Mirror's Edge Megathread - Games

PhysX worked for me when I tried a second time :D It's really fucking awesome. Also the ending was shit.

For people who complain that they are forced to kill, if it was in RL, then I bet you wouldn't be able to just run away from swat team, and in Mirror's they shoot pretty bad, so it isn't as bad.

And why didn't they make these black lines on top and bottom toggleable? On assassin's creed you had a choice to turn it off or not.

Why is chapter two bugged for me? I run for maybe 10 seconds, then I slow down like I'm walking, but I'm not. This game rocks, and I don't want my experience to be destroyed because of this!

This game runs incredibly fine on my gaming laptop. Looks exactly as the graphics in the console demo. 2 Gb 2.2 Dual Core Nvidia 8600M GT

Um... I just finished it! It was better than what some people say. I don't think it's too short, if it was longer it would probably make it too repetitive. Although it could use some conclusion cutscene or something. It ran great. And I could turn on the physx after all (even though I have ATI card). Only problem is that if I have it turned on and somebody shoots the glass, it starts to lag like hell, and it takes ages for shards to reach the floor. The lag makes it unplayable. Is there any fix or something for that? I don't think its the problem with my graphics or processor, cause I tried to lower the settings and resolution to minimum and I still get that same amount of lag. Or is there a way to turn off that particular glass effect?

If you neither have an nVidia graphics card supporting PhysX, nor an Aegia PhysX PPU, PhysX will be executed on the CPU -> fucking slow.

I made the idiotic mistake of buying the game. I should have just kept playing the demo.

This game looks fun, but as soon as I start it up I get the error report bullshit.

Don't buy this game guys, the combat is ridiculously hard. Not because I'm not good, I'm actually pretty good, but because you have to fight normally 5+ people at a time, all with guns, when you're unarmed. And it takes about 3-5 shots to dies. I really do like the gameplay other than that though.

That's a shit reason to not buy the game, some people will like the combat.

You should only be attacking the enemies that glow red! :P

I really do like the gameplay other than that though.[/QUOTE] um its not about the combat! did you read the hints on the loading screen! take them out one at a time disarm and kill them. and you dont run straight at them. and most of them have either the shotgun or future shot gun. which is very very bad

I just finished it It's really REALLY REALLY AWESOME! It's better than GTA4, and probably COD4. Can't wait for the sequel.

YOU DON'T CHEAT IN THIS GAME, DAMMIT. PLAY RIGHT. EDIT: For all you guys complaining about graphics lag: FFS, LEARN2COMPUTER This game was originally intended for XBOX360, NOT PC. It's a crappy PC port similar to GTAIV. It's not going to play nice with your hardware, so your hardware's gotta bring the game to this software. If you don't have the newest card/drivers, there's going to be features incompatible with your machine. This is (HURR HURR PUN AHEAD) Cutting edge graphics. The scenery is 100% dynamic 3d, so unless you're got the BFG 10k of chipsets, expect to degrade a little on performance. My DeLL XPS with a 2.6 GHz Processor, 4Gb of RAM, and NVidia 8600M GT Video chipest (READ: The shit) can't run it with all settings at max.

is this game worth £26 then or could my precious pennies be spent on a better piece of entertainment software.
