NOBODY said that. What the hell are you smoking? People were wanting to toss money at Apple for an ipad before it was even officially announced.
Pretty late reply, but just look at this for example. A LOT of people suspected that the iPad would be a complete failure.
I don't like codemasters anyway.
Have fun going bankrupt Codemasters :)
This will only piss off gamers more and turn them to piracy. I mean, look at the benefits: +Pirates are able to disable all DRM that hurts the honest customer! +Dont pay for content that was on the disk already! Its a steal! I mean, hot dog! Its as if they want to get their products pirated. Treat your customers nicely. Some pirates actually have some morality. They'll pirate a game from activision, but they'll legitimately buy games without question from companies/developers that care. Trying to get every single buck from the customer will only encourage legitimate buyers to ENJOY the game AND not pay for it. Piracy is illegal and I frown upon it. But the lure of it will grow so long as you keep screwing the customer.
I remember playing Clive Barker's Jericho, and noticing that they set it up so that you'd have to pay for cheat code inputs. Not for the cheats themselves, mind you. You gave them money, told them what cheat you wanted to use, and they'd send you a message along the lines of "Up up b a down left." I think they're just a little... special when it comes to "DLC".
If they pull this off, they're GENIUSES. I mean, if you can get people to buy crap like that you deserve some sort of reward.
Can someone remind me of a recent and decent game Codemasters has even made? Please? Thanks.
Micro Machines (until they released V4, that is)
