So I'm thinking of starting up in a desert of pure black sand. There are no trees. Any thoughts? :v:
Can't you just skip the whole ramp thing and make it a blocky pyramid? I'll get a picture of my old pyramid/temple thing. It started out as a pyramid but halfway through I found out I should've done the measuring before building and decided to make some sort of (aztec/maya/whatever the fuck made those) temple.
Oh wow I remember when you posted that, it's been ages. This is my old trap-filled pyramid from 2007, back when there was no 3Dwarf or such, had to take it with the shitty ingame visualizer:
@ Dalndox madman.
-8,929203675
Impossible, you cannot divide and get a negitive number. Impossible.
Awesome 7 days to go. I'm going to jump right into adventure mode when it is out, what about you guys, what is the first thing you will do ?
So I'm thinking of starting up in a desert of pure black sand. There are no trees. Any thoughts? :v:
Fucking DO IT. DF is no fun when you have perfect settlements.
Ok, If I'm going to construct this thing accurately I'll need to make it's dimensions in the following formula equal 3.14159265. Circumference/2Height=3.14159265 I already have it down to the following: 21/2X=3.14159265 Now, my Math isn't exactly that keen, so what would X be in that equation?
How can you not know how to solve a simple equation like that? Sorry if I seem offensive but from what I've picked up from your posts, you seem like a smart fellow and solving something like that is pretty simple. Get the unknown (x) to the other side and everything else on the other side of the equation and voilà. Here's the solution is steps: 21 / 2x = π | *2x 21 = π * 2x | :π 21 / π = 2x | :2 21/ 2π = x ~ 3,3422538049298020511465590308228
Impossible, you cannot divide and get a negitive number. Impossible.
Woops.
I am going to start in a really freaking hot area where everything except my mech-dwarfs explodes in heat.
I am going to start in a really freaking hot area where everything except my mech-dwarfs explodes in heat.
Not mech tentacle demons?
I came back and saw 100 new post I was like :v: ,and I jizzed my self when I saw release date. As a tribute I'm gonna build a....something gimme ideas please.
A giant phallus.
A giant phallus.
and pump magma out of the top. [editline]09:54PM[/editline] penis volcano [editline]09:54PM[/editline] dwarfy
@ Dalndox madman.
I made sure there was a river. On the other hand, I don't know if I have any farmable land. Oops. :v:
A giant phallus.
Gonna do it.
Impossible, you cannot divide and get a negitive number. Impossible.
-20/4 = -5 Unless you meant in that equation you could not get a negative number.
Can I farm on Flint? :v: [editline]09:04PM[/editline] The ground is a combination of black sand and flint.

Whoever used the bleh looking visualizer for the blocky pyramid, use this instead: http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=39541.0 It looks awesome: [img_thumb]http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/6342/79shot1.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm not sure how many of you know about this, but as soon as I start understanding DF better I'm gonna use it.
Oh shit! I hit an underground pool! It's fucking huge! :byodood: [editline]10:08PM[/editline] It's full of skeletal Snakemen and Olmen!

Let's just say it involved mental exhaustion and plenty of... Distractions. [editline]11:10PM[/editline]
Oh shit! I hit an underground pool! It's 4 z-layers deep and BRIMMING with shit that wants to kill me. :saddowns: [editline]10:10PM[/editline] Broke my automerge. [editline]10:12PM[/editline] I just realized that the spot I broke in from has no water on its layer; it's an open space. Does that mean I'm safe or can these things crawl up walls? :ohdear: [editline]10:13PM[/editline] Cancel that. A skeletal Cave Crocodile is eating my cats.

I stationed a guard in front of the entrance. Before I realized it, he had racked up 17 kills. There's an island of bones floating in the water. :v: Do these things always have enemies in them or will it eventually clear out? This could be a great place to build a well (I'd like the think).

Unless they're the spawn of Armok, in which case they MAY re-animate. Also, don't let a drop of blood hit the water, Dwarves can't stand the taste of bloody water.

Hitting people while they are flying in the air from a recoiling hit is the rule, not the exception, and the only way they could be moving that fast is if they were flying. Flying Dwarves.
I bet their beards split open in to glorious wings, and they fly using pure, alcohol-fueled awesome. [editline]10:44PM[/editline] Olms keep crawling out of the underground lake and dying. :v:
Bastards. "HEY LOOK AT US WE CAN CRAWL OUT OF THE WATER!" "AWW SHIT WE CAN'T SURVIVE OUT OF WATER! FUCK!" This is what they get for being little assholes. Holy shit! I can farm on the black sand! [editline]11:05PM[/editline] I have no seeds for this location. :saddowns:
