US? Have fun
What the hell do you mean by "US? Have fun"??
I miss the fact that in 40man raids, you could find every kind of players: Afkers, wankers, noobs, healers, tanks, good players, a raid leader, a husband and wife, nearly every type of a player.
40man raids > 25man raids BIG TIME.
However, most of classic WoW infact sucked, or was fucked up.
I'll give you an example: Ever seen some newbies at 1300 rating whining how classic WoW pvp was at it's finest? Well, obviously you gotta have rank 11-14 to have rights to say it.
It wasn't at it's finest back then, far from it in fact. Rank13-14 grind took 1 month (depending on server), when you had to farm 800k-1milj honor EVERY DAY. Now that's a time-sink, is it?
And once you went on a week holiday, it was all over.
When you achieved that rank (13 or 14), you had a full epic pvp(not like there was big difference between pve and pvp) gear. You dealt good damage with that gear. However, AQ40 and Naxxramas40 gears were better when they turned out. Pve items were far easier to obtain (imo), seeing as you have to farm months and months grinding same old battlegrounds for over and over to get a set, which didn't even compete with them anymore. Getting rank13-14 gear was "worth it", as long as AQ40's and Naxxramas40's weren't coming any time soon.
So yeah, I'd say this game has turned out better, of course there's been bad or terrible changes, but yeah, I don't miss classic WoW too much.
EDIT Oh, quite a long post. Didn't even notice. I felt like typing, it seems.
I miss it because I don't like the new level caps because I'm too lazy to level my 60s to 80, or even 70 for that matter so I played my friend's level 80 rogue and pally in PvP
there is a guild on my realm that is preparing to lock a bunch of guys at 60 in 3.2 to do things like this
I was contemplating starting a 60 guild, however I'm lazy when it comes to wow, I'd slack and have to hand GM over to someone who remembered things ingame.
Now it's in Northrend and is a level 80 raid instance and unavailable in it's classic, pre-tbc form.
As much as it'd be bullshit to have 2 Naxx's, I think its a fucking rip for people who want to 1. Stick to Vanilla and 2. Just wanna raid old places.

Good ol PvP grind. I miss southshore/tarren mill when honor was introduced.

It had it moments yeah, I remember those times too.
I was leveling through Tarren Mill at that point. Never really gotten into that. Battlegrounds and.. stuff were released to pull people out of Tarren Mill/Southshore. I sure got ganked, a lot. Memorable. :p
I do miss classic, but I think TBC made the game much much better, and then WotLK sent it down the drain in terms of user friendliness and excitement.
i remember when WSG was just launched and the only way to get into it was the BG portal.
Place was packed man
Haha yeah, ashenvale.
Nice.
Ive only ever been to the BG portal to get my level 19/29 twink gear :')
I'm glad I didn't play Vanilla wow.
I want vanilla servers back, level 60 limit and the latest version of Vanilla WoW before TBC and WOTLK.
One thing to be changed though: 100-man raids should be added.
I played back in the beta, and pre-ordered the game. Played for a while, but I got in a horrible cycle of making new characters. My brother and mom didn't have that problem though. Over 3 accounts they have a crap load of lvl 70s, 4-5 lvl 80s, and a bunch of 40+ characters.
My highest level is only 38 :(
Anyway, my mom and brother are addicted to it.
I'm not at all. I got really bored with it because all I did was play through the beginning of the game a bunch of times on different race/class combinations.
I don't really miss classic WoW though.

Funny story, every FAQ has been removed off the list on the WoW forum except for the pre burning crusade servers.
If it has been asked that much that you have to sticky a FAQ for it, isn't it obvious you would catch more cash when you make one? heck just dedicate one server of the many you have for pre-bc.
I know alot of time, work and moderation are to be considered when it comes to downgrading, but still.
I for one, am still looking for a good private pre-bc server ever since. The last one I found had 200 people playing on both sides. Not enough for me though.

