I can't access anything other then friends list, friends chat and group list.
When I try view the store, profile pages or group pages it just loads a blank page, nothing on it.
I'm using Android, Xperia x8.
Are you using Android 2.1? Update to v1.0.1 of Steam Mobile. When accessing the store, the app should prompt a dialog to warn you that the page you are trying to view has an untrusted SSL certificate. Just allow the access.
Ah nice. It worked after I updated to 1.0.1 of the app.
Yep, no invite required anymore.
Weird. So why haven't they removed the key from my inventory?
I had access to the closed beta but I still got a key today.
Strange.
I've got the key in my inventory now. Pretty cool app, there is a sight delay between when my computer receives messages and my phone though.
"Recent chats" stay recent forever. Is there a way to close them?
Mine hasn't been permanents.
They've dropped off after a while, not sure how long time.
Anyone want a free beta key? I got in and it gave me an invite I can send to someone.
It's open now.

Open chat -> Clear -> Clear Chat History

Yeah they will still give out keys. But they is no real use for them.
Steam on smartphones?! Jeez! What's next? Team Fortress 2 and hats?

You know, just go download the app then enter your information. It'll automatically just give you a beta key. (Or at least, that's how it's worked for a few of my friends and I). Just says on your PC while you're logged in. "We've noted your interest in the beta blah blah here key". More or less.
But if that doesn't work, I have a guest key.

I think it has gone open beta. Not to sure but I've heard that around or they're letting a hell of a lot of people into the closed beta.
But none the less it is still in beta.
I haven't had a single problem with it yet. I know some people were mentioning a black screen on certain pages.
Meh, there are some flaws for the iOS. Such as not being able to run in the background/notifications unless in the app.
I don't know what you're talking about, I get notifications even when I'm browsing with Safari.
Me too. ^
If Settings is still unselectable... I somehow got into, can't remember how, and I'm SO STUPID FOR NOT TAKING A PICTURE GAH

I'm getting the same problem.
It is very inconsistent about updating too. It won't even display a newly received message if I received it while not in-app.

I've been able to get into settings for a while. I think they fixed it.
How long 'till steam starts selling Android games over Steam Mobile?
Fuck you, iPhone 3G. This is why we can't have nice things.
Actually, you can install in a iPhone 3G and 2Gen iPods. With the iPhone configuration utility, here (windows version), or here (osx version).
You need the Steam mobile app .ipa from the store though, don't know how to get it without iTunes, so, yeah. Also, if you're using iTunes, the .ipa will be here.
Windows: C:\Users\YOUR USER\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
Mac: /Users/YOUR USER/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications
Now that you have the file, open the iPhone Configuration Utility and add it to the applications list.
Now, that you added the app, connect your iPod or iPhone and click it in the left and go to the applications tab. You'll see all the apps installed, and steam will be there, then, just click install.
Wait a few seconds and bam, it's done.

Not working for me I get an error that says Could not Install application on this device Error: kAMDReceiveMessageError
Weird, are you running iOS 4.0?
Weird, are you running iOS 4.0?
yea, I'm currently runninh 4.2.1 on my Gen 2 ipod touch
Very weird indeed. My iPhone 3G is running 4.2.1 too, and, worked flawlessly. Maybe is something hardware related? I don't know. Maybe you should wait until valve releases the version compatible with the older iPod touches.

that's actually happening?
Yeah, some valve devs posted in a thread in SPUF. It should be out next week or something, I'm not sure.
Been using the app for, I want to say a week now and besides a bit of extra drain on my battery I love it.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
