Proprietary 3D engine by TS Group Entertainment.
It won't use an Engine. Simple.
Well I personaly dont care much of an AI Director now, as it would be a mess with certain parts of the game, For Example, like what if your ingame and right when a level starts theres a bunch of Antlion Guards spawn around you. Also a bunch of combine would probaly spawn in tables and stuff knowing the sense of the AI Director. They cant use the Left 4 Dead engine (Okay know it alls, it is a source engine, but it dosent use hl2.exe, it uses L4D.exe and dosent use the Half life 2 menus or anything.) because first of all, ingame L4D you only get 2 guns. Thats like saying the only weapons you will get is a Crowbar and a gravity gun. Also, the L4D engine triggers hordes at random times, so that will be like you randomly see 400 combine running at you. Okay, I know they can modify the L4D engine to meet the Half-Life 2 standards, but do you really think they will go through ALL that modifying of an engine to make HL2:EP3 when they allready have the most updated Half-Life 2 engine and they can just make a FEW modifications to that. Also one more thing, the L4D engine dosent use "npcs", it uses "z_zpawns?" not "npc_create", so they wouldnt have any of the HL2 npcs and would have to make lots of adjustments to get them in.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

It uses masses of triggers and ai_ nodes to control where NPCs move and what they're doing prior to you spoiling their party. Secondly, just because L4D uses an .exe with a different name and has less weapons doesn't mean it isn't viable. They have merely removed the weapon code from the Orange Box engine and replaced it with the L4D weapons - none of it is hard-coded, per se. Yes, they probably would modify it. Lastly, all they need to do is slam all the code in from EP2 to get all the weapons and NPCs back. If I were you, I would read up on what you're talking about before you hit reply :v:
The Source engine. There are currently 3 or so tiers of Source used by the various Valve games; the original Valve-adapted Source build used by HL2, the Episode 1 engine used by EP1 and HL2:DM, the Orange Box engine used by TF2 and EP2, and an adapted version of the OB build used for L4D. More than likely, there'll be another build for Episode 3 to handle any new creatures, NPCs or enhancements to make the game flow more, like an AI upgrade for the Advisors so they don't need scripts to function, or any new weapons that may be found along the way to the Borealis. Essay over.
HL2 was upgraded to the Ep1 engine.

If they put legs in, there might be a Gordon model. And don't you wish that all the current Source games would get updated to at least the EP2 engine?
They actually said they would add the achievements to the PC versions of HL2 and episode 1 eventually, which would coincide with upgrading to orange box. They said that a loooooong time ago though. The EP3 version of source will probably feel faster and lighter, like L4D, but without some of the visual effects that were specific to L4D. L4D felt quite a bit different than traditional source games; I'm curious to see how much of that was the engine and how much was the content they put on top of it.
If they put legs in, there might be a Gordon model.
We won't get nothing better than a headless walking HEV suit. Probably the same model than was in Kleiner's lab, only animated
Steam Engine?
Woah. That just blew my mind.
i think valve announced that they were going to use the source engne but it was going to be the outer limits of what the engine could do. i can't remember where i heard this but I clearly rember being told somewhere that valve was going to have ep3 be the best, and last use of the source engine and that after that they were going to start development on a new engine. i'm 85% sure this is true
I think if Valve makes a new engine they should call it ReSource
Or, if their headquarters is moved to India, make it OutSource. :v:
Or, if their headquarters is moved to India, make it OutSource. :v:
oh snap!
I sure hope they get rid of their shitty lightmap system
The quake engine obviously.
If seriosly: I'd like to see in the new version of source: more dynamic water (I'm not asking for particle simulation, ), RT-cameras expansion(more than 1), proper mirrors(seriosly).
CryEngine 2 of course!
Modified L4D Source Engine.
cryengine 2 of course!
criengin three
DiamondSrc
ID tech 1 It will use a battery.
Hell no. It will use a hand pump dynamo. [editline]06:23PM[/editline] That way you get some extra exercise :v:
Source. HL3 will have SourceX
I wouldn't call it Source 3, I'd call it... Source Gamma! ...Get it? Gamma? Radiation? Lambda... Eh...
:rimshot:
:rimshot:
I actualy lol'ed from that... Do I fail or not?
