wipeout. Both are AWESOME.
However the store in Liverpool has already had theirs stolen. Typical Liverpool :v:

Isn't there supposed to be a Killzone game too? OR was that only a demo.
has any CFW come out for the vita yet
not buying until CFW

They are making one exclusive to the vita.

I, for one, am not going to mod my Vita AT ALL, nor will I pirate any Vita games. Don't wanna risk bricking this beautiful piece of technology/ruining the industry. People wonder why no one developed for the PSP...
No one developed for the PSP because no one bought games for the PSP. Yeah homebrew enabled people to pirate, but I knew plenty of people who had unhacked PSP's who only owned like two or three games. Most of those people hacked their PSP's after giving up hope of ever getting good games.

piracy didn't kill the PSP, what are you talking about?

the only reason I bought a PSP was to hack it and throw a ton of emulators on it. I wouldn't have bothered if there was no CFW.
The Uncharted game looks as good as the original. I'm excited

I'm not familiar with the source, but it seems as if the Vita is getting a Monster Hunter Game. Not sure if it's going to be an original title for the system or a port, but still potentially good news for series fans.

Most of the games at launch were good. I would even say that they were console quality since they were ports (Tony Hawk, SSX, Medal of Honor, etc.).
Hopefully, Sony's SDK will meet the needs of the people who resorted to hacking it.
Well it wasn't that there weren't good titles for PSP looking back on it's library now (In fact, there are a lot of good games), it's just that they were so inconsistently released, and were periods of large droughts where they was absolutely nothing, which sort of led to people hacking their devices so they could play something on it.
At launch though? I remember the best game being Twisted Metal, it had online play I believe which I remember being blown away at the time.
16 days til first edition release. 23 for launch.
why is this thread so dead? also, i feel like sony isnt sufficiently advertising their product. people i talk to havent even heard of it, besides initial rumors from last years E3.
wait i can get vita on the 16th?
i thought it was just feb 22 for all vitas

Only if they plan on buying games on PSN. Still neat to see.
What is the maximum size the Vita Carts can hold? I think it's around or over 4gb, but I'm not sure.
Help me understand; So when we buy the game, is it some kind of download thing, where it downloads to a memory card for you to play whenever and its tied to your account, or do we play with the game card in?
Confused, man.

games work like on the 3ds
[editline]31st January 2012[/editline]
so i tried out a vita demo today...
the gamestop jerkasses installed the station wrong and the vita didn't have a charge.
but i do like the clicky buttons and the joysticks
and it also feels lighter than a 3ds, even with the metal locking bar they put on it (it's just tethered to the wall with a steel cord)

boxed copies might be worth it if you don't want to spend hundreds on overpriced memory cards
it's only 3 or 4 more dollars per game
