Just curious, if they were actually decent, had weekly/fortnightly bug fixes and patches, new content per month like say 2 maps, a weapon like that, and such things as community laddering system, stats and shit would you pay a subscription fee?
I personally would need to think about it.
No.
The story of Black Ops was fantastic.
In conclusion, you know what you set yourself in for, and if you spent the money on a game that you secretly deep down knew you didn't like the formula of, then tough. You shouldn't have bought the game in the first place. If you didn't like Modern Warfare 2, then why buy Black Ops? If you don't like what the game contains, and you still buy the game following a boycott, you make the developers and the publishers think they have done something right. Therefore they will continue to make games as they have. So, before you buy a game, think. Do you like the games that came before that one in the series? If not, then why buy it, for you know, deep down, that you'll be heavily disappointed by the game.
Fucking Amen.
Big COD fan btw, since 200.. 3 ?.
Also, in addition, publishers do not take a notice of the players requests when their morale is about as crumbly as a Hob-Nob biscuit.
I resent your representation in this thread, of hob nobs being crumbly, when that is far from the truth.

I eat that shit up sadly. I love getting more content, and since I now use PSN instead of XBL, I'd deal with a sub fee considering Multiplayer is free anyway.
MW2 is horribly unbalanced, but Black Ops is tons of fun and so is the storymode. Numbers is my favorite mission.
I remember a lot of people on FP liking MW2 after launch, saying that the singleplayer was short but fun and the multiplayer was addictive. Now people talk about it like it's the black plague.
Probably because it was fun until the shit community started exploiting all the annoying traits like the knife monkeys, the akimbo shotgun whatevers, the noob tubers, and so on and so forth and the $15 DLC was ridiculous too.
I can honestly say I enjoyed the game and played it addictively when it first came out and still had fun with it with friends but towards the time Black Ops was about to be released it kept getting worse and worse.
I don't like CoD games in general for 2 main reasons.
1) They are too easy.
2) They have the worst community I have ever laid my eyes upon.
However, I do love pubstomping on CoD4 on the occasion. Since most of the terrible community has left CoD4 for MW2 and now for Black Ops, its just too easy. Also a 60 dollar price tag on a game that hasn't changed in 4 years is nothing short of a rip off. I know everyone here would rage if Valve instead of doing all these class updates, announced TF3. Why is Black Ops any different?
I disagree OP, I hated MW2 with a passion but I loved Black Ops.
call of duty 2 was the last call of duty game
all the rest are garbage
its honest fact and you can't disagree with it
How was it extremely short? What would you consider a long yet linear FPS then?
It was about the same length as the first CoD, and shit was long. 5-7 hours of pure gameplay of singleplayer does not mean extremely short.
I go by that a full priced game should have at least 12 hours of singleplayer gameplay, otherwise it is short. Of course this doesn't apply to all games, such as puzzle games or games which are purely multiplayer.
FUCK! Milk costs as much as gas! (buys milk)

I hated MW2 and think Blops was a huge improvement. Not the greatest game ever, but definitely worthy of a play.
You must play the game before you start bashing it.
I loved MW2. Breaking the sound barrier with a care package was the best thing I ever did.

wow that's the stupidest thing ever uttered or shown in this forum
criticize a game for being linear then post a Doom map are you fucking mental?
ITT: People finally admit that the CODs are actually fun, instead of cowering in the corner hoping the giant bandwagon doesn't run them over.
Oops rated myself useful
If it was SO GODDAMN TERRIBLE UGH HOW CAN ANYONE PLAY THIS then why are thousands of people are enjoying it right now? how come they don't mind such things? you seem to be under the impression that fun in games should be completely and utterly 100% realistic and if it does not meet your expectations it's obviously a pile of garbage.
Keep that kind of negative attitude and you'll end up having no fun whatsoever with modern games.
PS: boycotting does fucking nothing.
So you're telling him to be forced to like a game he doesn't like? Do you honestly expect everyone to have the same opinion?
99% of the haters never played it.
Black Ops feels more like World at War or CoD4 to me than MW2.
Both Black Ops and MW2 are a break from playing more realistic games such as Arma 2 to me. My "relaxing" shooters are MW2 and Black Ops, my happy medium is the new MoH, and when it comes down to being a 1337 Marine in realistic open ground warfare, Arma 2 is great. It all depends on what you like more I guess.
The only reason I disliked MW2 was because everyone was talking about it nonstop for months at my school. The community is absolutely terrible, but the game itself isn't that bad.
Exactly. I hate how they keep talking about the best classes and killstreaks. That's what it seems like COD is all about now. Unlike in ARMA 2 :pcgaming:
All (true) stereotypes and failures aside about CoD since CoD4 (such as how it's just a bunch of casual gamers acting like real gamers, how the genres getting so much praise for doing shit that games like counter-strike did ten years ago and how it blatantly stole gungame (please correct me if I'm wrong - but I'm pretty sure they took gungame straight outta the gg dev's hands without giving him credit simply because the community suggested it), how the overall community is durp, how a shitload of its players think it's a crazy realistic game and all that crap), when it really comes down to the pure game...
Black Ops is apparently good.
people like to bitch.
No one said forced, stop putting words in my mouth.
Simply giving him advice to either get with the times and adapt to the new gaming industry techniques and products or just sit and complain all day long, because really the only ones he is hurting with the 'boycotting' is himself.
Kevlar's comment was mostly based on reasons why he didn't like the game. Not necessarily on how he boycotts it. It's not really the fact that he hates it because it was unrealistic. He hates it because it's frustratingly unrealistic.
To be fair the advice in the OP is pretty stupid, especially saying MW2 and BLOPS had different developers..
I didn't like MW2. But with black ops I haven't had as much fun on a multiplayer game since Team Fortress 2.
MW2 and BLOPS had different developers..
I'm going to buy this game for the simple reason of being able to say blops.
