Overrated games - Games - Facepunch Forum

Minecraft, specially on facepunch people never stop talking about it. The newer Call of Duty games, the same as minecraft but in real life. Counter-Strike, fun for about 30 minutes, it's just the same crap over and over again. I have friends that play this game religiously, i'll never get what's so good about it.

I own the game, and have experienced joining the same playlist six times with the whole enemy team being a bunch of foreign kids in the same clan with Heartbeat sensors on their guns.

I can't call GTA4 overrated. It is genuinely fantastic, a good benchmark and showcase of technology.

I could say the exact same thing about Crysis.

Definitely World of Warcraft.

But otherwise, it's the best GTA game, a huge improvement to the series in every aspect definitely.

Not going to read the whole thread, but has anyone said Bioshock yet? man is that game overrated.

GTA4, it's the worse game I've ever played. It's so goddamn boring as well. Fucking nothing ever happened and I had so much money that couldn't be spent on anything other then weapons. My friends said that the one's on the ps2 are so awesome so I had my expectations high, and they were quite expertly dashed. Niko was such a jerk

MW2. I played the multiplayer for 2 hours straight, and that was a righteous romp. But the campaign was bland "shoot the Muslims" crap.

Minecraft. You know it gets boring quick.

Oblivion, its fun and all but I got bored of it really quick, not nearly as good as Morrowind which I am really enjoying right now.

Few games can stand up to the passing of time. It's not a crime to fondly remember a game. I thought Half-Life 2 was awesome. Same with 1. But aside from HL1 making scripted sequences a driving force of the story, there were both pretty standard FPS games. But they were awesome at the time. And if you played HL2 the month it came out, with the graphics as high as you could get them, i can't see how you didn't at least get a little blown away by the graphics... WAY BACK THEN!

Halo 2, 3, and ODST, MW2, Bioshock 1 & 2, every Blizzard game ever, Crysis, Mafia 2, GTA4, BC2, Gears of War 1 & 2, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands and...I don't know...Killzone 2? Was that game well received? Who cares. But yeah, any brown shooter that gets anything above a polite nod in terms of reception is overrated in my book. Seriously, stop buying these games. Instead of going out and buying [I]Brown Shoot 2: Brown Harder,[/I] play an older brown shooter, I promise you will not be robbed of any unique experiences.

how is crysis overrated? everyone always bitches about it, its highly underrated imo

The entire Zelda series Seriously, what is so good about this series other then nostalgia for people who actually played it as a kid

[b]TOUHOU[/b] - Seriously, I don't understand why Touhou is so goddamn popular. The music is not that great as the fans say. Touhou-games are not even difficult! I don't get why most of people automatically assume MORE BULLETS = MORE DIFFICULT. Yes, it affects difficulty, but there are tons of harder games with less bullets ( Image Fight, Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou, most of arcade-shmups ). Most of scoring-systems are pretty boring, artwork sucks ( ZUN cannot draw ) and characters are not interesting. I think they are pretty good games, but seriously, they are way too overrated. [b]Ikaruga.[/b] - Okay, to be honest, while I love the genre, I find the scoring-system of this game little boring. Polarity system is cool, but it becomes boring in some places. [b]Some Final Fantasies.[/b] - FFVI and FFVII especially. FFV, FFVI and FFIX are great though. [b]Halo.[/b] - I just don't get it what is so goddamn good about this game-series.
