It would have been better if ATI had won it. Nvidia likes to make things that are too expensive.
Nintendo does not make expensive consoles. They keep hardware and technology slightly outdated because it allows them to price hardware at a low cost and still allows them to make a profit.
For example, when the Game Boy was released rechargeable batteries were available but AA batteries were much cheaper. If your batteries died when you were on a trip, you could just pop in another pair of batteries and you were good to go. If you had a handheld with a rechargeable battery, you would need an outlet or another charged battery (which was expensive).
I'll probably go for the PSP2 personally, the DS was a major disappointment to me.
itt: Nvidia fanboys

Blow into the mic to play the Orcarina!
itt: Nvidia fanboys
I only see 1 or two posts that could be Nvidia fanboys, and 1 or 2 that could be ATI fanboys.
I have a vague feeling you are pissed that ATI didn't get the contract...
Tegras cool, at least it can play 1080 videos.
But ill think ill pass this gen of handhelds.

I suggest you give it a border.
On subject, I don't know what you guys are arguing about. It's just going to be a graphics card for a HANDHELD system.
3DS is definitely gonna be the ultimate PSP killer. Can't wait.
PSP is already dead.
PSP is already dead.
Nope.
I use it all the time to play emulated old games. PS1 games work on it too.
It's far from dead, a lot of people still modding it. (I can't really find myself using a non modded psp though.)
[editline]01:35AM[/editline]
Actually, now that I think about it I haven't seen any PSP games in stores, but I haven't looked for them either.
PSP's are dead in the sense that they don't get used in the way Sony intended.
Linux is right, aside from modding and emulating. PSP is more dead than roadkill, just not as flat.

Although it will be soon with the new PSP Go! Slim!
Also, does this mean the next DS will use wood screws? :aaaaa:
Honestly, I think quite badly for the PSP Go. It just seems so unnecessary.
cant wait for the 3DS
That's because it is unnecessary. Just like the DSi and, most likely, the 3DS.
nVidia are higher quality.
If this turns out to look ok I might get it.
Just realised how stupid this post was.
That's because it is unnecessary. Just like the DSi and, most likely, the 3DS.
I'm going to assume that you misunderstood my post.
I think that DOWNLOADING the games is unnecessary, I found nothing unnecessary with the 3DS (DSi was unnecessary though).
Ah, in that case.. Yeah, it's still unnecessary.
3DS is a stupid gimmick in my opinion.
Well it'll be like the PSP but with touch abilities :psyduck: How would that work?
Oh man, this makes me even more excited for the 3DS. I can't wait.
I haven't followed this PSPGo stuff at all, but a couple generations down the line would be a great time for a completely download only handheld. The whole point of a handheld is gaming-on-the-go, and not having to lug a bunch of games around seems like a natural evolution.
3DS is definitely gonna be the ultimate PSP killer. Can't wait.
Not if the games still suck, which knowing Nintendo, they will.
And as long as Monster Hunter stays on the PSP, it wins.
3DS is definitely gonna be the ultimate PSP killer. Can't wait.
But the DS is already a PSP killer.
The 3DS will just throw more dirt on the grave.

You'd have to be an actual retard to think the DS has bad games.

Or you'd have to be over the age of 12.

:downs:
I wonder what type of media it will use. If they don't switch to some type of disk I don't see how they can fit much on a cartridge.

You can fit plenty on flash storage.
Discs are impractical for handhelds. Even Sony will admit that UMDs were a failure.
