I tried to make a Facepunch game once, some of you might remember it - Destination: Facepunch. This actually looks more promising than that project ever did.

Make a shop called "Steam".
And if you really want a challenge you have to venture in the once great but now evil city full of trolls and idea guys, SPUF.
You could make certain things like smartness and Zing! into elements to set as weaknesses and to have like, a Zing! element sword. Never used VX myself but this was possible in RPG Maker 2003 and XP.
Another suggestion is that your character could start out neutral and do side quests to earn favor with different factions, like in Fallout and such. The final battle would ultimately be determined by who, if anyone you are allied with. Also, just because a group is your ally doesn't mean they couldn't turn around and try to stab you in the back.

No, Daijitsu must be the wize old man guiding the main character on his quest, but due to a logical fallacy, the evil king Gurant tricks the player into killing his former master. Weeping over his corpse, he swears revenge and proceeds on his epic quest through Punchia and the hellish Furforum. And on the slopes of mount doom they fought for the freedom of Middle-Eaugh fuck, wrong game.
The Mapping Section/City should be a large city where everything was built by it's citizens. There will be two sections of the city, the wealthy part and the poor part. The wealthy part will be greatly built with large, beautiful structures, to represent the better of the mappers. The poor section will be for those not so good at mapping, could be considered the ghetto of the mapping section.
I'm not sure what the Requests and Releases sub-sections should be. Maybe large administration buildings.

Lurkers could probably just be those citizens whom are of no importance, they have no dialogue options. Like in Fallout, those people who are, "*Town-Here* Resident".
Make every section/sub-section it's own area. Trolls are the enemies make some of the poular members of the forums supporting charcters. Take the entire forum and turn it into a massive drama.
