The environment reminds me of a mix between the Animatrix & Ghost in the Shell
Which are both my little favourites.
Much win.
Saw the first shot, instantly knew it was Unreal. UE3 is exceptionally awesome.
And I want this game.

Sadly it has this jetpack stuff, I don't hate it or something, but I'd love to see a game where you have the small mechs be really agile, jump around, maybe even clinch to walls and do all that stuff, and the heavy things just be armored like crazy, plates all over them, and clunky and limited to ground movement.
Especially in this environment, being a bit more agile without jetpacks would be cool.
That looks horrible.
Well, KF is hardly designed for that kind of FoV, but he is right, 100 HFoV is for weaklings.
a console couldn't run a game with graphics like that
This is built on UE3, consoles can run UE3, you point is invalid. Don't talk shit when you don't know what you are talking about.

I hope the weight of a mech does effect the manoeuvrability in air. If you can customize the armour that is.

Uhh, just because they can run an engine it doesn't mean anything. It's not like every game will have the same requirements because they are on the same engine.

UE3 is very flexible isn't it? It wouldn't be hard to make a console compatible port comp red to most other engines, obviously almost everything graphically would be lowered, the quality would drop significantly. But saying it just isn't possible to do is stupid.
Not saying it needs to be ported mind you. It doesn't seem like a very controller friendly thing in some places.
Now they just have to give it an atmosphere that's just as intense as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s.
Also, I hope that the devs would have a close connection to its community, so they'd know what derps they should herp on. I mean, they ARE indie devs, right?

That sort of FOV calculation is more for projectors and triple-head. Creates a 1:1 window to the game world that makes games run more like a simulator with proper scale and distance. Not for everybody and certainly better on a bigger screen than mine.
EDIT:: Also the IGN interview to the developers about this game.. http://pc.ign.com/articles/115/1158817p1.html
They answer alot of the questions I see in the last pages. Twitter has a function!!

Consoles can run about any engine, that's not the point. What he means is that in order to get this to console, the graphics would have to be taken down significantly. You don't get this quality on a console.
Game looks awesome and very impressive for nine months of indie work, but I have to say that in my experience, games built around jetpacks like this appears to be based on the vid and the above interview always tend to end up as sort of twitch shooters, no matter whether its mechs or humans.
I would reach around my ass and give myself a blowjob if you could play it in something similar to this:

You stick your head in that you probably get aids.
Why do I get the feeling I'm one of the only people in this thread who actually likes Armored Core? :saddowns:
True, the controls are a little clunky, but it's really fun to play nevertheless and the customization still has yet to be matched by any game I've played.
I love the customization of that game, sadly I could never get used to the controls so I never got very far.
I once got to play Steel Battalion with this controller:

It was fucking complicated, but absolutely incredible. The best part is that every single one of those buttons has a function, and before you start a mission you have to go flicking on all the switches and pressing all the buttons. It's really immersive.
There's even an eject button.

This game doesn't look like a "sim" though. That looks badass. I kinda hope MW5 has that kind of depth to it.

I'm going to go one step better, and build and evangelion entry plug/cockpit for it
:smug:
Strongly reminds me on Naumachia: Space Warfare for some reason, probably the graphics.
I am very happy that an independent game company is going to release what appears to be a VERY nice looking mech game. I always enjoy independent game developers, as they always produce fresh and interesting games. They cannot simply ride their reputation, or previous games in the series reputation in order to sell.
Ever sale they earn and I, judging what I see of it, am sold.
Edit: The buildings remind me a little of Fallout 2.
lol if it was fallout 2 they'd be destroyed
No one mentioned Tribes 2? :v:
....I really wish Mechwarrior came out :sigh:
I never got to really play Mechwarrior but I fucking love it!
No one mentioned Tribes 2? :v:
What?
Probably relating to jetpack combat
The art style and everything looks great, but the mechs seem too floaty to... well, to be mechs.
If the concept and art style stays they have my support and moneys.
Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the floor.

Crysis 2 would like a word with you.
Fuckin' impressive.
Crysis 2 would like a word with you.
Which looks like shit on consoles and has a ton of pop-ins (heck it looks pretty bad on PC too compared to Crysis 1).
I just hope this game isn't solely PVP, I suck at PVP
It's likely it will have campaign, what is a mech game without one
