I went through X16 my first time with only 56 pistol ammo.
Not assault rifle ammo
And no medpacks or bandages
i am finding it very hard to run out of ammo
i beat clear sky with 2,000 bullets or more for each gun
and bullets are heavy
Do not worry, a bloodsucker will rip out your hateful heart very soon.
On a serious note, excellent story.
I do highly recommend attempting Call of Pripyat, I will continue playing it as soon as my new videocard will return from RMA.

They most definitely are, at the moment my protagonist has a ridiculous amount of shotgun shells.
He also has a ridiculous amount of food, which i partially got rid of. I was standing above a bandit corpse and managed to completely cover it with bread batons, or bread pieces if you will (I am not certain how commonly the word "baton" is used to define a piece of bread.)
Well that's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to put it simply. It's incredibly hard and some mods make it even harder haha.

Oblivion Lost was a nightmare, a very awesome nightmare.
That's why you always carry a shotgun for versatility. Shot is easy to find, and you'll be glad you have one when you don't have to waste precious 9x39 ammo on snorks/dog packs/bloodsuckers or anything else in close quarters.
you are all bad reading
I hate STALKER so much but it's so damn amazing in so many ways
on a regular basis I want to thrust a beer bottle through my laptop screen but I RESIST and am rewarded with intense moments in stalker
i despise it
i love it
I have yet to get past the second mission because either the guy in the shack bugs out so I can't progress or I die and somehow neither autosave, quicksave or regular save worked so I have to start from the beginning again.
Too buggy, did not play.
Well I really hate it when a door won't open even though you put in the correct code, and it still won't open even though it says it opened D:<
Also when you run out of ammo whilst being surrounded by banditoes
Sometimes Stalker is too hard. Me and a group of 5 people died to a Pseudogiant
Glad to know some people share my lovehate, but on a (kinda) similar note: Have you ever used 75 vodka bottles at the same time? I found some crates in the Dark Valley and drank 'em all to see what would happen. My camera was rolling so much I saw my own gun from the front view.
I had to wait 10 minutes before I could walk again. I made a sandwich.

Would be the best ballet ever.
Dum, dum, dum, duh dum, BANG BANG, STAB STAB, dum, dum, dum, duh dum, OUT OF, HERE STALKER. . . .
I just go through with an automatic with a sniper attachment and a secondary spaz14 to handle the bloodsuckers. I went in there with like 5 med kits and came out with 9.
Head shots make the game a hell of a lot easier.
...Actually, the bloodsuckers in the Brain Scorcher are not the biggest problem, the problem is that a 30-man Monolith team consisted of exosuited soldiers using G36's comes in there to rip you a new asshole.

Yeah, that's where I am now. It's just that bloodsuckers scare the hell out of me.

I suggest you to be more aware of the areas in the lab. On the first try most of the people rambo their way in right into the bloodsucker's jaw. What I did was slowly checking the rooms and I caught every bloodsucker unaware of me being there.
And of course then the Monolith comes and they rape you and then you have to go back to the surface and run back to the bar and go buy new suit and then the suit cripples too much at the end of Red Forest and you go back again and then you go to CNPP and at that point your suit will have 0% protection and you'll rage because you have no spare suit and you could build a fort out of all the 5.45 bullets you collected on the way...

O_O'
The OP summed up what I think of stalker pretty much. You don't really think you like it but you keep playing it. It's mesmerising! Call of Pripyat is awesome.
