Why does anyone actually believe this will do anything?
Because it does. When you have a 64 bit system of you get more performance out of 64 bit programs.

just annoying since every other crytek game had them as well as the leaked beta of this game

that's mostly not the case, but I want them anyway
not as much as advanced graphics options though
Buying this game. :buddy:
Anything I should know about other than being a sequel to Crysis? Like Advanced Configuration tool or something?
Damn, I really want the story trailer music
It's so good

Not sure if you implied that you already have the configuration tool, but here's the link anyway:

Well, it appears I can't get past rank 8. Every time I rank up it demotes me instantly.
I'm at the level where I have to trash his server and exit through the elevator, but I go where the marker is pointing me and

GONE

Destroy the helicopter first, then it crashes and makes a hole in the building. Travel through the hole, kill guys, mission complete.
But why is the marker on the map telling me to go to the elevator, or is THAT the bug, not the elevator missing?
That's not a bug. It's the main objective. However, the helicopter is causing a problem so you blow it to smithereens.
Ah, the multiplayer is now enjoyable without cheaters!
Ah, the multiplayer is now enjoyable without cheaters!
Implying that there are no more cheaters. I didn't get the patch and I can play on servers.
I'd like to remind everyone about how unstable the 64bit version was of the leak. Obviously 32 and 64bit were both unstable, but 64bit barely worked, at least for me and a lot of others. I'm sure they have a good enough reason not to have released it, maybe it never will be, or maybe it will come with the editor.

the leak was a prerelease build, they could easily have fixed it before release

Maybe they consistently have issues with it. I don't know, no one knows, all of this is just speculations.
Also, I am aware that that build was a few months old when it was released.
Ah, the multiplayer is now enjoyable without cheaters!
Awesome, now they just need to fix stat tracking and the multiplayer will be enjoyable again :buddy:
I think I just met the first non-cheating level 50. Those are few and far between.
To fix your stats only exit the game or exit a match when you are playing in-game, since thats when it sends your unlock and stat information to the master server
Its kinda annoying but Ive yet to lose a rank following this. They also said customize your equipment and such in-game, though I thought you couldn't do that?
I thought I could destroy buildings and break into houses and escape enemy fire after I saw the first trailer with the softer version of "New York, New York" . Now the new TV spot is pretty much nanosuit V2 running through aliens accompanied by auto-tune garbage.

I guess they mean customize your equipment when waiting for the game to load while in-lobby.
Thanks for the tip, though. I'll try to do this from now on.
Ah, the multiplayer is now enjoyable without cheaters!
When did this happen? I was on a server just a few hours ago with multiple aimbotters, and then another with someone who had infinite grenades. Did this just happen?

The only bug was sound, and that's because the Crysis 2 leak's FMod 64 was a buggy version.
The only downside of Crysis 2 is that Crysis and Warhead looked slightly better.. and it didn't have that stupid visor number thing.
The only downside of Crysis 2 is that Crysis and Warhead looked slightly better.. and it didn't have that stupid visor number thing.
Well we all have our opinions. I think it really comes down to personal preference of the game design. I personally prefer the tropical jungle while others may prefer the city. Maybe which game looks better is also subject to opinion.

IMO the lighting and shaders are much better in Crysis 2. Considering in that department it's exactly the same as the first game, except with with a much better rendering engine (deferred, which allows infinite light sources while Crysis only supported 16 or so max before bogging down) and a few more additional shaders to boot like global illumination (which means ambient light realistically bounces off objects).
Textures are noticably worse when you compaire the two, but they still look pretty decent (unlike DA2 where the textures are all extremely muddy). And honestly I'd rather have worse textures at 3x better performance than really spotty or bad performance except on the highest of machines with good textures.
I have a feeling the majority of the people who think Crysis 2 looks terrible have top of the lines systems with Crysis 1 super tweaked out to take advantage of it. For me with a 460GTX, C2 looks much better and runs much much better. I could go with better textures, but they aren't terrible so it never even registered to me in my head that they were worse than C1's textures until half the internet started complaining about it.
Massive lag in this game is so fucked up. I ended up getting four kills in a row by shooting frozen people and executing their corpses while they're still standing. Then when the game caught up, the majority of people in the server all died at once including me and yet I still got the credit for each kill.
Is it just me or is the mouse moving fast up and down but then supper fucking slow left and right, its making it impossible for me to aim. I hate you Crysis 2 Advanced Graphics Options.

I've been using my 360 controller for this game, and it feels so much better than the mouse. I find this particular game difficult to play with the mouse for some reason.

i wonder why....
I think it was fairly obvious Crytek was starting to lean towards consoles in 2007 when Crysis came with a Xbox360 controller config built in.

???
I should mention that I strangely aim better in Crysis 1 with a 360 gamepad (custom made/modded, not official licensed, has speedy analogs) than I do with the mouse. Can anyone explain why? I discovered that back in 2010 when I felt like playing Crysis from a relaxed position at the back of my couch rather than 5 inches away from my TV with the keyboard.
And yes, I use my TV as my computer screen.
