That'd be sick, dozens of new maps... They totally should!
Mirrors Edge was disappointing.
Got it for Christmas and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Awesome game, will buy for the PC, Generic shooters make me vomit, i want new stuff, Crysis and Crysis Warhead was the only fresh air i've gotten since 2007 and is getting old. Mirrors Edge is a great game. Edit: And don't get me starting about the graphics, they look absolutely amazing and another baloon of fresh air is the lack of detail, It looks very clean, Something that in other games doesn't look very well, in mirrors edge it does, i LOVE this color scheme.
I was disappointed by the game :(
Got it for Christmas and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Same here, I really don't think that the story mode is too short. I haven't finished it yet though, so I can be wrong. But nine chapters SEMMS very long.
I see it as the kind of game that either clicks with you or doesn't. Gametrailers said it best that if you're looking for something fresh and new, definitely give it a shot. Personally, I love this game. It's exactly the breathe of fresh air I've been wanting from a game for a long time. Over the years, I've seen the difficulty in games drop dramatically because of the need to dumb it down for the masses. This game, and I'll say it right now, is hard. And by hard I mean if you intend to get all the achievments/trophies to 100% it and beat the game inside and out, you will definitely get your money's worth. I've wanted a game that will push me to my absolute limits when it comes to gaming, I think I can safely say in the 15 years I have played games, this is the most challenging one I've ever tackled. Sure the single player first playthrough might be short, but then comes time trials and speedruns, where the fun (and frustration) is really at. Let me put it this way, if you get within the speedrun time limit for any level, those are achievments/trophies you'll actually feel like you achieved something and feel good for earning them. Because at it currently stands on both versions (PS3/360), only a handful of people have (myself included).
This. I'm not normally one for speedruns and time trials but the feeling of satisfaction when you go through it without making mistakes is unmatched.
I suck at this game. I have this stupid embedded FPS way of playing. I know it would be much more fun for me to evade groups of soldiers and do awesome agile moves and shit, but that's actually much harder for me. I can't even do "playground one"'s time trial without repeating it about 50 or so times to get a good score. And that was with ghosts. So I end up killing all the people in the game and feeling a bit let down. I know it's not he game, which is great fun when I do it right, but it's me. I just can't seem to do the stuff others can with it.

First time I disarmed a guy, I immediately noticed how much slower I ran and just chucked the gun. It's an awesome feeling playing hide and seek with a SWAT team and taking them all down without a gun.
I know, and that's what gets me. That I can't get all the fun out of it, because there is some stuff I just can't do.
is this game worth a buy?
Sorry if I can't be arsed to go through all the pages but any release date on the PC version?
Sorry if I can't be arsed to go through all the pages but any release date on the PC version?
Also would like to know.
There's not many games out there where you can run up a wall, backlip off and kick a random guy in the face.
Lugaru? Toribash?
If there was a map editor, people would make Tomb Raider maps. AWESOME. I'd make an awesome playground, and Gm_construct. :silent:
Lugaru? Toribash?
Lugaru is crap, and in toribash you can't.
The fuck? Double post got ninja'd.
I genuinely like this game, it's original and tense in some parts and it's lots of fun. The only real downside in my opinion is that it's too short, I got it for Christmas and played it on and off for a few hours a day since and I've done the campaign already. If you've never played it before then it might be worth trying it on the harder difficulty so it lasts somewhat longer.
and you end up giving up because progress to time ratio is shit.
I've gotten to chapter 4 and I'm bored with the game. My brother just beat it so I think I'll turn it in for something else..
Whoever asked for the release date: January 2009
Mirror's Edge is the kind of game that either ticks with you or not. I loved it, I played and replayed and replayed, and trying to do the time trials. Edit:
Whoever asked for the release date: January 2009
It's january already.
There better be some kickass soundtrack playing on the background while you go running around the city at max speed. Soundtrack usually makes 49% of the game. If anyone has a PS3 and Super Stardust HD, they know what I'm talking about.
Lugaru? Toribash?
There are walls in Toribash?
Sorry if I can't be arsed to go through all the pages but any release date on the PC version?
Early January 09.
PC release dats according to wiki: Microsoft Windows North America January 13, 2009 Rest of world January 16, 2009
If the map maker is released, I would make gm_flatgrass. . . . :v:
I would make a Tomb Raider map. And gm_bigcity.
Some sort of map editor would be fucking awesome. The replayability from custom maps alone would be enough to keep me entertained for years.
We should start an online petition asking for Mirror's Edge to have a map editor.
