Seriously that game wasn't even amusing. It was just hours of boring, bland shit.
Hl2 is pretty overrated to a certain extent. Really it wasn't that much of a great game other than the story-line, which jumps from like 20 different places.
Halo 1 and 2 are not overrated. They both pretty much dominated multiplayer markets. (When Halo 1 came out on PC.)

No, Borderlands wasn't awesome. It was shit.
Half-Life 2 was great, nice graphics for that time. Cool physics and a great atmospheric storyline with nice challenges and great characters.
I always thought Crysis was kind of overrated although the abilities of the suits were pretty cool. Still it was just a tech-demo to show of how fancy the graphics are.
Also Counter-Strike is totally overrated and is simply boring after a while. Furthermore all the mods and maps kill slowly the game.
GTA 4, it was a great game but it got so damn boring after a while, all the missions were pretty much the same save for a few.

The text graphics allows for more complexity. Do you really think that a game with the graphics of Crysis would allow for the damage calculations that Dwarf Fortress does? And the "Waaah carp kill my fort" is bullshit, considering that the whole point of the game is to have fun in watching your creations tumble hilariously down. Effectively, think of it like building a massive LEGO city, and then stomping around in it like Godzilla.
I truly disagree with people saying Starcraft, what's so bad about it?
Anyways I always thought World in Conflict was a little overrated.

I kinda agree about Company of Heroes, some people say it's the best/most realistic RTS of all times when really it's not that good, but what people really praise it for is the variety, graphics and that stuff. It's really an unbalanced piece of shit but yeah.
Left 4 Dead was very very repetive, the second one too. In my opinion.

Its player base has laste longer than any COD game.
Doesnt seem to be as much OTT hype with Halo: Reach.
