So yeah. I bought this on Steam before I left yesterday for school, and it was downloading @ 16.5kb/s. Now a day later... and it's only at 36.3%. Goddamnit. :suicide: [editline]Trololol[/editline] Would this run well on an XFX Radeon 6870? I take it might be OK, but I don't know. It can't handle the original Crysis worth shit on VHigh in large maps. Drops to like 19.5 or something.
Can anyone copy-paste the commands that turn GI on?
I wonder how good it'll run maxed out at 1080p on my 480, I haven't really played many intensive games other than Metro 2033.
it wasn't. it's just that hargreave knew about the aliens prior to building the suit so it has technology capable of using the alien DNA
The suit was partially made from alien DNA, which makes it a valid reason to call it 'alien'. And most people will have an easier time remembering the end of the game was almost entirely dedicated to the origins and function of the suit. Furthermore, Crysis 1 ended with Admiral Morrison telling us about the alien structure sending signals to some location in M32. I had loved to see Crysis 2 elaborate on this further, or what happened with Raptor team. I felt no connection the the Crysis universe whatsoever other than the moments Prophet showed up. I did like Prophet's several suit flashbacks.

Surely, I saw my mistake there. I am still holding my ground about the suit part at the end.
Would this run well on an XFX Radeon 6870? Fucker, That Topic about how Crysis 2 is sucky compared to the Original got closed just before i was able to say something... Maybe its for the best just incase a PC gamer decides to try and murder me. ...Oh fuck there are PC Gamers everywhere here... -Cough- Dont Hurt me? So, was the Infection thats plaged New York due to the Aliens or something?
if it was MADE from alien dna then why did it need so much alien dna? surely if they had the alien dna at the time they made it they could have skipped the whole process of having to gather... alien dna.
I think it may have been designed to gather the DNA, not been designed with the DNA itself.

The aliens later erected these spires to spread the virus even more. The game still does not tell us why the aliens decided to wipe out Manhattan. And I paid pretty close attention.
I think it may have been designed to gather the DNA, not been designed with the DNA itself.
Yeah, I might have misinterpreted some of the lines said in the story but that doesn't take away the fact that it is able to interface with the DNA. Its true purpose is hardly mentioned in the game, which I find a bit confusing.

The aliens had been on Earth for-fucking-ever and they just woke up and were pissed because of all these humans chilling on their planet. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] Or something like that.
[sp]They live underneath Central Park[/sp]
The structure you see rising up from underneath the ground in the later stages of the game somewhat (obviously) resembles the diagram you see when in the "Core" level in Crysis one. The squid thing.
As far as I can tell, other than Prophet being in the game, Crysis 2 has fuck-all to do with the first. I wonder if Crytek pulled a reverse Bad Company and forgot the first game to help the lost console players.

The ending of the game confused me like... Really badly. I don't think I quite caught everything because I skipped that one mission involving breaking Hargreave out of Roosevelt Island. It crashed everytime I attempted to load the map, so I went around it. [sp]What'd I miss, and why was Tara all of a sudden helping us?[/sp] [editline]Holysheet[/editline] Oh dear god, I just read it. Mind is full of fuck. :byodood:

Like with Dragon Age 2.
It's because they will release tons of new DLC and more Crysis Warhead's
Seems like today's marketing trend, going to add this to my essay as well.
It seems so, I noticed that with all 'major' sequels, they somehow deny the preceding game's existence so they can attract new players. Like with Dragon Age 2.
About 50% of DA2 was references to Origins. :raise:
I think it may have been designed to gather the DNA, not been designed with the DNA itself.
Exactly, that's what I said.
About 50% of DA2 was references to Origins. :raise:
Let's see: the Fifth Blight was mentioned often, the Warden was mentioned, Anders and Merrill are featured, two characters who don't even look like (not just physically) like their Origins versions. Oh, and we forgot about tiny cameos featuring[sp]Leliana, Alistair, Zevran, Cullen and Bodahn and Sandal[/sp]. I find this hardly noteworthy from what I am normally used to when talking about BioWare.
if it was MADE from alien dna then why did it need so much alien dna? surely if they had the alien dna at the time they made it they could have skipped the whole process of having to gather... alien dna.
Didn't someone say (Tara if I remember right?) on the SP that Hargreave stole some CEPH technology and integrated some of it into the suit. And that was partially reason why the aliens started attacking or something like that.
he probably used the tech he got to design the suit to GATHER it
he probably used the tech he got to design the suit to GATHER it
I think no one really knows, and what speculations we make here can be considered non-canonical. We just don't know. Let Crytek figure it out in Crysis 2 - Chronicles of Prophet DLC.
About 50% of DA2 was references to Origins. :raise:
maybe if it was 100% it would actually be a decent game
maybe if it was 100% it would actually be a decent game
I agree, Mass Effect 2 also primarily used tiny cameos, news bulletins or codex entries, but these were great in number and written well. Also, you could easier notice what you did in the first game when you were playing the second. Of course, that might have to do with the fact that you play as the same character in both games.

But this is the Crysis thread so ontopic: Armour is shit on multiplayer, you can take maybe 2 extra bullets but you move like a snail.

Back to Crysis 2.
what it does have that is nicer is the size and gun placement, it's much smaller, lower and to the right, like pc games should be.
seriously who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make the gun take up a quarter of the goddamn screen and in some cases overlap the aiming reticule [editline]30th March 2011[/editline]
Fucker, That Topic about how Crysis 2 is sucky compared to the Original got closed just before i was able to say something... crysis 2 reminds me a little bit of robocop [editline]31st March 2011[/editline] your move, creep
Why am I getting such terrible lag on multiplayer? Every other game is flawless but Crysis 2 insists on putting me in games with people halfway across the planet.
