Also, L4D2. Made way too big of a deal about it, really wasn't all too great. Don't get me wrong, I love the new SI and gibbing system to bits, and the storyline expansion was much appreciated, but the whole thing just feels really bland in terms of gameplay/mood, and it really lacked the little bit of horror the first game had. Only zombie game I've seen so far that can pull off the whole "Zombies in broad daylight" theme was Dead Rising/2.

Did you play it? The "ohh its got 1 billion guns but nothing else" is a stupid bandwagon because 2k used that as its main selling argument, wich was pretty dumb. The game is shure not perfect bur its good, fun and one of the best coop games out there.

Mgs4, i'm sorry but the plot and cut-scenes had gotten so convoluted it hurt to play. You could see the plot slowly rolling into obscurities after the first play station game.

Half Life 2 actually has the greatest video game hero of all time, has okay graphics, great story, allright gameplay, it's a relatively long game, a fairly balanced mix of puzzles and action plus Gordon is such a stud with his goatee nobody could resist playing as him.
And while these are just opinions, the first one was a fact. Freeman got 55.4 percent of the votes if i remember correctly. Valve even put a sale on all their games for that.
Besides, everyone has loved that game since the first one. If it doesn't suit your tastes, fine. It's just that it's really original. I never would've come up with a story like that and have it make sense in a way. And one of it's attractions is the stuff that [b]isn't[/b] told. People love making theories about G-Man, how the Combine came to Earth and all sorts of Episode Three theories. It's just that the community is really interested, and curiosity is one of human mind's strongest traits. Valve know what they're doing. Modern Warfare 1 was not that bad at all, the ship mission gave me a feeling i was an actual SWAT until you went under the deck. You couldn't see shit in that rain yet everyone saw you, and under the deck everyone is obviously fully armed and waiting in ambush. Sure, this is so realistic. not to mention the weapon accuracies- Yeah, i can understand game balancing.
One thing about Half-Life 2 was that it was a wee bit too easy. Well, some mods fixed this, but still.

Half-Life 1/2 were great for their time. If you play them 4 years later, no wonder you don't find anything remarkable about it.

Half-Life one is still fun to play and I'm not even being nostalgic because the first time I played that game was 2008 or something.
Half-Life 2 is just fucking boring. I played that in 2006-ish I think, only two years after release, and once you get over the fact the physics are cool it's just insanely average. The AI of enemies was barely an improvement over the 1998 game.

But hey, they're already working on a 2nd one that'll be at least twice as long and it'll have co-op.

UT3 died; the 2k4 fans didn't like it because they weren't used to it, the whole playerbase moved back to 2k4. Shame really, I kinda liked rolling over people.
I found Dragon Age to be overrated, I mean there were battles every minute that just involved your party being thrown against 5 warriors and a mage you can't get to that keeps freezing you.

You realize that Half-Life 2 is 6 years old. Everything that Half-Life 2 has, the AI, the graphics, was pretty amazing at that time. Also Half-Life 2 earned over 40 Game of the Year awards.
So? Half-Life is 12 years old and it's still more fun to play than HL2.
Ergo, HL2 is highly flawed.
And you can't entirely judge HL2 based on 2004's standards because Ep2 is barely an improvement on that game and it's only 3 years old.
Tbh I think Half-Life 2 is such a boring game itslef, I don't like the simple gameplay and scenery.
