Holy jesus, it looks real.
Some shots i took today on the PC version... looks so good:D *Amazing Screenshots*
Man, those screenshots almost make me want to sell my 360 version and buy the PC version. I'm assuming those are scaled down. If the originals are 1680x1050 or higher I would in debt to you if you could upload the originals.
I have some random 1680x1050's on my flickr page, but to be fair most of them are just from the end cutscene.
Well, if you have one of the ending vista, than I'm interested. Edit: Nevermind, I just looked a few pages back and found your gallery.
1) My god, some of those look real. 2) How much money did you drop for a rig that can play that?!?!
The game has what seems to be ambient occlusion, colour bleeding/global illumination and soft shadowing. However it's all pre-computed meaning they're just pictures on the walls, it's like if you had a picture of something as the skybox, sure it'll look real in a screenshot but it'll soon be obvious what it is and you'll realise it actually sticks out and looks bad in game. Although Mirror's Edge is still a good looking game, nothing is dynamic, it's funny because there's all this fuss over PhysX support yet there aren't any objects that actually move physically unlike in most other games from the past few years, they're all stuck to the ground, uncoloured yet, nicely lit. All that matters though is that it's a good looking game with great stability on performance, so the answer to the cost: my £60 HD4670 can run the game at 1280 x 1024 8QAA from as low as 20fps when shit's happening outside, but indoors it almost stays at a constant 60fps and indoors is where it looks best. The textures are crazy. Does it use a lot of VRAM?
The Sewers levels and police state aspect made it feel a little like Half Life 2.
wait... WHAT? where is that room!!!
It's just a bit before the trains (underground ones) that everyone hates for some reason.
Don't buy this game guys, the combat is ridiculously hard. Not because I'm not good, I'm actually pretty good, but because you have to fight normally 5+ people at a time, all with guns, when you're unarmed. And it takes about 3-5 shots to dies. I really do like the gameplay other than that though.
It's because you're not good. Agh, I keep forgetting there's no auto merge.
To be honest, I love the pre-computated stuff. Makes it look so much better.
The game is so much more fun with runner vision turned off. But they really need a free-roam mode.
To be honest, I love the pre-computated stuff. Makes it look so much better.
For the moment, me too. But just you wait 'till we can get quality like that in a realtime global illumination solution. I love dynamic lighting. Whether a new game has some form of dynamic lighting is a very big thing to me. GTA IV on the PC is great, if you have the hardware capable of running it with 16 dynamic lights and all the other features.
So. Game runs pretty good on highest settings at 1280x1024 on my 9800GT. Never played a UE3 game before, and I'm happy to see that the engine is optimized as hell. One problem though: all the ambiance and street noise is really fucking loud so it's hard to concentrate on playing.
Got the game. Runs 60fps when nothing is happening, fluctuates around 35-45 when there's action. High details and stuff, no anti-aliasing, 1680x1050, V-Sync, Physx Enabled. 8800GT 512mb - AMD Athlon X2 6400+ - Vista 32-bit - 2GB RAM I went picture happy on Chapter 1 with FRAPS. Rule: If you can run Crysis all right, you can run Mirror's Edge pretty well. Edit: I'm using my Wired 360 controller when playing the game, that's why there are 360 Back Buttons in some of the pictures.
wow that looks better than crysis!!

Can everybody stop posting mass image posts? It lags like a humping dog. Anyway I have a problem with PhysX, when I'm on the map with the cloth thingies hanging from the construction site it slows down to like 10fps even though I have PhysX enabled both in nvidia controll panel and in games option menu. I have a 9600gt by the way and I doubt it's because of that.
Fixed.

You most probably accidently skipped cutscene, i know i have, it's damn annoying when your using the space key that often and it skips it.
I pre-ordered the game, and I haven't seen the time trial map pack anywhere. Is it already out for PC?
I pre-ordered the game, and I haven't seen the time trial map pack anywhere. Is it already out for PC?
It only comes out on/after the 29th. Snip.
What is your guys fastest time trail time on "Heat"?
Damn, I might be getting this game soon. Get me hyped, FP...
I run crysis barely on medium, but ME runs all maxed out on good 45 fps. In one place, I think in canals, I stopped and actually thought "That looks fucking real" ME has achieved awesome visuals with it's clean environments and so.
What is your guys fastest time trail time on "Heat"?
I think I barely got one star.
Does this game take screenshots of some button or something?
