Half life's enemies just took a lot of shots to kill.
So how's the AI in this game? Frankly i've been rather disappointed with game after game having the worst AI imaginable.
I think HL1 had way better AI than many games still coming out :/
It's pretty good when:
1. They don't spawn infront of you (happened only once for me)
2. They don't bug out (i.e. get stuck)
They also have a tendency to just stand around after going from Alert to calm. But really they are not so bad, I've been flanked quite a few times.
[editline]6th April 2011[/editline]
Also, bought myself a GTX560 Ti to replace my 460 that the SB3 editor somehow killed. Hopefully the 560 drivers and new hardware will work a little more friendly with the game and editor.
Once my 460 is done going through RMA in about a month Ill probably sell it for $160 or so

The AI isn't actually that bad.
Half-Life 1 and 2's AI is not that great at all.
Did they fix the cfg editor-hackers yet?

HL2's AI is to dependent on Nodes. Take away those nodes and NPCs can't recognize cover or flank. Take away those nodes and Striders will just stand there and shoot at you. Definitely not the best AI.
This game is just plain damn badass, the multiplayer is great and immerse!
Singleplayer too played through few chapters but didn't want to play it anymore when I got down to some real online mayhem!

Crysis 2's ai relies on nodes waaaaay too much, much more than HL1/2.

Don't all games rely on nodes of some sort?
Don't all games rely on nodes of some sort?
Not all games, no. Most use navigation zones, like UE3. Generally nodes are worse though, because the movement is all waypoint based, instead of decision making.
How can you be sure what Crytek is using are nodes and not zones?

"AI POINT"
Am I the only one that enjoyed fighting the Ceph more than he humans in this game? My strategy is running up to them in cloak and sliding into them while activating armor mode and shotgunning them in the face with the Marshall. It is very satisfying and very doable even in Post-Human warrior.

They were a lot of fun to fight but it seemed like you only ever fought two at a time. Never felt in danger around them.
When I first saw the ceph (and fought them). I was like "oh shit they jump everywhere, they're going to be a bitch to fight", but then you keep seeing them and you see how they're pushovers that literally walk towards you.

Those are just glorified zones. If you've ever worked with them in the editor, they're basically just used for the AI to move about in restricted areas and to keep them from bumping into objects way too much. Go back to Sandbox 2 and toss a few koreans down in a forest, and they'll move into cover and move around trees quite nicely without too much noding. Of course the AI needs to be told which objects they're allowed to vault over and such, but besides that, the points are just there as a general guideline, the AI decides where it wants to go and which route it should choose to get there.

That's true. If/when the sandbox is released someone needs to make a mod that makes the Ceph really hard and move really fast. The only Ceph unit that's hard to fight is the giant walker thing and even then it's not that hard.
Who cares.. it's only in menus.
Annoying as fuck imo.
Also, anyone got Nano Recharge Lv.2 in MP? If yes, does it works like in the SP, where it recharges your energy alot faster? It seems like a really good perk, but only if it works like in the SP.
Crytek needs to get their shit together.
Since the 1.2 patch, multiplayer isn't saving any of my stats.
Huh. Really? Crysis 1 ran at 10-18fps on my PC, so I thought it would be able to run Crysis 2 just fine seeing how everyone's going around saying how optimized it is.
Crysis 2 has much higher system requirements than the original Crysis, since there's a massive visual difference when comparing low in Crysis to high (it's low wtf) in Crysis 2
Ugh, why do the ragdolls behave as if they are made of rubber? It takes all of the sastisfaction out of throwing enemies across the street. Is this just because I'm playing the console version?
Shit. I keep getting this error when I try to launch the editor:
"Failed to Create Empty Document"
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm pretty pissed, this error didn't come up yesterday when I was using the Sandbox3 Editor. It's very fun imo, and I love screwing around with the Geom Entities making my own little abstract maps out of little pieces of roads, broken buildings, rubble etc.
The editor is far more user-friendly than Sandbox2 was. The interface and button layouts are really nice to look at, and it's easy to find the tools you're looking for.

This handled pretty well on Med(High in this case) spec on my old 4670. It skipped a lot, and I could barely aim, but I got around 30-35FPS on it in almost all cases when I was in battle, etc.

In Sandbox 2 wasn't there a way to automatically fill a certain region with AI nodes so you didn't have to do it yourself
I was really disappointed when the last level just involved me cloaking and stealth killing those 4 aliens. Maybe crytek should have made it so you can't stealth kill them because using those big armored aliens would have made for a harder ending.
Am I the only one who didn't stealth kill them?
I beat the shit out of them after using the K-Volt.
I shot them until they died.
I shot them until they died.
Me too
I used all my remaining ammo on them.
Well I'm surprised how decent this ran on my laptop, I mean I was on lowest resolution/lowest settings, but it still looks great at even that. Feel like if I could adjust setting myself I could squeeze a little bit more out of it, though. Oh well :colbert:

It saves my rank and unlocks, but my challenges and kill counts with weapons haven't saved from the start.
