The Gamestop employees in my town look at me funny when I mention PC.
The guys at the gamestop in my town are really helpful and are willing to cut you deals on your trade ins and stuff like that. The play n trade staff were all these lazy fat guys who just sat behind the counter at the back of the store playing demos the whole time, and they only lasted about a month. Your personal experience can vary greatly from area to area, it's unfair to say that all the stores of one type suck or are better. [editline]02:33AM[/editline] Most of those games will never sell, and you're lucky to get that for it.
Not when I have to go dive everywhere for a stupid manual. I won't lie; Gamestop has beastly prices.
There's a great independently run games store opposite my school called the GamesMen (Australia). The guy that's usually working there knows a ton about games and is really helpful. It's where I've been making more and more of my purchases lately and it's sort of awesome to have the guy comment on your awesome taste in games.
Here's a story for the ages. Copy pasta from a thread I made about 2 years ago regarding customer service *story* K back to the present here. So yeah, if there was any experience that truly solidified my hatred toward gaming stores, this one might just top them all.
Sounds like complete bullshit to me
I don't shop at Gamestop anymore, they fucked me over on STALKER Call of Pripyat so now I shop at Best Buy and Target.
They seriously sell games for 20-30 dollars but give you .25 - .50 cents for them, it's complete bullshit.
I stopped buying most of my games from stores like these when I started buying from Steam. Although with the high prices for most new games for NZ/Aus, i'll probably start buying retail again. It's such a shame because buying from Steam used to be cheaper than buying retail :frown:
Better employees.
The store's quality really depends on the employees. Like if they know about games and what not. I gave our local gamestop the seal of approval when he understood my sandvich shirt.
