They tried to make us make a game in VB or GameMaker, but I didn't like that so I learnt the basics of LOVE and made a game with that, works fairly well, is ungodly hard though (everyone dies after the first 80 or so enemies)

I would approve but it's not feasible in 4 weeks.
The first thing we did in game design class was that we were given a 6 week deadline and told to make a flash-based adventure game out of scratch. With most people having no experience in working with teams or doing anything useful at all.
You can guess how that went but we learned a lot. Like how not to do things. And that was with 20 people and 6 weeks.

the real shit thing about visual basic 5.0 is you can't rotate sprites, you can rotate the picture boxes however they refuse to even co-operate with movement
A friend and I made a game for a competition at a local uni this year, we spent prolly 100 hours making a pretty basic topdown shmup with 2D (handdrawn pixel art by moi) graphics, it was our pride and joy, there were 8 contestants and 4 prizes. We thought we were guaranteed a place (minimum 500 dollar prize!) and we didn't even make 4th.
(We used the uni's 2D graphics API and C# to make it btw, not VB or some shit)
We still havent gotten to even see screenshots of the other games. :saddowns:
make cod modern warfare 3
Make a remake of E.T. for the Atari.
MAKE IT EVEN WORSE.
