I think it was fairly obvious Crytek was starting to lean towards consoles in 2007 when Crysis came with a Xbox360 controller config built in.
Does that mean the same thing with the Half-Life series? EP2 and Portal came with a 360 controller config. (and later HL2 and EP1 with the Orange box update) Just because it comes with a controller config doesn't mean its leaning to be consolized.

Crysis literally had a section in the options menu dedicated to the Xbox gamepad.

[editline]1st April 2011[/editline] Coming with gamepad support doesn't really translate into a company leaning towards consoles.
how can anybody aim better with a controller? it restricts your movement, this is a fact. i refuse to believe anybody ACTUALLY aims better with one. it's the stupidest thing ever. if you suck with a mouse, you just suck.
The only bug was sound, and that's because the Crysis 2 leak's FMod 64 was a buggy version.
64bit wouldn't even launch at all after 2 launches through it for me. The main thing I like about controllers is the vibrations. Oh, and the joystick is good for more precise movements, especially in platformers (I mean for walking, not aiming)
it can't even be a preference like saying i have a better grip of things with all my fingers cut off except my thumbs [editline]1st April 2011[/editline] full hand movement > more control than two thumbs. indisputable.
I just played a few matches against a legit cheater. Fuck sakes. He was stealthed and spammed grenades that didn't break stealth. he got like, 40 fucking kills on crash site because he could just sit and throw grenades.

Oh and aim assist. Makes people think they are actually good whilst they really suck balls.
This, plus the joysticks adds a bugger between imput and output. Oh and aim assist. Makes people think they are actually good whilst they really suck balls.
When I play on consoles, I always turn aim-assist off, if the option is there. Like in Far Cry 2, I was still a pretty rad sniper. My friend and I would be a Lieutenant and Rambo style duo, he would go in as assault, and I would cover him with my snipers/dart rifle.
I can aim with console controllers, but it's never near as good as a mouse. The main thing is the stick relies in receiving directional input that says, "if pointed in a given direction, pan the cursor in that direction at a certain speed dependent on how much pressure is applied to the stick". It's all well and good, but what makes the mouse superior is that instead of the pan-speed being determined by something as finicky and awkward to gauge as pressure, it's decided by the motion of the mouse itself. So basically, the biggest advantage is the mouse being able to pan and stop one-to-one, providing the desirable movement rather than relying on interpreted input. This is why the biggest problem with console aiming is over-or-under-shooting the point you want to put the cursor. It requires little else but mastery to place it where you want when you want it.

I am an excellent UT2k4 player, that classic stuff... But its hard as hell to aim in Crysis 2, dont ask me why. I played it with a Xbox controller too instead of having to feel like moving through butter the whole time.
Implying that there are no more cheaters. I didn't get the patch and I can play on servers.
Well you're never going to get rid of them all but I'd say they've cut down a massive amount. I had 10 or more games without seeing anyone farting around completley invisible and shooting like nobby cunts.

Pretty much.
Just a while ago I've tried playing multiplayer as I finally had a chance. I suck at this game.
What steam server did you guys download from? 40kb/s is crap [editline]1st April 2011[/editline] I'm in Australia btw
What steam server did you guys download from? 40kb/s is crap [editline]1st April 2011[/editline] I'm in Australia btw
all the aus servers have been shitty lately, try lose angeles or something, i get like 700kb/s from there which is better than 5kb/s or whatever bullshit i was getting from all aus servers

That usually happens to me on Lighthouse, but sometimes it's completely fine.

yeah i noticed nothing wrong with the aiming in this game. it's like you are desperately trying to convince yourself that this is a really poor console port for some obscure reason.
the aiming is fine in crysis 2 its so ridiculously easy
the combination of the horrendous mouselag and the aim bobbing sorta ruins it for me cause I always end up overcorrecting my aim with my mouse cause it takes half a second to correct any minor bobbing
the combination of the horrendous mouselag and the aim bobbing sorta ruins it for me cause I always end up overcorrecting my aim with my mouse cause it takes half a second to correct any minor bobbing
there was NO mouselag. (not if you turn vsync off) not one iota and the headbobbing is minuscule and unobtrusive to ur aiming
there was NO mouselag. (not if you turn vsync off) not one iota and the headbobbing is minuscule and unobtrusive to ur aiming
It's obtrusive when you're sniping at long range and it takes half a second to move your mouse so by the time the reticule moves the head bobbing causes you to miss your target completely I'm already running it with vsync off on high at 800x600, it's bs that you can't turn anything down further cause I've overclocked my computer to its absolute limit of overheating and I still only get 20fps when I heard this game was more optimized than crysis 1
It's obtrusive when you're sniping at long range and it takes half a second to move your mouse so by the time the reticule moves the head bobbing causes you to miss your target completely
jesus christ you are dumb. of course there will be bobbing when aiming down the scope of a rifle. you can't hold the rifle completely still UNLESS YOU HOLD DOWN SHIFT TO STEADY YOUR AIM. is this the first time you are playing a game that lets you use a sniper rifle?
jesus christ you are dumb. of course there will be bobbing when aiming down the scope of a rifle. the nanosuit can't hold the rifle completely still UNLESS YOU HOLD DOWN SHIFT TO STEADY YOUR AIM
Wait, you can hold shift? oh
Wait, you can hold shift? oh
yes like in every other modern FPS (you can also do so when aiming down the sights of e.g a LMG, which is a great way of concentrating fire at a target without having to wrestle with the recoil)
It's obtrusive when you're sniping at long range and it takes half a second to move your mouse so by the time the reticule moves the head bobbing causes you to miss your target completely I'm already running it with vsync off on high at 800x600, it's bs that you can't turn anything down further cause I've overclocked my computer to its absolute limit of overheating and I still only get 20fps when I heard this game was more optimized than crysis 1
yeah because sniping is supposed to be SO EASY!! you should try sniping in crysis 1. it's like you've got parkinsons. also, you got MOUSE lag because you got EVERYTHING lag. it has nothing to do with mouselag and it does run better than the first. i can max out crysis 2 with it's own inbuilt AA at like 60-80 fps even during intense moments, which is more than crysis 1 on very high with NO aa.
