I use a controller when I use tanks and other vehicles, so depending on how the mechs handle I might use a mouse and keyboard or a controller.
compare the gameplay footage of black ops. it plays pretty much exactly the same except with jetpacks it's def just going to run like another unreal tournament style game unless the devs intentionally make it clunkier which would be awesome
This game would go great with TrackIR.
The Cockpit view looks awesome. If the implement some sort of perk system like Call of Duty, more ammo or faster mechs i'm going to shoot myself.
Now if they make a decent customization system, where you can sacrifice armour for speed, or something fair for flight manoeuvrability, and change weapons out within weight limits your mech can support. How would that make you feel? That would be amazing for a multiplayer mech game like this to have, it isn't a generic perk system where you get one flat out boost. It is a partially strategic system letting you decide how your mech handles.
Really looking forward to this, even though I'd prefer it be slower/more strategic. I.E. Chromehounds. It's a shame they cancelled the Chromehounds sequel then shut down the servers. :sigh:
also judging from the gameplay video you can blatantly tell it's played with a game controller and now mouse/keyboard, so it makes me wonder if it's being made for consoles too
I hope so
Wow it looks amazing, I love the bleak look
I hope so
According to the website they plan on a PC/360/PS3 release, with it being a fairly cheap game on the XBLA.
Fuck yeah
I love the movement of videogame environments. We go from the desert to cities, so gray becomes the new brown.
I love the movement of videogame environments. I'm surprised by the amount of bitches in this thread. This looks hella awesome, and it's being made by an indie developer, and it's only 9 months of work. Quit. Your. Bitching.

blue and orange is best combo
blue and orange is best combo
dontchu know it dude we're like color correction post-processing kings so we should know right yeah
I don't get the appeal of mech v. mech combat but this looks hella fun.
Armored Core for the PC? Where do I sign and/or put my wallet?
yeah dudes stop bitching about stylization and get over yourselves you wish you had talent like these devs do [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5khqA.gif[/img_thumb]
I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice this. The fact that the entire environment has some sort of green tint over it is horrible on the eyes. I really hope they remove it, because it's ugly.
what? i think it's pretty nice and original although it can def. be toned down
what? i think it's pretty nice and original although it can def. be toned down
I'd rather have a nice colorful city than a dreary green-tinted one. I mean, if I buy this game, I imagine I'll be playing these same maps over and over, and the constant green overlay would just get tiresome. It's like Fallout 3 where every area had some sort of color overlay to it.
Well then, this has made me pull out my rather dusty copy and controller of Steel Battalion. edit: Wait is that... the unreal engine?
Saw this on PC gamer a few weeks ago, came then and came again now. [editline]31st March 2011[/editline] Oh, and, officially the team is listed as having 9 people but 4 of those are interns who just joined recently iirc. The majority of this game was made by 5 people.
Slave Zero anyone?
Slave Zero anyone?
haha yes except slave zero had hands
By mech fps I was hoping something along the lines of Mechwarrior not "ZOOM ZOOM I BUZZ AROUND WITH A JETPACK IN A SEVERAL TON MECH" Oh great they are even those japanese mechs that have hands and arms even though they are completely unnecessary.
they do not have hands are you like blind or something their arms are weapons mounted the same way as mechs in mechwarrior/battletech, which all of the mechs have arms except for like catapult and firefly or whatever it was called and in mech warrior many of them could fly infact mechwarrior/battletech could be considered even more eastern than this since some of them had swords and hands gladiatorhttp://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gladiator_(BattleMech)? more like Gundam
This looks pretty nice, but I'd love to see something with combined arms combat where it isn't just mechs that are doing the fighting.
This looks pretty nice, but I'd love to see something with combined arms combat where it isn't just mechs that are doing the fighting.
When you have fucking giant robots, who in their right mind would pick anything else? The cool factor makes up for any tactical disadvantages.
It looks like any other FPS but you're a robot instead of 'x' to me, it has nice visuals and the concept is cool, but the gameplay looks like nothing special, they don't feel like mechs, but more like UT2004 with all the hopping around and missiles everywhere.
When you have fucking giant robots, who in their right mind would pick anything else? The cool factor makes up for any tactical disadvantages.
This is why mechs in BF2142 were always taken first
Wish they went more into detail on the controls. I have a Joystick and a race wheels, pedals and a custom shifter. And I want to use them all!! I really just want to use my gas pedal to control the jetpacks with full analog control. Be fucking sweet.