Private servers aren't ever really worth it in my opinion. I have played on quite a few mostly popular ones, and even then they are really shit compared to blizzard's servers. And people who donate to the private servers are just plain retarded.
This is all just my opinion of course. Nothing to argue about.
Vanilla was okay it's all pretty much nostalgia in some sort when you think back to the "good days" of WoW. but really, it's so much better now, even if it's "easier".

they aren't worth it I know, but if blizzard isn't going to do it for us.
Then who will? they can't expect us to really play the game as it is now to 60 and hope we take it for granted.
First they lower the mounts to lvl 30, now to 20, lowered the price from 100 gold to.. 10 gold? etcetera
all those slight changes that might seem convenient for new people but somehow strike a nerve on some of the older people
(I grinded all the 1000 gold myself for my epic mount, so that's why it pisses me off  )
and well, yeah. Changes.
I enjoy current WoW more, but I do miss vanilla. Something about seeing someone in full dungeon gear, or even raid gear gave you this 'holy shit, awesome' feeling that I haven't felt since the release of TBC.
I miss classic WoW sometimes until it hurts.

then stop putting your penis in the CD tray.
also, arena made pvp kind of... bland.
Instead of premade groups of 15 people big going around picking bases, you go in a group of 2, 3 or 5 and kill other people. That's no fun
and you were forced to play arena "or no good PVP gear for you!"
(btw what was up with the crazy raise in stamina in TBC, we went from 5-10-20 stamina per item to 60-80-100 stam per item)

I hate arena.
It's because I don't want to be SRS BIZNIZ. It's why i have a parachute instead of a SPen enchant on my PVP cloak.

so do I, what a coincidence
I also still have my parachute cloak and it was a thing I used very much in pre-burning crusade. Together with noggenfogger
I remember going into mount hyjal with both of those. Those were fun times.
We don't allow speccing further down than the 1 talent in tier 7 talent.
Talents above T7 have been changed since pre-TBC, and VASTLY improved for non-healing hybrid trees.
So no, you're still using Wrath talents.

Arena pulled the pvp balance towards outplaying your opponent, rather than having naxx gear, putting up 2 dots and waiting.
If you don't want to do arena don't expect high end pvp gear. It's like complaining you're forced to do Ulduar for good PvE gear, but for some reason no one complains about that, even though it is really, really boring.

The difference is that pve is he same difficulty for everyone.
If you're a paladin or death knight, you're almost guaranteed good gear because you can quite literally faceroll against half of your opponents.
Back in vanilla, Blizzard had a "sit back and watch" approach that they've abandoned ever since.
How often was a raid nerfed back in Vanilla just to cater to less hardcore / talented players? Hardly ever.
You can't read patch notes nowadays without a bunch of "Well, we thought this fight was too hard for [babies], so we've nerfed it further even though the average guild can take it down with a desirable challenge."
I will admit, there have been some necessary nerfs to raids since Wrath hit, such as some of the trash packs in Ulduar simply being impossible, but they've truly gone out of their way to sacrifice a lot of the challenge in certain fights in order to get more people on the progression level of higher up raiders. And coming next patch, they're putting a stake through the heart of the Tiering system, which was great back in Vanilla. Though the time it took to go from dungeon-goer to AQ40 raider was somewhere in the timespan of years, it still had the system where you couldn't just get a free ticket to the top if you came in late, unless if your guild was full-clearing everything in under 2 hours and there just happened to be an open spot in the schedule.
I've been a raider since I hit 60, never much for the PvP (admittedly, that's gone down the shitter too), and I honestly don't appreciate my achievements and months spent in Naxx and Ulduar being nullified for the sake of new players.
But I must say, I love the raiding itself. The bosses are all creative and complicated enough that everyone in the raid has to be on their game, but without dropping the fun. Yogg-Saron, for example, employs a lot of fresh game mechanics to keep players on their toes. In fact, almost all the bosses in there required attention and quick movement, and that's what will probably keep me playing even with the ridiculous changes in 3.2.

Same could be said for pve.
If your a tanking warrior you'll have a much harder time then your average ranged dps who can click two spells and top the damage meters.
