Oooh a gameplay compilation with the theme tune I've never seen that before...
Most games have a much lower field of view than what we actually see, so if you were to look through a small box to replicate a game's FoV (or a video camera) and would bend down a bit rather than just moving your head down, you'd probably see your waist down.
Didn't they have much larger FOV in Mirror's Edge to replicate the sight of the human eye? So in this perspective, he's right.
it's absurd to look down in most games and see just your legs.
if they can't get it right, they shouldn't do it. it should be easy to get it right too when everyone on the dev team has a neck and eyes.
What really grinds my gears the most, though, are the print ads. They don't stick to the clean-and-synthetic art style and language the game does.
I can't stand the character.
I do NOT want to play as a female asian. What's with that tattoo on the eye?
I just don't like her. :(
Why not? I think it's a bit of a change. And the tattoo is the 'runner emblem', if someone has it, then they're a runner.

Set-in-there-ways-bitch-about-everything-by-EA people that's why.
You mean the one on her eye?
Apparently, you're not alone:

And she has tits.

How'd you get a level to load? The UnrealEd is making me rage, it's one DIFFERENT quirk after another.
Hmm, what's these "cop spawn" icons and "runner spawn" icons doing in the TDLevelDesign folder?
One would presume the other spawns cops and the other spawns runners.
One would presume the other spawns cops and the other spawns runners.
They're probably editor files. I was sort of hoping they'd be multiplayer icons, but that'd be retarded.
These icons were from scrapped multiplayer.

TBH, they looked retarded.
They were hatching eggs.

Use the one built in to mirror's edge:

I don't know much about UE3, but maybe the editor you're using doesn't support the Beast lighting system they used for Mirror's Edge? (Or you don't have the Beast files so it can't use them but still tries)
Windowed mode? Whats the fucking point in a game without a windowed mode option

Yeah I know about BEAST but dunno what to do to get it. This map editor comes with mirror's edge, so I wish they included the proper compiler too

Yes, but how do I actually load a map? I've been browsing through the packages all day.
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\CookedPC\Maps
You'll see folders like Menu and SP00. To get open the training level open Tutorial_p.me1. UnrealED will want to open .umap files, set it to look for all files so you can see it in the open window. Be sure to back up your stuff before making any changes.
I was banned for creating a thread with my multi-player idea (reason: missed the megathread) so I thought I might as well post it here.

I've seen the ending, and that -is not- the same third person model as you see in the third-person camera mode.
They are different models.
That model is used in the reflection in the building in the first level, and I believe that's the only other use aside from the ending.
The model that you see in first and third-person camera modes is different.
The animations are wildly incorrect looking from the third-person perspective, as are a few of the proportions.
The model shown the ending is a completely separate model, that you only see there and in the first level.

He's right - the cinematic model has baked shading and proper hair transparency.
Arrgh, stop crashing just after loading the packages.
Well, i just finished it, I gotta say it was pretty fun, the ending was pretty crumby though, it just felt unfinished and inconsistent.
What i think is crap at the ending:
[sp]1. How the hell does Faith dodge fire from 4 guys that are shooting from behind her at point blank range with assault rifles?
2. When faith kicks the guy out of the chopper, how does the pilot suddenly fucking die and lose control of everything?
3. When Faith helps up her sister, they managed to stand and stare out at the city, i mean, where the fuck did the SWAT/Police/Security guys go? weren't they just shooting at faith on the helipad a couple of minutes back?[/sp]
You're thinking into it too much.
No, it makes sense considering its blatantly obvious. I mean if the inconsistencies were more discrete then yeah, I'd brush them off.
I meant it doesn't matter. It is a video-game. Shit doesn't need to make sense.
