Anyone wanna make a guide for people who keep dying ):
Anyone wanna make a guide for people who keep dying ):
1. Make character with good stats
2. Fight monsters that are the same (if not a small amount higher) level as you
3. Do "Before it's too late!", "Book delivery", "A small token", etc. quests that pay well but you know you can get to the place/person ON TIME
4. Not die

I wish I could give you a zing or a gold star.
Pet AI is godawful.
Pet AI is godawful.
In all three of the games I've started, my pet has died during the first random encounter. I don't want to spend 10,000 gold to resurrect them, so I'm just going pet-less in my games. If I ever had that much money, I'd be spending it on something like an expensive scroll because my armor got cursed while I was asleep, or on shit-tons of food because apparently there's a black hole where my character's stomach should be, or on getting things identified.
Is there a way I can gain a permanent ability to identify things? As it is, I'll do a quest, and all the money I get from that quest goes toward identifying the items gained from the quest. If I'm lucky, there's enough left over to buy a meal. I assume there's a spell for it, but I currently don't have the slightest idea how magic works in this game.
Also, what the hell does potential mean? Why is there a number and a percentage next to all of my skills? What do those mean? Do I want to be trained in a skill where my potential is low or high? Can I learn new skills? It makes no sense to me.
So I've also had the problem of all the townspeople teleporting all over town like crazy. What I hear I need to do is take their cursed equipment away from them, but I don't know how. Do I need the pickpocket skill? What do I do?
Is this game always so painfully hard?
Oh, and here's a nice WTF moment to see:

There's an identify spell you can learn if you're some sort of mage (you read books to memorize spells). The next best thing is the Sense Quality skill. Alternatively you can scum the puppy cave for identification items.
I don't experience identification to be as expensive as you describe it, but try investing in the Negotiation skill if it remains a problem.

The potential of a skill is how fast it increases. A trainer can increase the potential of a current skill for you, as well as teach you new ones. My current strategy is to invest my coins in new skills and increase them naturally. When you're increasing skills after a level up, increase the skills with high potential.

Only way I know of is the pickpocket skill.

No.
Now how do I fix a doomed item? I really need to stop sleeping, because every time I do, some item gets cursed/doomed. Will scrolls of uncurse work on them? I've used three and had no luck, but I'll stop buying them if I need to do something else.

Scroll of Uncurse needs to be blessed to remove doom.
Scroll of Vanish Curse can undoom anyway.
I must say it is quite interesting what my character likes and what not.
Once I ate some sort of stick bread laying around and my character puked his intestines out. Then I ate a raw small shield while starving and he took it rather well.
Can you eat shit while starving, things you could normally not eat or is a stick bread less delicious than a shield?
This guy wanted to give his child garbage as a birthday present once in my game.
Loofiloo, it only costs 15 gold to revive a pet at level 1, and since yours apparently died in the first enouncter, that's all it will cost.
wtf I drank from a fountain and a Dark Hound came out of it. Tough shit, killed me with some AOE spell while a ran around like a whiny girl hoping the citizens would kill it.
Btw, why are all the positions on the city chart empty?
I think I remember playing elona a year ago and there were people on it.. or did I just imagine that?
Just started a new game, went to Vernis, stopped by the bar, and there was a Stradivarius lying on the floor from a dead bard.
Thank you, Loyter.

Get a whistle. Wake everyone up with it, no karma loss but some NPC's may attack you. It's worth it though if you get to escape ether disease.

Awesome! Where do I get one?
I was told 10,000 by whoever brings back pets...
Uhm... Maybe if it's level 10 or something. Mine is lvl3 and it costs 135 each time I bring the little girl back to life. Dies far to often, the girlthing is only good to kill thieves that try to run towards me or public performers who run away if one gets too close to them

Pets are extremely useless in this game, that needs to be fixed.
How much fame is bad? Monster levels depend on fame, don't they? I've got 494 fame with level 7

Bash them awake (two karma loss).
Didn't want to do that, thought they would kill me ^^

How can I repair my stuff? My awesome skythe has -11 on damage and my katana I used since then has -6 :(
I was told 10,000 by whoever brings back pets...
You were talking to the investigator, he shows your pets skills for 10000 gold.
You need to go to the pub and talk to the bartender to revive him.

Use scrolls of enchant weapon/armor. It will add a +1 modifier until +2 (+4 blessed).
Also, what do y'all mean pets are useless? I run around with 3 little girls decked out in godly/special weapons and armour and they rock/tank the shit out of everything near (and slightly above) the levels I can handle myself.
