I play Lotro, if you want PVP, Don't bother, I'll be VERY frank with you, LOTRO's PVP sucks a donkey's asshole.

If you make an evil character, you'll spend WEEKS (Or months if you have a real life) grinding the same shitty quests OVER AND OVER again to get a map so you can teleport to various locations on the PVMP map (Oh yea, the entire PVP for each server is confined to ONE map space). And to be efficient, you have to spend countless hours grinding for maps to each of the different castles. After that, there is the rank system for evil characters. Meaning, you start out weak as a baby, and you have to spend even an INSANE (Read as months to years if you have a real life) amount of time fighting "freeps" (Real players on their good character) to become "pro". So, this means to get ANY infamy (What you need to rank), you have to join "raids" for support, and I forgot to mention this, but on both sides, almost EVERYONE is a COMPLETE PUSSY who won't leave the safety of their fortifications. So you'll spend HOURS just WAITING for some decent action. Also, if you happen to prefer melee classes, you are fucked, Turbine has turned their PVMP into a massive range fest where the only people who get kills are the hunter faggots and rune keeper pussies. Soloing is not existent, because the second someone sees you they either run off, or kite you around till their gank squad shows up. There is no skill, it fucking sucks. So if you want decent PVP, don't waste your cash on lotro.
Pros -
BEAUTIFUL graphics,
Great PVE gameplay,
Friendly community,
Being LoTR, you get to see many of the places from the books, this is a huge + if you're a fan.
Fun classes
Did alot of things WoW did bad pretty good.
Cons -
Shittiest PVP to grace the earth,
WoW is great for instant gratification. I can log on for an hour, maybe two and leave with some kind of improvement to one of my characters. It very easily and quickly gives you a sense of achievement.
EVE online, is the other end of the spectrum. Everything takes time, but is ultimately more interesting. You've got to have the time to spare to play EVE, but it is extremely gratifying if you do. The PvP is like no other. Just, watch out for the learning curve. Never fly what you can't afford to completely replace.
Haven't played the other two, so I have no opinions about them.
Also, trolls vs. trolls vs. trolls.
I wasnt really impressed by any of them... WAR is too PVP based, WOW is too cartoony and makes my eyes bleed, and LotRO became close to impossible around level 30 without a group. I have to say the best MMO ever made is Dark Age of Camelot, Mythic/EA's game that they trashed after over 8 years of success to make WAR. its too bad DAOC has dwindled to a few thousand people or i would still play it. If you play WoW i would suggest a private server tho, dont waste $15 a month on a video game.
Yeah, spending 15 dollars a month on something with possibly limitless entertainment is dumb.
That's like one trip to the movies... alone.

Only a few times in my 4 years of playing WoW have I experience instant gratification. You have to first level to 60 (80 now). Then you have to run instances for blues, weak epics and overall just better gear. Then it's off to raid with a guild you just joined, you see an item that drops that you want, but since you just joined you are going to get passed up by someone higher up the roster. The only instant gratification I got from the game was when I finally got promoted to Class Lead of my guild and started getting more first picks on items.

Then you're doing it wrong. Leveling up and getting new skills is instant advancement, gratification. Running an instance and getting a new item, or maybe just an achievement. Once you join a raid guild, you meet plenty of interesting and exciting people and repeat the last step, but slightly more challenging. Also, your guild is doing it wrong in terms of looting rights. You should have /gquit and found one which doesn't use fossilized rosters. I almost expected you to say they still used DKP.
Yeah. If you were making a game would you rather have more players with alright graphics, or really good graphics with less players because not everyone has a great computer. You tell me.
Actually almost any kind of gaming pc can run EVE
I've played WoW on private servers for a long time and tried Warhammer's trial, and I have to say that WoW is better in every aspect besides PvP. Never tried Lotro.
Still, if i wanted to actually pay for a mmo, it would be Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, because it has better graphics, blood and gore, lots of voice acting, and a nice singe-player plot.

Im not saying dont play the game... im saying dont pay for it, go to a private server like wowscape (now scape gaming) and save your 15$. its not like you get any more gratification when you play a game you pay for than when its free. save it up and in a year you can go and buy something nice... like a puppy
-big rant about the PvP-
Admittedly I've only spent a couple of days playing it, but so far I've found the PvP elements of LoTRo to be pretty good. There can be some lengthy waits for the larger conflicts, you do start off reasonably weak and the Burglar class is just plain fucking annoying, however I still find it a rewarding and fun experience.

And what is LOTRO and WoW filled with?
And what is LOTRO and WoW filled with?
Elves.
And what is the difference between boob hungry nerds and elves?
And what is the difference between boob hungry nerds and elves?
I.... I don't know...
One have pointy ears?
Age of Conan is filled with boob hungry nerds and kids because it have female nudity in it.
Simple as this.
LOTR is bland in terms of graphics, theres nothing eye catching about any of the high lvl items, that and it gets boring quick.
WoW is colourful but a bit dated, the learning curve is perfect for beginners, can be addictive.
I really couldnt be arsed with EVE because it's so confusing when you're starting up.
I enjoy popping onto War occasionally and finding a roving band of people who decide to just go and fuck up the Order's realm control.
We cap the objectives, they notice and some players trickle out, we kill them and laugh, they call in reinforcements, and before you know it most of the tier on both sides is wailing on each other in huge groups.
I'm still only Tier 3 on a server where most of the action is in Tier 4 but damn, even on lower levels in's great.
Get Aion when it comes out in September.
Pre-order and get in beta.
/thread.
also some eye candy.

Aion looks like WoW for weaboos. (bigger weaboos, rather)

I think it's a blast.
Went with WAR because the pvp is simply awesome, whole system open rvr, capturing castles...
also has pve instances...
Stop saying eve is a the best game ever.
it has stupid learning curve which doesn't make it "best" all the other mmo's are simpler and therefore they are greater.

I'd rather play advanced game with fucked up learning curve than some noobyfied shit with normal learning curve
I'd rather play a game that gives me goals or at least some direction, rather than one where I have to motivate my self to do everything.

I'd rather shut the fuck up than post shitposts
ITT EVE fanboys troll
I would say LOTRO, it may be a little boring at the beginning but later its in higher lvls i would say it beats WAR and WoW.
It also got a great history too.
Okay I never expected to get so many replies. Over the past week Ive played 3 ten day free trials, WoW, WAR, and EVE (Couldnt find 1 for LotR) and Ive made my decission. Im deciding to go with......
RUNESCAPE!
No Im just kidding Im gonna go with WoW because its focused both on pvp and pve. Although neither is perfect its not only focused on 1 like in the case of WAR or LotRo. Although the ancient colorful graphics, manga weapons, and gay horde characters may give me a fucking headacheI had an amazing time questing with my friends and I even got to raid a small horde village. The reason that I didnt choose WAR was because the classes were kindof wierd and although I play 40k I dont really know much warhammer lore. Also it seemed that all I did was pvp, even at my low level. The reason that I didnt choose EVE was not because of the learning curve (its not that confusing) but because I didnt really find the gameplay enjoyable. I dont have any friends who play it and its kindof fustrating.
So anyway thnx for all your comments and sorry if I disapointed anyone. You guys can keep arguing about which mmo is the best but Ive already made my decision
Gay Horde characters?
¿Blood Elves?
