It's not possible to say a specific date because he is trying to make this release to be one with as few bugs as possible. And he doesn't know exactly how many bugs are left and how hard they are to fix (harder take more time obviously), except for knowing that there are "lots".
Isn't that the goal of every version? Plus I'm sure he could just like... Release minor updates to fix bugs as people find them, if he wanted to. Not every new release has to be a massive update like this.

He has also stated that he will start releasing smaller updates and bugfix patches after this huge one is out of the way. I prefer to wait a few weeks for an almost bugfree release rather than play a buggy one now.

Orkel said it better ^

God damnit. I read the list of features for the new version, and now I really want it again.
The bug fixing for the new version should take quite some time
One of my dwarves has a weird deity. Most of them just tell what the deity is associated with, and what form they take, but on one of my dwarves' deities, it also tells all the various years that various dwarves began to worship that deity. What's up with that?

No, I'm looking at dwarves' relationship screens. You can hit v to view their deity, and it tells you what form they take and what they're commonly associated with. This one just has a hell of a lot more information. [img_thumb]http://i43.tinypic.com/qo94yb.png[/img_thumb] Also, why do the humans keep sending diplomats to my fort who walk in, tell the baron how pleasant the place looks, and then leave?
Because you are supposed to trap them. Mech-dwarfs are 40% done. I just need the new version to make them out of metal. and have mechanical body parts.
Man, I had a goblin siege in spring when the elven caravan was visiting, and now another one has shown up in the summer while my human friends are visiting. The merchants only just managed to all get to the trade depot behind my tons of traps before the goblins started advancing on them. [editline]05:57PM[/editline] Oh, the goblins sent a one-armed human maceman to siege my fort as well. He's missing his whole left arm. I don't know why they thought this guy should go into battle.
Goblin Logic.
Someone needs to make a copy of Grendel: immune to all weapons (including Adamantine) yet vulnerable to losing limbs from wrestling.
The old thread was close to closing? Huh. I think once the new version actually comes out the bay12games forum is going to explode.
I think they make fun of us over at bay12
I really have to get back into this. Especially now that the new version is out.

All the wiki links and stuff are down. :saddowns:

If OP doesn't mind. I'd rather like to be added to the list of DF players.
Any way of connecting a pressure pad to, say... a ballista? I have an idea if so. :iia:
Any way of connecting a pressure pad to, say... a ballista? I have an idea if so. :iia:
No.
Orkel could you please, repost highlights of the new version?
ASDHJGJGD It's in the OP! I spent hours putting it in there! [editline]12:21AM[/editline] I've added everyone who asked, to the OP players list. Please don't get pissy if you're not added immediately after asking, I'm not on 24/7 and sometimes I can miss people. I'm also not required to do it, so please don't annoy me or I may just not add you. Thanks.
Thanks for adding me twice! :buddy:
Thanks for adding me twice! :buddy:
You're a douche. I hope he removes both of them now
I'm still second on the player list. :smug: I was first but he moved me. :saddowns:
I'm at the bottom :saddowns: That's what I get for Only looking at threads for the past year n' a half and not signing up.
I'm still second on the player list. :smug: I was first but he moved me. :saddowns:
Heh, I noticed that too.
Sadly Thorny is banned for spoiling something in the war craft thread. :saddowns:
No.
That's unfortunate. I was gonna' booby-trap the entrance. Step on the plate and a ballista would fire from behind a fortification. Would have been awesome.
