I think it is not

Wow. It's fun to cheat AFTER playing it correctly :/
And this is why you still have a dogbutt avatar and 10 posts.

...
Phew, I've lurked since GMOD 8, and the only reason I have a dogbutt avatar is because I don't feel like taking the effort of uploading an avatar.
Also, by cheats I meant third-person mode and the like.
Obviously by seeing my character from behind, rather than through her eyes, is going to make the game MUCH easier.
I also find that the fun of PC games is changing them to your liking. You hardly have any reason to tell me how to play the game, as I'll play it how I please regardless of what opinions I receive on a free-registration forum.
Not to mention I've completed the game twice already, once on PS3, and once on PC.
Now, has anyone figured our how to make said cheats work?

Sorry for the doublepost.
Have you even looked at your local content? It's about 45x harder to put together than HAMMER or what-have-you. You can't just CONSTRUCT maps. This is literally a dynamic 3d city, each loaction modelled after a select bunch of rooftops on a predetermined skyline. (Don't believe me? Go to chapter select, IT SHOWS YOU.) No maps can be MADE, just edited. And there's no editor. Wait for the inevitable sequel or EP. If there's one thing EA can do, it's abuse their partners and force them to churn out Expansion/Sequel after Sequel. I'm surprised l4dEP2 isn't already being advertised. :V

Totally agree, it would at least giive this game a tiny bit of replay value.
Great game!
I have it on pc
can't play it now cos my keyboard is fucked

Run back and forth. The surrounding rooftops will move in perspective with your movement all the way to the skybox.

Why the fuck are you even starting this pile of bullshit?
Firstly, there's a noclip style cheat that will allow me to return to the place I jumped from, which would mean I don't have to restart the game. :/
I asked a question about if anyone had figured out how the cheats that -THE DEVELOPERS- put into the game work...
I don't see how the hell you've decided to take it upon yourself to advocate non-cheating in -single player games-, but you should probably just stop it.
It's doing no good, and just makes me want to ask again.
I know for a fact that someone has made third-person work.

I've tried. If you've been on this forum long enough, you should know that I'm the guy who always want to open up a game after finishing it and add mods/change stuff in it to make it funner.
Anyway, editing the TdInput.ini file doesn't work. When you bind a key to something like "slomo .3" or "god" it SHOULD work (worked in both UT 3 and Bioshock, both of which use the Unreal 3 engine). But, you know how EA is. When you start up the game, your changes in the TdInput.ini file is IMMEDIATELY discarded and the default TdInput.ini is put back in its place. Well, what about setting it to read-only you say? Well, i did that. Somehow, that doesn't work either.
Here's what i hypothesize: the TdInput.ini file is an OUPUT of the controls you have (meaning it only SHOWS you what button does what and DOES NOT TELL the game what button does what). Well, if you go to this file called in the following path: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Mirror's Edge\Engine\Config\BaseInput, then you should be able to fix the controls to give you god mode and infinite ammo. Sounds like our problems are solved and we can have some fun yeah? Eh...Heh, well, there's a catch. In that text file there's a sentence saying "# Don't modify this file. If you do, your game may not start." It stays true to what it says. If you dare add ONE LETTER in the text file, the game will show you a message saying the data is corrupted.
We're not done yet. In GTA 4, the files function the same way. If you fix ANYTHING in the files, you'd end up with the game not starting. Some dude online made a program that tricks the game into thinking that it's running on default files, hence you can mod the game. Now, if there is a similar program for MIrror's Edge, you will be given full access (i hope) to the console and all the cheats available in the Unreal 3 Engine.
I don't get it, people are complaining about the combat but why? It's an FPS, with guns, pew pew. Only reason I think the reason complain is that this xbox achievement where you don't use any guns seems to have rammed it into peoples heads that the game doesn't want you to use guns..
Damn.

Heh, you don't know EA.
One reason why they make cheating this impossible is...can you guess it? Take 3 seconds to do it
Is because they don't want you to get on the leaderboards for the stats time trial. This isn't an attempt to get people to have more fun to interact online, it's an attempt to slice the pirate's left arm. But this actually slices the both arms of the game owners. Just like Spore, they add some kind of online connection so that pirated players wouldn't feel so "complete" or "legitimate" about their game. Wait, here comes the irony!!! Notice how the government in ME is oppressive. Well, EA is oppressive to us by making these anti-piracy schemes and fucking up the fun element of the game.
Fuck you Callaghan, you work with EA. I will kill you.

