eGO is the shittiest fucking group of players ever. All of them suck at the games they play and they're all terrible to play with. [editline]07:02PM[/editline] automerger afadsfafswefr
"I paid for the bus ticket, now everyone on the bus should conform to my rules and not the bus company's!"
A bus would be an e rated situation, at better situation would be. "I joined a local club of murderers who likes to kill, shoot, stab, and slaughter people for fun! When I joined this club with my one time admittance fee I was told the club is a very scary and adult place which is not recommended for children. But gosh darn it I better not swear because some parents bring their children into this club" That's an M rated situation for ya.
Forbidding profanity makes no sense, especially in M rated games. It's like saying violence and war are A-OK but if you dare have a potty mouth then HOW DARE YOU MISTER!
you have a massive point, Though one time I was playing on a Christian server (long story) and well... no swearing of course and well I can't help it, but what was concerning me... Isn't it against their bible? I mean, What? they shouldn't be playing CS:S.
I was randomly clicking on TF2 servers and found one called "Soliders of Christ". One of the guys there was named Charles Darwin. I lol'd. [editline]09:44PM[/editline] There's a clan/group much worse then eGo. HK. The worst group EVER. They also don't allow swearing but that's not all. They run the newb servers (Literally called TF2 Newbs, it's funny because after playing with only newbs for so long the admins are terrible). I played there a couple times and got bored so me and my friend start uberchaining and they said that was against the rules :/ I even checked the rules and it didn't say anything even close to that. So we decided to go heavy with fists only and I got permabanned from their servers for "disrupting gameplay". They also kick for "setup killing and wounding", IE: Sticky jumping over the train in the beggining of well and hitting someone once gets you kicked/banned.

If you think about, the violence is of course fake, but the voicechat isn't. It's like real life, and if you are cursing regularly and they hear it, then of course they are going to repeat it. Look at my hillbilly redneck piece of shit neighbors, who curse all the time around their children, and now their 7 year old kids curse more than i do. Fuck, i was playing doom at age 7, you would think i would be a sociopath by now but nope, i am not. But if i grew up around cursing at age 7 then i would be an ignorant little bastard who can't talk without dropping the f-bomb every three words. Hopefully i made the comparison clear enough.
please fucking please
please fucking please
No profanity!!!!! *ban*
No profanity!!!!! *ban*
Violence + war is fake. Direct player voice is not.
Violence + war is fake. Direct player voice is not.
Most children can not see the difference between fantasy violence and real life violence. What the fuck is cussing gonna do? Nothing.
Bottom line, All ESRB Online games have no ratings for online interactions, so therefore no one should complain. It's M rated, violence is everywhere, so whats the point of making it kid friendly? None
Most children can not see the difference between fantasy violence and real life violence. What the fuck is cussing gonna do? Nothing.
I think they can tell the difference between fantasy and real life. If a kid had access to a gun, he wouldn't go around killing people. I was playing doom at age 7, and I wasn't anymore violent the all the rest of the kids, and I had access to guns, but I didn't go on a killing spree. It's called good parenting and being taught firearm safety. Cursing on the other hand, you hear it, you repeat it. That's how it is. You cannot say it's false.
I agree entirely, but it's their server - their rules.

Don't follow their rules get the fuck out. Why am I regurgitating the same arguments and no one seems to get it?

There are children who suddenly find access to a gun and end up trying to mimic what they saw in some violent video game and end up hurting or killing themselves. Teaching a kid, "firearm safety," is something you should do face to face with your child but the sad truth is not all parents are good parents and instead they try to shelter their children from it. What does this do? It makes the kid anxious to try the new 'toy' he found. So you repeat it, big whoop. They are words, the mean NOTHING. They have no power unless you give them power. But if you are that butthurt over some stupid words then do as a good parent should; tell the kid it's not something you should say. And if he gives you shit and continues you spank his ass.

Even very young kids can tell the difference between video games and real life. Another example, my cousin, plays violent games too, he didn't go on a killing spree. He even is very shy and isn't social. There are two signs for sociopath and a so called cataylst (Videogames) and he hasn't killed anyone. Also, you took my story of firearm story out of context. I wasn't taught firearm safety in game, I was it in real life. I never said it should be taught in game. Matter of fact, that would break my whole argument of "videogames are fantasy" When I say I keep saying the same thing, i'm saying i keep saying the same argument over and over, and no one reasons the posts and responds to my argument at all. You don't see anyone refuting what I said, yet you hear them posting the same shit over and over. Finally, cursing isn't just something that's frowned open by society and that's why some servers choose to have it not allowed. It also destroys your vocabulary (if used excessively) and makes you sound like a backwoods hick (As Dr.Mortician would call me)

We knew the swears and didn't say them because we knew there were bad. Swearing in my opinion isn't as bad as virtually chopping some guys head off, or killing a hooker after fucking her. It doesn't corrupt children as much, but children shouldn't be playing violent games or swearing anyway, so keep them away.

