I use zygor guides, one of the best guides out there, maybe even the best! Zygors is okay until it starts telling you to turn in quests it never told you to take. I much prefer just using carbonite and grabbing all the quests I can find, then running and doing them eventually ending back up at town to turn in and get a buttload of XP in one shot.
I followed a guide from around 50 all the way to 70. Whenever I got bored following it I would just do instances and get up a few levels.
I haven't played WOTLK, but I'm considering starting again.
Leveling from 70-80 was pretty easy for me, I just quested in each zone until I was minimum level for the next zone, then as soon as I hit 77 I bought CWF and took me a day and a half max (not sure exact) to get to 80.
The only bad parts of the grind are 10-20, and 50-58. The rest of the game is fun and easy.
I switched areas every 1-2 levels when i was 20+ even if it took more time to level.
I find doing every possible quest in an area (within reason) before moving on is the best way for me.
I agree with most people when they say 10-20 and 50-58 were a pain.. Well actually, it's more like 54ish-58 for me. God I hated those levels.. I don't know why, but I just did...
The rest of the game is very enjoyable though. Try not to make it seem like to big of a deal if you're leveling slow, and keep your mind off of it.. Just grab quests, music, do them and hand em in. Rinse and repeat.
I hated Stranglethorn Vale so bad.
79-80 for me, God even though it seeemed like it was soo close, it really was like 400k xp away.
400000 is nothing really
thats like 4 quests
70-80 is going surprisingly quickly for me. I mean it sucks because it takes multiple days sometimes to get one level, but they keep throwing me quests so it doesn't seem too bad. Only 5 to go...
The grind in this game is actually much better than other MMO's (Runescape :downs:) so I didn't notice it.
I've been playing yesterday/today to see if I like the game, and I'm currently at level 8, orc warrior (I rolled a undead warlock but that class just doens't have the DPS to cut it for me). It seems like the whole game is grinding, at least at the low levels, and it's not fun. where's the epic arc storyline to get immersed in and level up? I'm doing a bunch of petty bullshit and it's not fun.

Make a human pally and follow the Defias questline, it's pretty cool. It starts from level 1 and lasts pretty much through level 20 ending with the Deadmines dungeon. Fun stuff.

You're a kid to them. Why would they give you important stuff to do? Persevere, it gets better.

that is a fun questline
I shoulda been Alliance. :frown:
lolno
70-80 actually really wasn't as bad as I thought. Took me 6 days and a half to get from 68 to 80 and once you hit 77 its even easier because of flying mount. :/
Knowledgeable friend / Holy priest + Prot warr with a death wish = some fast levelling.
Hmm.. I don't know why you guys hate leveling.. My alts don't last long at maximum level before I start leveling a new. I have a lvl 80 rogue in ulduar gear, 7k dps which I play alot on. I have a 71 shaman, 80 pala, 80 druid, 70 rogue, 70 hunter, 71 death knight and 53 warrior. I love leveling and I never get tired of it >.<
1-30 sucks imo because youre still a weak piece of shit
then it picks up because of mounts, 21 pt talents, and usually a major skill is introduced.
79-80 was hell.
My first character i done 70-80 over a week and it wasnt that bad as there was a race to get raiding going on (WotLK release week) but on my DK 79-80 was hell, id dried up Icecrown and Storm Peaks for quests so decided to just grind mobs, constantly being tourmented by the big 80.
79-80 was hell.
wat.
that is the easiest ever.. =/
I've been leveling a pally, and.. I have around 2 days playing time.. he is 47, near 48.. have to turn in one quest.
Shoulders/Weapon from badges help a lot, if you don't have those, I recommend you download a leveling guide, they're usually easy and quick to get by. Though you usually have to grind a lot, kill a lot of mobs, etc.
I found 1-10 to be the worst. After that I quit.

Levelling guides SUCK, they completely take the fun out of the game.

They're useful for people who don't find levelling fun at all, (me)
I just dont like leveling a main, then after that it gets slightly easier with alts because your main can just give them gear and stuff.