You're still blathering. It's annoying.
OH GOD INTERNET DRAMA SHITPILE. You're the one who's starting this. If there's one thing that FacePunch taught us before Garry gave into the 11 year old stupid fucks, it's that you need to lern2english before coming on here and posting anything. Cheats do not equal hacks or mods, don't play like that's what you meant.
Cheat all you want, I don't give a fuck. But coming into the megathread and posting a semi-literate variant of "HEY GUISE THIS GAME IS GUD WHER R THE CHEATS" is going to piss a bunch of people off. Get used to it, or leave.
This game was never made to be cheated with, pre- or post-play. It's made to test what you can do while still dealing with (hurhur) simulated reality. Noclip will ruin the magic of this game faster than you can say "MingeBag."
Don't post like you're some kind of superior to me, or so help me, I will splatter your intellectual premise all over this forum. Behind that pc is another human being, no greater than myself. I will never view ANYONE as superior to myself, unless they're my parents, my superior at work, or if you're wearing a badge or military uniform. Get used to it, or come to my door and prove you're better.
-- -- --
Anyway. I'm going to attempt my second run today, and see where I can go other than the mainstream. I noticed from both the E3 trailers and player vidoes that unless in a "puzzle" area (denoted by special music changes and tight, usually indoor conditions) there's usually about 3-4 different ways to get where you need to go. Some don't even trigger your runnervision. Perfect example is in the flight level. I went the main route after leaving RP&A, but it appears there's a faster, more difficult route, and a longer, speed-building route as well.
I don't get it, people are complaining about the combat but why? It's an FPS, with guns, pew pew. It doesn't. This game likes to reinforce the general overall theme of "Do what you need to, with style and speed." It's not made for you to grab a gun and open up on the nearest SWAT guy. It's more of a fast-paced Jump-off-the-roof-kick-that-guy-in-the-face-get-his-gun-pew-pew-drop-it-and-run all in one smooth motion kind of game. I ONLY needed to use a gun in the storm drains, on the van in the hueg puzzle level, on the boat, and in the shard. Even then, I was quick about it. Faith has about the same level of experience with a gun as any average human, which is pretty much only the basics, which is why, if you open up with weapons, it quickly recoils you out of control and gets you killed.

Semi-literate?
This is the internet, and I'll be as literate as I please.
You've blown a question of "Has anyone figured out how to use the cheats?" into the oh-so-classic argument of "I'm superior because I can spell better, LERN2SPALL". That argument is nothing but an obvious sign that you're without any real argument to the point I've made and will now attack unrelated things in order to continue to appear superior to I. If you'd like to rest on that argument I'd be glad to pick your grammar and spelling apart to no end, but that would not benefit either of us, because that would use my time, and you're obviously incapable of learning which would render such a lesson useless to your primitive mind.
But no, it couldn't be left at that, you added an "I'm not superior to anyone, and neither are you" paragraph to your angry rant in order to appear unbiased or some shit like that.
Also, if you don't care if I cheat or not, why the hell would you post about my desire to see my character from behind?
One last thing, if you don't find yourself superior to me, then why do you act like you can read my mind?
Cheats can mean any number of things, and anyone arguing that obviously has a grasp of the English language equivalent to an elementary school student. I'd appreciate it if you'd allow me to describe to you ( the one ignorant of my meaning, obviously ) what I meant, before you assume what I was thinking ( as you obviously did, being the all-knowing person you believe yourself to be ) as that would avoid argument and you sir, making yourself look like a pretentious childish moron.
:D

1. You move slower
2. Guns are inaccurate as fuck
3. You only get one clip, then you toss away the gun

So my objection is that the game makes you use guns (i.e. offers you no escape until you have killed the enemies), which is more of a disadvantage than an advantage.

If it didn't want you to fight it wouldn't give you guns, and how is it a disadvantage? Climbing up a slow ass'd pipe away from them isn't going to do any good? You always die much faster than the enemies.. well in your case, I never died from a SWAT guy, unless we are talking ninjas.
Great game.
Horrible depth of field. I love most of the high graphics options, but what is with the depth of field? When there is a wall in front of me, what is stopping me from focusing on stuff behind it? I run it on lowest graphics options just because of the horrible DOF.

By the way, if you atleast want god mode/loc save+teleport to loc and don't want to wait for CheatHappens to stop being greedy, there are two trainers for 1.01 here.

How well will I be able to run this?
Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz
4GB RAM

Better than fine.
Hmmm, if there is gonna be a demo coming out, I wanna see how it runs.
Can anyone give me a estimate for my average fps?
ATi 3850 AGP
Pentium 4 @ 3.2 ghz
2GB RAM
=\
You'll be fine.
