I want this so badly.
I still wish for a mech game where you can build it from the ground up.
This this this, and no easy kid-friendly building either. Oh and no health bars, use the same system Men of War used for tanks.
biggest problem with online fpses and shit: Lack of players mnc isn't a fps, okay, but its biggest problem is that not enough people play it
mnc?
mnc?
Monday Night Combat I'm guessing

Simply awesome. Im loving that slum like area.
reminds me of district 9, strongly
Reminded me of one of the Rokkaku-Dai Heights in Jet Set Radio Future, where everything was shipping containers stacked up as housing then built up around. I waited for years for a Phantom Crash sequel since I had the original on the xbox, and from the look of it this is its spiritual successor
Reminds me of Phantom Crash, except not focussed on stealth. Will be keeping an eye on this.
:respek:
I just absolutely love the slums map. It's gorgeous, this entire games is gorgeous! I love the fact that it's an indie game and it puts some of today's commercial games to shame. Just goes to show.
Reminds me of Phantom Crash. I fucking LOVED Phantom Crash. [editline]31st March 2011[/editline]
Reminds me of Phantom Crash, except not focussed on stealth. Also, there was a PS2 only sequel called S.L.A.I.: Steel Lancer Arena International. Why it was a PS2 exclusive when Phantom Crash was a Xbox exclusive I'll never know.
Looks like a more casual mechwarrior, control wise. When I saw those huge buildings, I was kind of hoping for larger mechs. Either way, it looks really awesome.
I thought the engine was cryengine or some shit, and I was like "fuck I won't be able to run this." Then I saw it was Unreal and I was like, "WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK THIS LOOKS AMAZING, AGHAGHSKSBBLBBL." This is raising the bar in my opinion. The shading looks amazing, the mapping looks amazing, and the gameplay looks badass.
I'll admit it looks awesome, but it's still not the iwasusingrobotsasacatchalltermformechanicalwarmachinesjesus game I'm looking for. All the ones out there right now - including this one - seem to focus more on the simulationist aspect, and if not that they at least have the boring, realistic, slow-moving mech, only getting momentary bursts of speed with their annoyingly low-fuel jetpacks or jetskates or whatever. When are we going to get a good mecha FPS? Hell, when are we going to get a good mecha game that isn't turn-based? WHERE IS IT, GAMES INDUSTRY? WHERE? IS? IT? [sp]still buying this though[/sp] (Will this post get boxes? Place your bets now!) (Also, just to make clear, I'm distinguishing here between mech (i.e. realistic) and mecha (i.e. Japan), which I know isn't really the correct usage)
Hate the fact that these are mechs you're fighting with. They look stupid.
good

mecha
Pick one.
A small indie team in 9 months..... motherofgod.jpg i want it now
I want to love how this game looks, but as much as I am a fan of mechs, it looks like any other FPS but with Mechs. If there was a mod that replaced the models with ones from games like CoD the only difference would be shooting rockets off your shoulders and using a jetpack. They need something unique, maybe a leash-like weapon from Bulletstorm.
:jerkbag:
Small... indie... team... nine... months... how?
Well shit, this looks amazing.
Pick one.
Shogo: MAD was a decent Mecha-based FPS. It was entertaining if lacking in a little polish. I may get some hate, but I also enjoyed the Heavy Gear games.
If this is what they can do in nine months, I can't wait to see the finished product <3
I'm in love, I'll be certainly keeping a close eye on this one... the environments are stunning.
Sold.
I think, pertaining to gameplay, that only objective-based gametypes should be available. The problem with a lot of mutliplayer shooters these days is that there's really creative and enjoyable gametypes but they're always left in the dark because everybody wants to play team deathmatch. I think the biggest reason counter-strike became a hit was because it wasn't deathmatch oriented -- it was objective oriented. A lot of games would be better without a super basic and carefree gametype like that because it's generated for little boys and not men who are coerced in to working with one another to accomplish a set of goals. I would be perfectly OK if Hawken featured only objective-based gametypes that isn't "first team to kill 150 mechs wins" and I am pretty sure everybody who's mouth has watered at this agrees.
Sadly, this is not the Chromehounds type game I hoped it was going to be... but it does still look pretty damn awesome, and I will be following it.
Looks alright. I wouldn't play it as is though. Too much twitch too little tactics. Hud and map look fantastic though. Overall this reminds me of ghost in the shell combined with lost planet. Overall this reminds me of ghost in the shell combined with lost planet.
Judging from the video itself and the seemingly infinite jetpack as well as the intensely fast turning speed it's believable that the coding just isn't done yet or they left out important components to the game it's just unbelievable to see this as another pointless "kill everything as quickly as possible" title even though the maps look like your standard deathmatch coup-de-grace
A flood of cum is traveling down the leg of my pants
also judging from the gameplay video you can blatantly tell it's played with a game controller and now mouse/keyboard, so it makes me wonder if it's being made for consoles too
If you can't tell that it is being played using a controller you're either really stupid or you think that people aim in boxes on PC. (Controllers can do a Box better whereas Mice can do a Circle better)
