Cloaking 90% of the game is fun. Pissed me off at parts where you actually have to kill things to advance. It makes me so happy to walk by legions of enemies laughing at them.
Half-way through the game on Superhuman (or what is it called now?), very easy so far. I'll have to do another run without using cloak and/or armor at all.
I know what mary sue means merril
How is she a mary sue? Sure she's not a great character, but I don't see how she's a mary sue.
did the tutorial need to actually say ARMOR MODE, WELL THAT MIGHT BE USEFUL FOR STOPPING BULLETS for you to realize what it did
They had you use it first to specifically counter an explosion, and the text I read felt like it suggested that the armor would suppress sudden shocks, but not necessarily deter all forms of damage. I don't remember exactly why, but it conditioned me to think that the purpose of armor mode had changed, given it was an optional and not a default state.
How is she a mary sue? Sure she's not a great character, but I don't see how she's a mary sue.
yo
The prototypical Mary Sue is an original female character in a fanfic who obviously serves as an idealized version of the author mainly for the purpose of Wish Fulfillment. She's exotically beautiful, often having an unusual hair or eye color, and has a similarly cool and exotic name. She's exceptionally talented in an implausibly wide variety of areas, and may possess skills that are rare or nonexistent in the canon setting. She also lacks any realistic, or at least story-relevant, character flaws — either that or her "flaws" are obviously meant to be endearing.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue
I don't know what people expected in terms of map size. As soon as I learned Crysis 2 was taking place in New York, I knew the huge landscape was gone. New York isn't very big. If you wanted to go into every building in a 2 block radius, imagine the processing power required to do that.
Apparently there was a serverside patch to fix cheating in multiplayer, thank god. Now we just need stat tracking and ranked matches and the game will be playable.
Oh whoops, sorry about that guys! They did release a patch to fix cheating, but unfortunately it doesn't do anything! That's right, pirates can still play both the singleplayer AND the multiplayer, as well as editing simple XML files to change serverside variables including speed, cloak regen, damage, etc.. Good job Crytek, you bunch of twats, not only is the game broken inside and out, but you can't even figure out basic networking.
It lasts slightly longer, everything else is the same.
Enemies also detect you cloaked up close which really wasn't the case in the first game making it a little harder to use in that aspect. At least on hardest.
lol. Play 3 games together, thinking I am incredibly lucky because I haven't lost connection or had rank reset. Start 4th game, tear shit up with silenced nova, complete 50 kill challenge. Lose connection to host. Last 3 games stats erased. This game is really really bad.
Found a glitch: Worst game I have ever played.
Found a glitch: Worst game I have ever played.
Thus making me a mortal enemy of RPG games.
It's as easy as changing XML files?
you do realize that a phrase already exists that has the exact same meaning as 'nostalgia goggles' only it sounds infinitely less retarded [img_thumb]http://www.brianjamesnyc.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/rose-colored-glasses.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]31st March 2011[/editline] you do realize crysis came out in 2007, I'd be pushed to be nostalgic about something that came out in 2007, especially a game as ahead of its time as crysis basically here's the rundown they removed a large semblance of tactical depth from the game by making the maps smaller for consoles, and the lack of advanced graphics options makes no sense HOWEVER the smaller maps allowed them to really excel in making he maps look gorgeous, crysis looked lovely but all the buildings looked the same, and the jungle wasn't much better. It's much harder to get lost or die from something that isn't your fault in crysis 2, and the more channelled experience allows them to create some great set pieces. That said, you don't really have as many tactical approaches as C1 and there's less of a sense of exploration. As for the multiplayer, I didn't play much of C1's multiplayer so I can't really pass judgement on it, but I'm not a huge fan of C2's multiplayer. The map design is lovely but the gameplay, barring the nanosuit of course, is pretty boring.
Well I meant Rose Colored glasses but I didn't put the right word for it I suppose. Semantics really, my point remains the same. A majority of the hate behind Crysis 2 is simply from people wearing rose colored glasses. Crysis 2 isn't perfect yes but it's damn fun I find and just as good as the first in its own ways. Larger maps would have been cool but what we have in Crysis 2 plays off the strengths of the first game's nanosuit gameplay really well, and it works. There is less "filler freedom" in the level design, which while nice I don't find to be a major key point in the series personally. And by filler freedom I mean stuff like throwing fruit at people (which you can still do), running around driving a jeep into buildings, etc. And even then it's not completely absent either. Despite the maps being smaller, most of the levels have a similar degree of gameplay and tactical freedom to them. You can tackle most levels anyway you wish, even if its a more focused experience. That is what defined Crysis to me, open ended level design that allows you to get to your linear objectives in any manner you deem nessicary. Which is still here, even if there is less space and a few more linear segments added to break up the open ended ones. Versus CoD or Halo, where you literally approach most levels from a theatrical linear rollercoaster ride standpoint. The pacing is a little too intense at times as well. It's just getting annoying hearing all these people bash the game for completely "rose colored glasses" reasons. The old nanosuit of switching manually to strength mode in order to jump just didn't work very well. Why is it better that you have to manually switch to something that is completely context sensitive to a very specific situation? It was only useful to jump higher, that is all and doign more powerful melee. But that wasn't very useful because you died in two seconds if you were outside of armor or cloak mode anways. Having it so it does that ALL the time in a context sensitive situation (I.E. holding down jump to auto stregnth jump) really streamlines (OO SCARY WORD) to do the same job... better and more effectively. I'd like to be able to sprint without it requiring speed mode sure. And have speed mode be faster as a result (say, double tapping sprint enters a speed mode sprint). But I don't find it gamebreaking enough to say the game sucks because of it, which is what a lot of people are doing.
So I just realized something, if there is going to be an editor, it will not be as awesome as the first one. Why? The vehicles are worked out pretty damn lazy, as most of you might have noticed, in the entire campaign you will probably drive a vehicle 1-2 times. And the variation of driveable vehicles is limited to just the APC and a jeep ( Since MP has no vehicles unlike the first one this won't change with additional MP vehicles). Therefore I really doubt that it will be possible to spawn fully functional flying vehicles, and decent cars. Which really sucks because fighting pingers with a chopper would be amazing. Shorter version: Because the focus is way less on vehicles in both single and multiplayer, I fear that the editor probably won't feature any decent driveable vehicles like the first one and thus will be way more limited then the first one vehicle wise. I really hope that they will add better vehicles though (including first person, seat changing animations and good damage models) with the editor update or even some multiplayer dlc, otherwise I hope its possible to port the vehicles from the first game.
You can import the database and all from Crysis 1.

The game just updated for me. Fingers crossed for a patch to something.

Well, it looks like that my LE key has been activated immediately, but I had to do after that multi account trick so my nickname is pawelte2 instead of pawelte1.
I'm not getting a patch...
It just updated again
Yeah it just updated, anyone knows what the update did? It was 40.9mb so it should have done something.
[sp]Updated polish localization files.[/sp]
Anyone have a changelog?
