C'Thun pre-nerf LOLOLOLOL Edit: Or rather pre-ninja nerf :ninja:
I did him twice pre-nerf and once post-nerf. Can't say I liked either of them, I prefer MC and ZG.
C'Thun..good times were had..but not really.
the best thing was the first time c'thun and not knowing to hide your ass behind the wall.
C'Thun Pre nerf was my most favourite boss to take down. He required some skill and a lot of on your toes thinking. After the nerf, he was still a hell of a lot of fun. Ragnaros, and C'Thun were some great fights, and Neffarian has some issues, but was great.
naxx 40 was fucking hard.
Talents above T7 have been changed since pre-TBC, and VASTLY improved for non-healing hybrid trees. So no, you're still using Wrath talents.
Thanks obvious, great save.
Back in vanilla, Blizzard had a "sit back and watch" approach that they've abandoned ever since. How often was a raid nerfed back in Vanilla just to cater to less hardcore / talented players? Hardly ever. You can't read patch notes nowadays without a bunch of "Well, we thought this fight was too hard for [babies], so we've nerfed it further even though the average guild can take it down with a desirable challenge." I will admit, there have been some necessary nerfs to raids since Wrath hit, such as some of the trash packs in Ulduar simply being impossible, but they've truly gone out of their way to sacrifice a lot of the challenge in certain fights in order to get more people on the progression level of higher up raiders. And coming next patch, they're putting a stake through the heart of the Tiering system, which was great back in Vanilla. Though the time it took to go from dungeon-goer to AQ40 raider was somewhere in the timespan of years, it still had the system where you couldn't just get a free ticket to the top if you came in late, unless if your guild was full-clearing everything in under 2 hours and there just happened to be an open spot in the schedule. I've been a raider since I hit 60, never much for the PvP (admittedly, that's gone down the shitter too), and I honestly don't appreciate my achievements and months spent in Naxx and Ulduar being nullified for the sake of new players. But I must say, I love the raiding itself. The bosses are all creative and complicated enough that everyone in the raid has to be on their game, but without dropping the fun. Yogg-Saron, for example, employs a lot of fresh game mechanics to keep players on their toes. In fact, almost all the bosses in there required attention and quick movement, and that's what will probably keep me playing even with the ridiculous changes in 3.2.
Good post
I want vanilla servers back, level 60 limit and the latest version of Vanilla WoW before TBC and WOTLK. One thing to be changed though: 100-man raids should be added.
that would lag like shit tho
that would lag like shit tho
no it wouldnt
When you saw people stand infront of the PVP hall in stormwind/orgrimmar with their shiny epic pvp armor and you thought to yourself "i wanna be that guy".
When you saw people stand infront of the PVP hall in stormwind/orgrimmar with their shiny epic pvp armor and you thought to yourself "i wanna be that guy".
Then you saw him in a bg just after he one shot you and your whole team. Oh and knowing that you'll never be him without losing your job/ stopping going to school and dedicating your whole life to playing bgs.
This makes it obvious you were really fucking bad at WoW.
Or it makes it obvious that you were on server that had bad players and therefore it was very easy for people to get the HWL gear.
Or it makes it obvious that you were on server that had bad players and therefore it was very easy for people to get the HWL gear.
Rofl, I played on Tichondrius in the early days, keep talking out your ass kiddo
Rofl, I played on Tichondrius in the early days, keep talking out your ass kiddo
Then why are you implying that HWL gear was easy to get then <_<.
Rofl, I played on Tichondrius in the early days, keep talking out your ass kiddo
i wish my ass could talk.. then i would make it learn to siiiiiiiiiing
Then why are you implying that HWL gear was easy to get then <_<.
Because I wasn't a shitty player.
It's funny cause this is a "vanilla wow" thread and they've never seen C'Thun. [editline]08:33AM[/editline]
Mmmh.. C'thun. It's no doubt one of the top boss encounters I've ever done. And yes, did it before the nerf. (In fact, didn't even remember it got nerfed) I was kinda noob though in Vanilla WoW, mid-way through Naxxramas40(Progress wise) I realised you could have in fact created Mana Potions. :ohdear:
(In fact, didn't even remember it got nerfed)
That's because it was ninja nerfed in the middle of the night. IE: You probably did it after the nerf.
That's because it was ninja nerfed in the middle of the night. IE: You probably did it after the nerf.
Nah, I didn't. We farmed him for quite long, we didn't even know about Burning Crusade back then, so you are incorrect this time. Edit: Plus we spent long time in Naxx40 aswell, so it couldn't be nerfed when I did it.
uh
Nah, I didn't. We farmed him for quite long, we didn't even know about Burning Crusade back then, so you are incorrect this time. Edit: Plus we spent long time in Naxx40 aswell, so it couldn't be nerfed when I did it.
God, massive facepalm...
God, massive facepalm...
Now WHAT?! :(
uh
uh
Go 'uh' somewhere else, baddie! ;P
uh
Yeah there's a guild on my realm called <Back in the Sixties> and they do this sort of thing. Personally, I picked WoW up after Lich King so I'm still young :).
lul
Now WHAT?! :(
he meant to say, the update was such a ninja update that nobody knows when it happened. But it presumably happened after some of the top raiding guilds killed it, so unless you were there on the top with kungen and his kids you wouldn't have done it before it was ninja-nerfed
Classic WoW for me means before battlegrounds and just with the World PvP system implemented. This was the best time I had while playing this game. Southshore <-> Tarren Mill are one of the things I remember.