You would be more likely to curse around your friends, because people do it on the computer, and they are cool.

Because as far as I know, no one has died because of the shock of hearing fuck out loud.
Finally, cursing isn't just something that's frowned open by society and that's why some servers choose to have it not allowed. Don't like it, get a headset and make the sound come out your headphones only. And as I said, if the kid repeats it, you hit him. SIMPLE.
Now imagine you play video games a lot, and listen to voice chat all the time. You would be more likely to curse around your friends, because people do it on the computer, and they are cool.
Ya but your also more likely to be violent, as a small child at least. If you see people getting their head blown off, etc. Sure not killing spree violent 99.99999999999% of the time, but more violent, for sure. My dad played Duke Nukem 3D with me sometimes, I understood it was fantasy, and Duke swears a lot! I told my mom once "blow it out your ass" (keep in mind I was a little kid), she freaked out and I was punished, that's how I learned swearing is bad. But never did my parents take the game away, I understood, like you said, that its fantasy. Then I went back to playing Mario Kart, because I understood then those were adult games for a reason.
I'll get back to you tommorow, I had it all typed out then pressed up kind of combination that closed my opera. Good night.

I agree but guess what asshole they're the ones paying for the server you're playing on, so you play by their rules If you don't like it, find another one or make your own where anything you say goes
Okay so many people here are saying that its good to have censors and shit on an m rated game. Okay: It's m rated which means it's suggested you be 17 and older to play Kids will play it, you can not get away from that They are playing a game that is suggested to be played only by 17 year olds and up Probably everyone in the world has cursed at least once A kid will og on and play a game and hear curses. OH NO! this video game has exposed poor billy to vulgar language, you're not playing that game again! now go outside and play with your friends! Billy will walk outside to only hear more of the same, he will go to the local shop to buy a soda or food and will hear curses, he will walk to school and probably hear a passerby say shit. You are going to hear curses no matter where you go, unless everyone you know and around you is an extreme Mormon and refuses to curse or let out anything that remotely sounds bad.
Well it needs to be brought up again... not really but whatever, I didn't see those other threads and I just got out of one of those severs and I was in rage mode, sorry. [editline]11:15PM[/editline] No you don't need to but If I want to, I will.
Ya? Well I doubt your even 18 years old.. So you shouldn't be playing the game either.
Remember guys, "CONTENT NOT RATED BY THE ESRB" We can't really do anything about it, so adapt or move on. If they DID rate the online interactions, then no cursing would get them banned.
You do not pay for the server. They do, if they don't wanna hear some snot nosed 13 year old brats curse, then that is there decision. Either respect it, or leave. No one is forcing you to play there.
You do not pay for the server. They do, if they don't wanna hear some snot nosed 13 year old brats curse, then that is there decision. Either respect it, or leave. No one is forcing you to play there.
I don't care. It's idiotic that I play a game that's rated M for violence, blood, and other mature content and I am forced to keep my mouth shut over some people who cry whenever you say a swear word. It's ridiculous. I'm not gonna follow it and I'm not gonna leave until they kick me.
I don't get it, who decides which words are bad and which are good? The whole concept of "swear words" is ridiculous. And I like 3-pg's rule of "Swearing is OK, brain rot is not." You can swear, but if you keep screaming "nigger" to your mic for a minute straight you know you'll get banned. (because that's just dumb)
I didn't say a killing spree you idiot. And not every kid is like you and your cousin. Just because you two were smart doesn't mean every child in the entire world can distinguish the two.
I never said that every kid is like me and my cousin. I just provided two examples where your whole theory that kids can't determine fantasy and reality goes down the shitter. You haven't provided anything that proves your theory so I can't say it holds any ground at all. What else is there, besides a killing spree? If they can't determine fantasy and reality to be two seperate entities, and you say that killing in video games is fun, then by your logic killing in real life would be fun. And kids don't do that. I know there are plenty of kids who have access to guns, and play violent video games, but don't go on a killing spree. Because they know the difference.
Because you haven't given me one good reason why cussing is bad. Because as far as I know, no one has died because of the shock of hearing fuck out loud.
I actually just did in my previous post..
Finally, cursing isn't just something that's frowned apon by society and that's why some servers choose to have it not allowed. SIMPLE.
Well, one reason is that you might care for others and respect what they are paying for and what they want. But if that isn't enough, you'll get banned from their servers because you won't follow their rules. Some parents don't like hitting their kids, and I don't blame them. Each parent has their own parenting system, and if you think yours is best you are both ignorant and arrogant, especially because by the sound of it you aren't a parent.
^ You're an idiot, shut up. Case closed. [editline]12:20PM[/editline] I don't feel like arguing with your idiocy again.
