No.. Because you get more hours of entertainment out of the same price.

There's some replay value in ME. You can always vary up your route to see if you can do it better, faster, or more stylishly. You can try and kill everyone (HA! Good fucking luck with that, though). Or just run around like a twit jumping off stuff and sliding around.

You do realize all of her animation was mo-capped, right?
This isn't surprising, as for the wall running, I mean in the sense of duration, the length is insane, if it was shorter I wouldn't probably care at all. She can wall run for quite a bit longer than she should in my opinion though. As for the mo-capping, yeah that's not surprising, but I don't think a person actually ran on a wall for that long, nor made some of the jumps she did. Mo-capping doesn't mean all the stunts were simulated perfectly. I can promise you there is going to be at least one stunt in this game that is probably impossible without some sort of aid.
I watched a gameplay trailer and it looks pretty good.
I'm interested how it would perform on my PC, I've seena PS3 720p video and it was pretty choppy with low res textures and no AA.
Edit: Is there a PC demo? I want to check it out.
Haha awesome, this is out tomorrow.

Good news, it's actually out on the 14th.
Sucks that the game is only like, 5 hours max (roughly portal length for me), especially since the story apparently sucks balls and it's full price.

Demo says the 11th. You sir, are mistaken.
Tried the demo, great game, something different for once.
But it's sad to know that there is no multiplayer, really CTF,tag and race would be awesome online.

I loled.

Then don't use it.
Glad you liked it too.
That was freaking epic.

You mean like Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Portal...
Just because a game is short, doesn't mean it can't be good. People like you along with graphic whores should just either stop complaining to everyone else and do what you want to do, or give up gaming.

I'm pretty sure that Fallout 3 has a bit more different ways to play the game...

Nice logic except it fails on the fact that all those games are episodic in nature, and were not full-price.
HL2 was 15 hours long for me by the way, AND it included counterstrike for multiplayer.
Episode 1 and Episode 2 were all only $20-$30 for their length, as was portal.
This is the same length as Episode 2/Portal, except we are paying a full $60 for it, AND it doesn't include any kind of real replayablity options other than time trials.
EA is a publisher. All they do is manufacture and market. They don't develop the game, that's DICE's job. Therefore, if the game is ruined, it's the developer's fault, as EA has nothing to do with the development, unless the game is developed in-studio.
Neither do those other games. That, and I can finish HL2 in an afternoon, so I have no idea where you got 15 hours from.
Anyway, my point stands. If it's short god forbid it being any good unless it's made my the all holy Valve.

You know how long Mirror's Edge is already? Is it out already?
You know how long Mirror's Edge is already? Is it out already?
Exactly.
Actually if you guys bothered to pay attention you'd see they're turning this game into a three-game series. So stuff it.
Already a Trilogy? That's just awesome the game isn't even out! :dumb:

You can plan a trilogy before releasing something you know.

The Gamespot review sucked, big time.
You know how long Mirror's Edge is already? Is it out already?
Um, yes I do. Incase you haven't seen reviewers get pre-release copies and there are already about 5-10 reviews completed for the game. The general consensus on how long it takes to beat the entire game is about 5-6 hours for the first time play-through.

You didn't read my post did you? It's about getting the bang for your buck.
No matter how good you think Portal is, or Episode 2 is, they are not worth $60 in value.
HL2 took me 15 hours to beat on my first play through. Sure I could beat it an an afternoon now if I went at it, but when you play it the first time it's not the same.
It's a very meaty single player expereince, couple that with the fact that the full $50 package also included a full multiplayer game for it's first release, which made it worth the value. The fact that it was a great game only was icing on the cake, because you got a meaty expereince for your value that also tasted good.
HL2 Episode 2, Portal, and TF2 were all included in a big meaty $60 value box (I'm going to assume the HL2 and Episode 1 additions are to be considered free for the sake of the example). You get a good 4-5 hour long expereince with Episode 2 for the first play through, a good 4-5 hour experience with Portal the first play through and doing all the misc challenges (that's already about 10 hours worth of singleplayer experience), AND you get TF2, which I've personally spent a good 40-50 hours playing total. That's a good deal for $60, a VERY good deal especailly considering the games included are absolutely great.
However, with Mirrors edge, we get a 6 or so hour experience for the first play through INCLUDING all the challegnes (although there is light replayablity there if you're the kind of person who likes to constantly try to get a better score or loves speedruns), and that's it. But, you still have to pay a full $60 price tag (Episode 2 and portal by themselves only had a value of $20-$30 to compaire on release, which is more than half the price of Mirror's Edge.). Even if the expereince of gameplay is great and flawless (which it isn't, but overall is very good), it doesn't help the fact that for your money you're getting a cheapened expereince.
This game is worth a rent only in my eyes. A game that would be great to play, but once you are done you are done, and something like that is not worth a full $60 price tag if the longevity of the game is only 6 or so hours before you've done all there is. The only games I enjoy replaying are open ended expereinces like Oblivion personally.
Stupid Sweden selling this game for 92$... I never even got my pre-order code! Or my runner bag! Fucking Gamestop...
You know how long Mirror's Edge is already? Is it out already?
In U.S. it came out yesterday.
Picked this up and was super excited for it. Disappointed is not the word, it's certainly fast paced and fun but there's been a few problems for me.
Firstly, there's times where you have no idea at all where to go. I didn't know about the HIT B BUTTON TO LOOK IN RIGHT DIRECTION at first and I thought I was paying good attention. Even with that option, it's still hard to figure out at times.
Second, you best my having a spare controller because you're going to break one from frustration. This game has had me fuming by the second chapter, it expects you to trial & error everything consistently throughout the story and it's not very forgiving. There's also been a few times where Faith decides to not run on walls, catch a ledge, and just fall to her death thanks to some non-responsive controls.
Besides those two problems, when the game is good, it's good. It had me at the edge of my seat during a nice gun fight and being chased by blues. I'd rather keep running around though than having to deal with all these stupid puzzles that depend on you dying 1,000,000 times.
AND now on Chapter 4, I'm stuck yet again with some puzzle that is really impossible to figure out.
That was freaking epic.
