so in other words you have no idea what you're talking about
I don't know what the PS3 Linux can currently do. The only things I know about this hack is that it's still doesn't have absolutely full control over read/write because the PS3 is split into levels, each controlling certain aspects of the PS3. I can see it might be moving towards a more customizable XMB (http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-hacks/geohot-ps3-custom-themes-hack-demonstration-arrives-110231.html). They're still learning what this Hypervisor/Supervisor is (http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-hacks/hp-ux-spp-ux-hypervisor-supervisor-ps3-110141.html), so no real damage can be done yet. No one is trying to play pirated PS3 games because it's impractical at this current stage to buy a Blu-Ray drive and upload/download 15+ GB of data. I can see this hack lead to better management of your PS3 (http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-hacks/ps3-proxi-v1-0-now-available-108671.html).
it's not a hack at all, you pop in a compatible version of linux, and hit "Install Other OS" and you're vastly limited.
