Underground: 2 Miners 1 Mason/Building Designer/Engraver 1 Woodcutter/Carpenter 1 Grower/Herbalist/Brewer 1 Fisherdwarf 1 Craftsdwarf/Mechanic Aboveground: 1 Miner 2 Masons All the rest the same.
I usually support my fort by fishing and cow breeding, fishing yields really good amount of food.
Underground: 2 Miners 1 Mason/Building Designer/Engraver 1 Woodcutter/Carpenter 1 Grower/Herbalist/Brewer 1 Fisherdwarf 1 Craftsdwarf/Mechanic
I usually take the same thing.
That new version sure is taking it's sweet time. I suppose i'd rather have a slowly made good update than a rushed crap one.
Underground: 2 Miners 1 Mason/Building Designer/Engraver 1 Woodcutter/Carpenter 1 Grower/Herbalist/Brewer 1 Fisherdwarf 1 Craftsdwarf/Mechanic
Blech, I hate having my Woodcutter also be my Carpenter. It's so inefficient =/
I want to be Jock
Already taken. You get to be the Stoner. Congratulations! The Jock (Miner/Weaponsmith/Armorsmith) - rapperkid04 The Drummer (Miner/Carpenter) - Jake_louston The Emo (Woodcutter/Axedwarf) - Antallion The Nerd (Building Designer/Mechanic) - Libertas The Stoner (Grower/Herbalist/Cook) - Str4t0s The Frat Boy (Grower/Brewer) - Soren Let's get this classroom going
To be honest, it'd be pretty disconcerting to go into a wrestling class and have the instructor roll into the room with a yellow lower spinal cord injury, but of course at that point in a fortresses life, the Dwarves in the classroom will have seen more horrifying things. Toady should totally add wheelchairs, so we can have spinal injury dwarves do drive bys.
I always have my wood cutters who are also mechanics because I hardy ever pump out mechanisms at a rate it would be inefficient. I have my minners be wood workers and stone masons.

Could we have a mod to change the title to something along the lines of "Fuck off, its not out yet", then change it when its actually released?
When the new version is out I may look into making my own tileset. Too bad we wouldn't be able to make the dwarves change with their description.
I'll bet it comes no earlier than June
Could we have a mod to change the title to something along the lines of "Fuck off, its not out yet", then change it when its actually released?
I don't know of a moderator who plays or even cares about DF. They only care if people offtopic a thread or flame each other etc.
I don't know of a moderator who plays or even cares about DF. They only care if people offtopic a thread or flame each other etc.
I recall Gurant trying it, but not sure if he even plays it anymore.
You do realize that Thorny can change the title right?
I can't, I've tried it before.
I reckon its getting close now. I'm sure it will be released this year
Of course it will be released this year, lol.
I reckon its getting close now. I'm sure it will be released this year
If it's not this month, it's next month.
If it's not this month, it's next month.
I'll copy that so that I can paste it in each month until it's released Now taking bets on how many threads we get through before the new version is released
I can't, I've tried it before.
That's weird, I've always been able to double-click next to the name and change it.
ninja'd
Miner/Engraver Miner/Engraver Woodcutter/Carpenter Armorsmith/Weaponsmith/Blacksmith Cook/Brewer/Grower Architecht/Mason Mechanic/Misc Noble skills Bolded skills are proficient. All dwarves are maxed out in skills because I find it a lot more useful to have skilled dwarves than few items more. Helps me get the fort up and running real quick. Mechanic usually doesn't have that much to do so he's the leader/record keeper/manager/trader too. Miner/Engraver combo is pretty nice since then I can first have them mine out space, then smoothen it. Building designing for the mason since it's such a hard skill to train and he's gonna be building stuff anyways. Woodcutter and carpenter are combined because I usually cut tons of logs before starting to produce beds or other wooden stuff. He only needs to be doing one of the jobs at a time.
I really hope for this to come out soon.
About the caste system: will it allow us to have multi-racial forts? Like Dwarves and Humans/Elves/<insert custom race here> living together? I know it's up there in the OP, but I just want to know if the scenario I have in mind will be possible.
That's weird, I've always been able to double-click next to the name and change it.
Only works for about 5 minutes after first making the thread, unfortunately.
Dwarven slave trade, dwarfs life happily while the elfs do all the work!
I started playng again, I found an old dead adventurer. Tuma Hellfire the God-Forsaken Terrors, he was a demon. 38 notable kills, 36 dwarves, 1 warewolf, 1 ettin. 13 other kills.
